Submitted by candance on Thu, 09/10/2009 - 21:42I ran across this on my local news channel and I'm still shaking my head in amazement.

And to think I USE to support the Humane Society.

Well
Round up all those corpse eaters at burger king. They're partaking in the destruction of evidence.
Seriously? Really now? Must be all that fluoride on the brain to make people think in such a way. That or they graduated college with a degree in animal welfare. Only someone with a college education would say something like that.
hmmmm Death or treatment
Sounds like cancer and this vet was mad he wasn't gonna make a few grand on chemo. Which I'm against. I'm one of those people that believes animals have rights but something isn't adding up here. Maybe the dog was showing signs of abuse or neglect? If that's the case then the vet made the right call sorry. Wish they would have revealed more details. I hope the autopsy show's it was natural causes.
So, if I shoot a pig with a .22 in the head, will that be a
felony now? When I then butcher it, will that be desecrating a corpse? Cause some folks have pigs for pets? Or if I cut off my chickens head, is that causing the animal to suffer, is that a felony. Do I have to graze now?
This is ridiculous. It is a dog. I love my dog, my son loves the dog, but when the dog gets old and is suffering, what is the difference between me and the vet, ending it?
Oh, I guess about 200 bucks. Other than that there is no difference, except if I do it, I know the dog won't suffer.
Did you notice the nice 2 second pause between knocking on the door and then busting it in? That was very sweet of them, to give the guy time to answer the door.
I have 3 dogs buried on my property,( I mean the dear leaders property he lets me pay taxes on), should I be expecting a raid now? One died of old age, one died of a snake bite, and one ran in the road, are those suspicious circumstances?

This is so sickening, in a time where abortions of human babies are widely accepted, and the elderly being now encouraged to just let go of life, animals are given more respect than human life.
This is going to get worse
unless the system collapses completely. Then we will be eating our pets.

Beyond belief.
Did you notice the extreme bias in tone of the report also?
This is total insanity.

'We' believe that animals have rights too!

The system that enables this to continue isn't the problem though, right folks? It's just 'the people' who are running it. Gee, everything would be just fine if those people were replaced, right?
When will you learn to see what is right before your very eyes?
The system wasn't designed to
run on fiat monopoly money. In fact that's not a system, that's just theft.

Don't worry about none...
he/she/it takes every opportunity to push for an anarchist solution to everything.
Apon reading the new MIAC report, I'm happy to say that Anarchists are going to be the new first-targets for homeland security, so they'll be off the forums soon enough.
Personally, I can't wait.

That's right Devon, call for me to be slienced by violent means
Aren't you sweet?
Why don't you tell us all how you believe in liberty again. Or freedom of speech. Or of how the glorious constitution you love protects me.
You see people, the problem with the position that most of you support is that in the end you must resort to using violence against non-violent people to steal from them and control them. Fortunately for those of you who believe this, those of like me who see this for what it truly is realize that using violence to prevent your aggression against us will only lead to more violence.
Peace is the only way forward.
hhmmm....
Do the ends justify the means... in this case, probably.
The majority of everything you post about your obsession with an anarchist utopia is basically a waste of database space... it has no bearing on reality.
That you continue posting it on a forum that is dedicated to restoring the Republic and upholding the constitution just makes you a troll... your opinions are not wanted here, yet you continue to post.
So if you are silenced in reality and I've nothing to do with it, does it benefit me and this forum? Freedom of speech is one thing... constantly badgering everyone you can to further a fantasy agenda of yours is quite another.
So if you were carted off in reality, I'm pretty sure I would not shed a tear for you. And wish you luck in peacefully handling that issue.
:)

Here's the way I see it.
You can't support your position with logic and make the mistaken assumption (and programmed emotional response) that you've been trained to that I'm attacking you personally. You then resort to the ultimate tactic of last resort of every statist and government everywhere, the threat of violence.
Violence is all you have to support your position.
WHAT'S GOING ON PEOPLE?
Something is definitely wrong here.
So harassing and ruining a humans life because of a animal, a dog who the vet admitted was going to die.
What about the soldiers who tossed the dog off a bridge in Iraq. What about the squirrels, raccoons etc. that are a hit and run on the road.
Once again the people breaking in as well as the vet himself cannot think for themselves what is more important here.
Some type of response by someone. Like, "We're going to do WHAT?"
Soon we will be in the streets and the animals will be inside and taken care of by the government.
WAKE UP PEOPLE !
We need to change not only personnel but ideas.
Amazing:
It has been common practice to take care of your own business when it comes to these things. I took care of a dog for a friend of mine last years because he didn't have the heart to do it himself. It was necessary, and after seeing this, I'm sure glad we kept it between ourselves. I grew up country and that's just the way it's done. I am wondering now if I would get locked up when it comes time for the fall butchering season. Imagine farmers having to check with someone before they get to fill their freezer for the year.

