Something to consider

Something to consider if approached for a blood draw by a police officer.
A few years ago a nurse in a doctor's office in the town where I live reused needles and ended up giving a bunch of their patients hepatitis C.
I rarely if ever go to the doctors but if I was to that would be the first thing
on my mind if they asked to draw blood..are they using a clean needle ?
Now imagine trusting a non medical licensed person that more likely than not gives little about me as a person or of my rights. Hell would have to freeze over before I would let them stick a needle in my veins.

the answer to 1984 is 1776

This is the end

Just the fact that this is being practiced already horrifying. This is the most bizarre interpretation of Schmerber vs California that has ever been conceived. Beating people up (felony) to conjure up a misdemeanor. How long before the final step towards concentration camps and mass killings? Unbelievable.

time to get serious

Another example of the Feds pushing a police state, and the States agreeing. Maybe the participating States need to pass a law to prohibit these actions, much like laws were passed in some States to refuse compliance with REAL ID.

It is time to get serious about returning my "drivers license" and learning how to "travel in a personal automobile" so I won't be under the blood-sucking vampire rules.

Thinking out loud: I want to find like-minded people who can jointly fund some lawyer work to lay the ground work for legally getting out of the "drivers license". This would be like a mutual aid society where we would help our friends who have taken the same path.

What is a persoanl automobile?

science fiction idea

"Policemen are the cowboys of people"

I'm just pondering the history of the medical profession in light of this news story. And a science fiction idea came to mind.

Doctors and nurses were not always such highly regarded members of society, if you look way back in history. They occupied the lower classes...slaves, barbers, bloodletters, and the like. The kind of people expected to clean poop off of dead bodies.

Which is just to say that if was true then, it could become true again.

What if...the policemen of the future take a significant role in delivering health care with such responsibilities as child birth, nutrition, blood tests, disease management, anti-biotic delivery, termination of life, and the processing of corpses. Just think of the policemen as cowboys and think of the people as cattle. Cowboys do all that kind of stuff with their cows; it's all in a day's work.

What's strange to me is how this science fiction idea really isn't farfetched.

Doesn't "The State" play a regulatory role in every aspect of civilized life, from birth to death? I guess, if you choose to be a member of society, then you gotta play by their rules. You do a cost benefit analysis and decide that it's better to have a social security number, work, pay taxes, etc than it is to live the life of freedom out on the open prairie like a coyote (or like a native American from years past). Your decision. Just deal with the consequences.

Where are the free and the brave???

are they marching in the millions on the State capital?

OK Fine

If you are proven not to be intoxicated? I say MAJOR lawsuit! This is outrageous! Talk about a police state. I feel sick.

Thank you for posting this. I would have not believed it.

"Obamney care," Nuff said.

I am absolutely

enraged reading this. Roadside blood withdrawal is not sanitary, for one!
I happen to be somebody who hates needles; I have tiny deep veins, they always have to use a needle designed for a baby on me---and even with all that, sometimes my blood does not "come"...
...not that I drink and drive, but according to this article, all that's necessary is the suspicion that I am drunk and/or high....grrrrrrrrr
