Fearful that they're losing ground on immigration and health care, a group of House Democrats is pushing back and arguing that any health care bill should extend to all legal immigrants and allow illegal immigrants some access.

The Democrats, trying to stiffen their party's spines on the contentious issue, say it's unfair to bar illegal immigrants from paying their own way in a government-sponsored exchange. Legal immigrants, they say, regardless of how long they've been in the United States, should be able to get government-subsidized health care if they meet the other eligibility requirements.

"Legal permanent residents should be able to purchase their plans, and they should also be eligible for subsidies if they need it. Undocumented, if they can afford it, should be able to buy their own private plans. It keeps them out of the emergency room," said Rep. Michael M. Honda, California Democrat and chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.

Mr. Honda was joined by more than 20 of his colleagues in two letters laying out the demands.

Larry Sinclair Book Review

Has Barack Obama engaged in gay sex acts and smoked cocaine in the 1990’s and had someone killed to cover it up?

That’s the premise of Larry Sinclair’s book, “Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies and Murder?”

First let me say that I don’t endorse the validity of anything Mr. Sinclair has to say: I am simply stating his accusations and reviewing his book. There are a lot of things we don’t know about Obama because he hasn’t released his transcripts and the media hasn’t spent much time investigating him. Whether anything Sinclair says has any truth to it, we may never know.

Sinclair claims to have had sex with Obama in 1999 while visiting Chicago. He made his charges publicly in a YouTube video in January, 2008. He claims to have contacted the Obama campaign in 2007 asking Obama to correct his statements on his previous history of drug use. After the Obama campaign did not do so, he went public on YouTube and contacted a number of news agencies.

His book delves into his contacts with the Obama campaign, other Democratic campaigns and the media and how certain members of the media, the Obama campaign and bloggers tried to sabotage him.

"Mythman" who has also used a second handle "flyfshr1cd" has been personally attacking me as well as many others. I do not want to be personally attacked any longer, and name calling and negative speech is not permitted. I do not know how to stop these attacks. Perhaps you could discuss this with Mythman if you come to the same conclusion as I have that the comments made by this person have not contributed anything positive to the DP.

I just read your link. I'm dismissing it all as apologetics along the lines of "Oh, we Promise, the Income Tax is Just to get us through the War!" and "Oh, we Promise, the SS# will Never Never Never Never be connected to you as a form of ID."

Playing with semantics until the foot is in the door. Like the guys that said a Public Option is the best method to arrive at a Single Payer System, which is a relabeling/renaming of a concept detrimental to the human condition as national policy.

I generally give people the benefit of the doubt, but basically I'm thinking you have a pre-existing condition that you want someone else to pay for. Thinking you're personally invested in it for your own purpose, probably driven by fear, and because you're not young or stupid (obtuse is not stupid, more along the lines of Willful Ignorance), are able to rationalize it into something else. The Blank Slate that Obama was, allowed you to become the Obamaton that you are, giving you an external object to place your fears onto, to give you personal hope. At least that's how I'm seeing it so far.

It's sad, if true. An AVOWED Fascist couldn't have written a better apologetic than that "factcheck" peice. Who's behind factcheck anyway? I don't usually care about the messenger, until the message is so bad you just Have to wonder...