Ridiculous
Oh my god is this ridiculous. It must have been a REALLY slow day at the police station that day. It's ridiculous, sad, and funny all at the same time how seriously all of the people, police, reporters took this! All I can say is, "Beam me up Scotty....."
I don't get it.
If its ok to bring your human family home to die, why can't we bring our pets home to die? They won't let you euthanize grandma, but now they demand that we do that to our pets?! I don't know about you, but my kitty is part of my family. I wouldn't want to leave her in such a cold, heartless, and sterile environment to die either.

Im tired
Im really getting tired of this crap.. Felony charges? wtf??
The dog's family should sue
The family of the deceased dog should sue its caregiver ("owner" is a term that implies there is a human right to own another life) for wrongful death.
Was the dog's mother or siblings notified about its poor health and terminal diagnosis? Were they even invited to the funeral? That has a punitive value for pain and emotional distress.
I think this would be an easy win for the dog's family when tried before a jury of their peers.
They should also sue the veterinarian. He should have obtained a court order to continue medical care until the blood relatives could be contacted.
And why was the animal social worker so late in acting? The animal social worker was neglectful in his duty to act quickly. The dog's family should sue him too.
I am sure there is an attorney with the Animal Civil Liberties Union willing to take on this case.
The system failed this noble dog. This kind of speciest crime must be not be allowed to go unpunished.
HOLY CRAP! I was just possessed by Cass Sunstein!

sad state of affairs
or "hole"
Heh, this is so stupefyingly terrible that it affected my word choice!
I hope that guy retains a good attorney and gets a sensible judge.
life ruiners
that's what police are nowadays. They most certainly aren't peace officers.
Yes, there are good cops, but save your arguments with me on this, if good cops outnumber the bad, then at least *one* of those guys would have said "Whoa, wait..we're gonna do what!?"
But no...see, it's a ruse to make money. If they can needlessly ruin this poor guy's life, the state can make money off of his misery. They put him in the system, make him pay all kinds of fees and fines; etc.
It's simply outrageous. This is exactly the kind of thing that was mocked by Americans years ago(when it really was America) as something that would only happen in some God-forsaken dictator-fueled whole somewhere "in the third world".
That's us now. That's US.
A sad police state
A sad police state indeed.Look at all the resources used on this non-issue.The animal rights people, along with the environmentalist seem to be in the Anti-human party.
I guess it's just a matter of time before anyone with or those that want pets must have "animal insurance".
"A government of reason is better than one of force." --Thomas Jefferson to Richard Rush, 1820
WTF?!! So, the vet says the
WTF?!!
So, the vet says the dog may need to be put down, and the owner gets arrested because the dog is dead! Brilliant! Only government stooges and some worthless busybody "humane" society riffraff could come up with something so idiotic.
If a dog, or any other animal in one's care is sick to the point a vet says it may need to be put down, killing it before it suffers any more is what an owner is supposed to do, unless the vet can get to helping it right away for a cost the owner can afford. It's kind of your responsibility as a pet owner. A decent one, at least. Of course such decency may have prevented the vet from billing a few hundred for euthanasia services, and some humane society trash from patting each other on the back for prolonging a sick dog's suffering while pretending to care.
And, even worse, what kind of shithole do we live in where cops can barge into people's house uninvited based on nothing more than slander by some busybody? This country is pretty much goners already. We really need one serious reset, on all levels, to return to something even resembling a civilized society.
I'm still shaking my head on this one!
What if I decide to eat one of my pet chickens (not that I would).
Will they come break down my door?I thought animals were
property.
I would have thought it a
I would have thought it a hoax, but you said it's local. Sheesh, they tortured my mom when she was in the hospital. Wouldn't let her die a humane death like animals are allowed.
It happened in Omaha, Nebraska
That was one of the local news stations reporting on it.
All I can hear right now is...
Kevin Kline in A Fish Called Wanda...
"...there is no doubt that it (socialism) could not possibly have affected us so widely and so deeply as it has, had it not been heavily financed". - B. Carroll Reece
"...there is no doubt that it (socialism) could not possibly have affected us so widely and so deeply as it has, had it not been heavily financed". - B. Carroll Reece
How do they
know he didn't just take the dog to another vet for a second opinion? Even so it is none of their business. They cannot be legally in the right on this one. Break down his door, dig up his dog! No I don't think so. The vet is god and the law? You have to do what the vet says even if you don't agree? No way. Suppose they treated the dog and it suffered. Does the vet go to jail ? Suppose they euthenize the dog and then do an autopsy and find out the dog may have survived? Do they go to jail? Way tooo crazy. I want to know what happens with the rest of this story. What kind of a judge would find anyone guilty of anything except for the vet, humane society, and the cops.
What we found kind of odd
Was that the news where there filming the whole thing from the beginning.
Kind of makes a person nervous to take their pet to the vet. :o(
