John Stossel Leaving ABC For Fox

John Stossel, the longtime ABC News correspondent and co-anchor of "20/20," is leaving ABC to join Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network. TVNewser has learned Stossel will host a weekly, one-hour program for the 2-year-old business channel. He's expected to signed a multi-year deal with Fox which will include regular appearances on Fox News Channel during daytime and primetime. He'll also host four, hour-long specials on Fox News, much like the business/consumer specials he'd hosted for years on ABC.

Stossel, a libertarian, has been appearing on Fox News for years as a guest on shows including "The O'Reilly Factor," "Hannity & Colmes" and "The Big Story."

So I checked out Huffpo to see what they had to say about

Stossel heading to Fox....WOW! Intolerant, intolerant, intolerant! Liberals despise anyone and everyone that do not have the SAME EXACT ideological leanings or beliefs. These people honestly can't discern the difference between someone like John Stossel and Sean Hannity. They just lump them into the same category and dismiss as radical right wing kook jobs or nutty free market anarcho capitalists...COLLECTIVISM at it's finest.

Anyone with any objectivity can surely see there are massive differences between the two....and if you can't, just watch the broadcast Stossel was on Hannity's panel. John refused to comment on things he had not personally investigated, unlike 99% of other media hacks that will spin something anyway they wish for the desired public reaction.

The party that is supposed to be the highly enlightened intellects sure have a hatred for anything that falls outside of their despotic form of political governance. It's absolutely amazing how many common bonds there are behind their line of irrational, subjective thought processing and that of the neocons.

Sorry to have had to rant....but good lord. Read the comments on the Huffpo story and you'll better understand my reaction. One of the posters stated something along the lines of "well 25 years ago he actually had some semblance of a human being"....it's just ridiculous!

I agree. It was the inevitable end result of embracing an

With all of this talk of Constitution, liberty, freedom, limited government and other such phrases...it only stands to reason that many people will actually learn the truth about what these phrases mean and more importantly who it is that actually stands for these principles. Many will find that it is NOT the NeoCons.

Ron Paul to thank for all of the talking heads discussing the Constitution and freedom. Their respective values in terms of radio and TV ratings have all increased and the media knows this fact very well. So, Fox wants a piece of that action/money. Stossal wins getting in on the deal for being in the right place at the right time. However, Fox has to sacrifice some of "the babes" for some real substance...freedom talk.
This nucleus of Constitutionalists will hopefully get through to some sheeple. I like your take on "playing right into our hands."

We'll see. I do not trust Fox. However the Business Channel seems to have some autonomy so far.

I've seen John Stossel's reporting over the years and watched as he started fairly liberal, then morphed over the years into a common sense libertarian voice.

Yes, maybe we'll get to see more of his pretty thorough reporting and hope he stays on course.

Anything that gets John Stossel on television for more hours per week is great news. When the smoke clears folks, liberty can't win without converting sheeple by the millions. Sheeple listen to Stossel. Hope Ron, Rand, Tom Woods, Schiff, the Judge, are regular guests.

The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.

all the ones with a leaning towards some kind of conservatism are heading to Fox. Guess there is no room for them in the other broadcasting networks. Will MSNBC loose Pat Buchanan? He is the only one with a conservative bent over at that socialist site that ever gets to talk.

The Judge might have talked him into it. It would be interesting to see if he is able to finally do some of the pieces that he apparently was not allowed to do on ABC. It seems to me he probably had a greater affect on that network though. Maybe he can hone in on a lot of the ignorance that thrives on Fox News and give its viewers a more educated perspective on the important issues.
