Jericho
I was just wondering if anyone had seen the series Jericho that was on CBS a couple years back. I just found it on Netflix about a week ago. It is a strikingly accurate reflection of what Halliburton and Blackwater might do to this country in the event of a National Emergency.
The show was on for only one season and then six episodes during the second season. Despite widespread viewership the show was canceled do to "ratings". However, it is in many peoples opinion the show was canceled for its contents. Part of the plot was how the "Halliburton" like company took over the country by perpetrating a terrorist attack on the US and then elements in the government blamed it on Iran and North Korea.
Too much good stuff in the show to recount it all here, I would definitely recommend checking it out tho if you get the chance. And would love to hear anyone else's take on the show if you have already seen it.
Peace
David

I think you can still watch it on the CBS site.
At least you could about 6-8 months ago. Maybe they have taken it down to spur DVD sales.
There was rumor that the Sci-Fi Channel or another cable network was going to pick up the show, but nothing has surfaced. For the most part, the story as intended is finished.
oh yeah!
i was a big fan and so were all the fans - big fans - so big that when it was
taken off the air the fans raised a ruckus and it was brought back on due
to popular demand.
they made an additional 7 episodes for the next season and made it known that the last one was the season finale - permanently.
it was a great show.

I really liked the show. It made me think of what an Iraqi might feel like as they try to run their local communities but keep getting interference from the puppet gov, blackwater, and halliburton.
Ditto.
I recently watched it on NetFlix, as well, and I concur with what you've said. It's definitely worth watching and there were many points at which I thought to myself, "I'm surprised this made it on the air". Production-wise, they did a lot of things right. Good plot, good acting, good dialogue, and none (or very little) of what I would call "silly violence".

I had watched all episodes:
I also have some friends that watched it all and were disturbed that it was canceled. I tried to explain my thoughts on why it was taken off the air, and they laughed at me. They're not laughing now that I have showed them the comparisons.
