Poll Shows RJ Harris in Close Race in Oklahoma's 4th District
September 10, 2009 (Oklahoma) - Internal polling from the RJ Harris 2010 campaign shows Rep. Tom Cole, the incumbent since 2003 at 54%, RJ Harris at 31%, and 15% undecided.
The number of undecided-votes clearly shows Harris within striking distance of an incumbent that should have had all undecided-votes nailed down years ago. This poll was conducted by Persistence Consulting LLC and included likely Republican primary voters from the 4th district.
Just in case any of you were wondering whether or not we can beat Tom Cole...The answer is keep donating, because that 15% of undecided voters, plus some of Cole's voters that have not yet heard of me will win this election for us. We need more help to keep getting the word out.
If you have not donated recently, please give what you can. Keep in mind, these are the poll numbers with me having raised only $22k...imagine what we could do with 250k. Clearly we are putting your donations to good use. :)

I recently was the victim of a joke by my room mate, who posted a pretty pessimistic and mean thing on the RJ harris page about his close poll results. I had left the window open and gone to bed for the evening when this occurred. I'd like to delete the post but can't seem to figure out how. Normally I don't post at all on the DP, just randomly. You can tell the post isn't from me because I wrote a lengthy post about how you should support Ron Paul when he just finished at Ames and it was a low finish and I was trying to rally people to continue, even though it seemed a little hopeless. I'd like this post of mine to be deleted because I think it harms morale of the campaign for RJ, although I haven't really followed his campaign I do wish him luck. I apologize to anyone who was offended.
(anyone curious about that post that I referenced can track my posts and see that it expresses pretty much the opposite sentiment that was posted here. I was only made aware of this after my room mate checked to see the firestorm and then happily called me into the room)

When Ron Paul ran, I sent out mailers in the coupon mailers that get sent to people's houses. They will take anyone who wants to advertise, it does not have to be just pizza ads or tanning ads, it can be political ads. Where I live, I was hitting 100,000 houses for around $400. Something like Val Pak or JB Dollar Stretcher. Check your mailbox this week and see who does direct home mailers in your district, and call them to see what they can do for you, it is a very inexpensive way to advertise. Also check with the television stations in your area, wee hour morning times can be as cheap as $50 a spot and they sometimes will actually film the commercial for free for you. Call your local paper too and let them know you are running, tell them you are inspired to run because of Glenn Beck, even though Ron Paul is the reason. Play the game best you can, and get into congress and kick some ass!!!!
