Swine Flu Shots to Start in Three Weeks as U.S. Cases Spread -- Bloomberg
Sept. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Swine flu vaccinations may begin in three weeks, earlier than previously anticipated, after the first U.S. tests found a single shot to be effective in eight to 10 days, U.S. health officials said.
The first shots may be available by the end of this month and administered to patients the first week of October, said Nancy Cox, director of the flu division at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Health officials had previously planned for vaccinations to begin in mid-October, requiring two shots administered three weeks apart.
Swine flu outbreaks have rippled across U.S. schools and universities after pupils returned to classes in the past few weeks. Washington State University reported more than 2,500 cases, and the CDC last week reported a nationwide spike of influenza cases months earlier than the past three flu seasons. The test results are boosting hopes the vaccine may be available in time to curb the first pandemic in 41 years, Cox said.
“We were anticipating that it would begin mid-October,” Cox told reporters today at the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy in San Francisco. “This was a conservative estimate but it was a necessary conservative estimate. We now feel that we will have vaccine for more people earlier and this is extremely good news.”

I can beat the flu
I rarely get the flu, but when I do, I beat it with this remedy from a French colleague:
Step 1. Mix together and drink
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup rum
Step 2. Get under a heavy quilt and sleep
Step 3. Repeat as necessary
(assuming you eat a healthy diet, exercise, and blow off stress with laughter, love, and labrador retrievers)
Out of Control
The whole thing is out of control. This is just a strain of the flu. It seems that H1N1 and H1N5 are man made at that.
What the crazy government (Rockefeller) is up to this time I don't know. I can assure you this has nothing to do with helping the common citizen.
I have a relative that got the swine flu and cured themselves with a strong immune system in 3 days.
Eat healthy and get exercise. You either wont get sick or be strong enough to fight it off.

Here in South Carolina, I teach at a private school and over half of certain grades are out sick with the swine flu as of today. So far, I think we've had a few hospitalizations, but it is pretty much the flu with a very high fever. I have educated my family on the vaccine and we are NOT getting it. How do you all feel about Tamiflu? Some of the kids at my school seem to have had some success with it.
I'm just curious in case I get sick...
The French to lose civil rights because of swine flu
This has gotten out of all proportion. For instance, the French are to lose their civil liberties due to swine flu, which claims 0.01% of the deaths of regular flu.

The Feds have zero authority in this area
that won't stop them of course.
So what do you suggest should be the proper response to someone who has no legal authority to compel you to take a vaccine who does so?
Keep in mind, you can't take them to court. They've passed laws against that.
I can think of only one course of action that is appropriate no matter what level of government they pretend to be from.
Vaccines have not been proven safe
- Satisfactory safety testing for vaccines has not occurred before the H1N1 vaccine goes to market. Full disclosure of the additives should be made as well as informed consent on the risks of taking these vaccines. Big pharma is not even required by law to prove that vaccines are safe.
- Dosage has not been determined. Some say 1 flu shot, others say 2 per person
- A 200 pound adult takes the same injection as a 40 pound child. Is this safe for children?
- H1N1 goes for $100 per shot. $100 x 300,000,000 citizens = $30 billion for big pharma
- Healthcare choices should never be mandated for all. We've already lost philosophical and medical exemptions in many states and only religious exemptions remain. Why should I have to change my religion just to avoid somebody injecting foreign substances into my very own body?
Don't you think we should demand some consumer safety provisions before we succumb to this media blitz? Get the big pharma lobbying $$$ out of Washington DC and protect our individual rights.
