A pretty neat cartoon from 1948 warning Americans of all the "-ism's" that are being thrown around and what they mean to us....how soon the Sheep forget.

Funny how true the end of the cartoon is
dosen't it seem like the News Media and Politicians are trying to get us to fight each other today more than ever!

Sad a 60 year old cartoon states political reality more clearly then then our current media does.
Nice video
"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government's purposes are beneficial. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of the liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greater dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding."
Justice Louis Brandeis (1928)

Hey, Conservatism, what's left to conserve? You blew it. Let's restore liberty, then you can have your label back if you want it.
I had a nice tie-in condemning -ism's, but you gotta' be succinct with twitter.
Although, this video is clearly referring to communism. It could easily have had a broader message. Anyone good at re-cutting?
Defend Liberty!
Kinda ironic that they put
Kinda ironic that they put the proto-fascist Lincoln there at the end seated on his Roman temple throne to the gods. Also ironic that they used the govenment protected auto industry as a model of free markets. It's a good video but not exactly truthful or accurate.
I think it'd be more accurate to state that we became the wealthiest nation on earth IN SPITE of corporatists and fascists like Hamilton, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Truman.
This is a great video. I'm
This is a great video. I'm going to send it to a few people I know.
Also interesting where we were then
relative to the rest of the world, and where we are now. That was right after WWII so some countries were still recovering, but we certainly have lost a great deal of our relative wealth since then. For example, the Auto industry.

Wow,
Important lessons seem to have been forgotten (by all but the remnant), but such are the politics of empire.
Thanks for posting.

Something else we forgot
The cartoon ends with these words:
"Working together to produce an ever greater abundance of spiritual and material values for all."
Seems that in our headlong rush into materialism, we've also forgotten our spiritual values.
love that one
...and this is also a spiritual battle...as you said in the past(just after the GOP Convention).
