Newspaper ad campaign in phase 1 in IA and NH

0 votes

Our newspaper ad campaign is underway!

We have set up a temp email for this at Newspaper4paul@hotmail.com

If you wish to be part of this please email us so we can notify you when the web site is up and running.

I am a specialist in the science of hearing and i own a nationwide marketing company for the medical (ears& hearing) industry. I work with the largest hearing lab in the country and now have over 300 people ready for December 16th and most are donating more than $100

I have lost business pleading the case for Dr. Paul and do not want my loss to be for nothing for we must keep up this fight for our liberties and Dr. Paul is the only choice i see.

Has anyone thought about contributing to run some full page 4 color newspaper ads in IA and NH like that guy did in the USA TODAY?
Someone in another blog said they would start a $5 or $10 collection to run them, is anyone else interested in joining us?

I would gladly design some ads that we could run for Dr. Paul.

I will do this work for free and it is Legal which i confirmed with my attorney and the campaign This morning.

Since we can do this legally we could hit all the major cities this month before the primaries. Des Moines, Cedar rapids, Iowa city. Manchester, Concord etc... Newspaper is less expensive than direct mail and allows you to reach 10's to 100's of thousands at 1 shot for much less than mail. To do 100,00 direct mail pieces would cost about $40,000 although we could reach 2 or 3 million people for about the same cost in newspaper.

If any heads of the meetup groups contact me i will provide my toll free number for them but i do not wish to receive 1000's of calls from everybody (sorry).

If we all want to start a fundraiser for this i DO NOT want to be in control of the money but i can get the figures of what each ad will cost and coordinate with who ever is the treasurer.

This could make a huge impact in the early states and i will put my entire staff on this.

Thanks Dr. Steve Parent

I'd be willing to donate

I'd love to put some money toward a newspaper add. If there were a site, like fiveforfreedom.com, I'd donate today. Is there? Lemme know.

We will have a site up soon

hey steve

let me know if you need any help with a simple page for posting the Ads and chipin. Question, do you need a PAC?

Could we Spam the Paper?

Not kidding here but a lot of little ads sprinkled throughout the paper might be a nice idea.

Is that doable? It might be fun to raise money for that and track it.

You do realize that by

You do realize that by putting something that should be positive in an area that is something negative you creat the wrong msg?

You should always get your ads in section A eg the 1st or main section only to get the most readership.

Most people do not read the entire paper and the goal should be to get as many types of people to see your msg and also how many 80 years olds are going to wait in the cold or drive in the snow to vote in a primary?

These are all things you need to think about, i am not telling you what to do i am just telling you where to get the most success from your ad.

placement...#2

the obits in the QCTimes always starts on page 7 section A. The political and editorials are on page 4. page 5 is QC area news and page 6 is what we're guaranteed.

Are you getting a pickup rate?

Did you get a contract rate? or an open rate?

Do you even know how to get guaranteed placement?

If you get stuck in the back of sports it won't do any good.

For anoyone that wants to run newspaper ads please talk to me first to get the best bang for your buck. You need to know what to ask and what to demand and how to get around it when you are told we don't guarantee placement.

I built a nationwide business on this and you should contact me at newspaper4paul@hotmail.com and if you are going to run an ad i will call you personally to tell you how to deal with a newspaper.

placement...

it is guaranteed to be placed by the obituaries....where all of us older folks go to see who we outlived everyday...heh

Eastern Iowa Ad - CHIP IN - HELP!!!

hi all,

the chip in for the QCTimes 1/4 page ad is now up and running.

this will be a full color ad and will run on Sunday and Wednesday for two weeks, starting on Sunday, December 16th- followed by Wednesday, Dec. 19th- Sunday, Dec. 23rd- and Wed. Dec. 26th. the deadline is 5pm the 12th...but the chipin deadline is sooner, to get the money out to pay for the ad.

it is a lot of money at $8,775, but it is less than 5 cents per reader (actually 2.5 cents per reader twice just for both Sundays). For the QCTimes quaranteed almost 150,000 subscriptions for Sunday's paper.

if all the money does not all come in it can be trimmed in half to about $4,300 for a one week run of Sunday and Wednesday (same size and color).

the "Chip-In" is at...

http://quadcityarearo...

(still have to finish editing the chip-in page)

i will need help spreading this link around at the forums online andi am working on putting it at "RonPaulGraphs",

be blessed with freedom and common sense,

Good idea and it's fixed now.

The problem is with radio is

The problem is with radio is that it take too long to get your msg out and 30 sec spots will not do it.

In newspaper we can put lots of info for people to see and re read if needed to understand what Dr. Paul stands for.

Also one radio station only covers a small portion of people where newspaper covers the mass majority of people in a given area.

If someone wants to start radio i am not against it but i have been doing newspaper and direct mail for over 10 years and am contracted with the largest medical company in the world for hearing products and they trust me eg: meaning i make them lots of money so i would hope everyone else would trust me too

Dr. Steve Parent

I donno, Doctor

Show me some evidence that the full page ad in USA Today had ANY effect on raising money. I didn't see anything on the contribution graphs to suggest that it did. Newspapers are dead. The best strategy is to produce content for the hungry TV media (see Noam Chompsky's analysis on PR departments and the media).

no offense but

that ad sucked. It started out as a great idea but was too much information for one Ad.

What was the primary goal of the ad?

Was the primary goal of the USA Today ad to increase monetary donations or to increase name recognition and votes for Ron? If it was the latter, no graph could convey how effective the ad was.

The main goal is attracting

The main goal is attracting voters to vote in the primary

More people that see Dr. Pauls msg will most likely donate as we all have.

What about radio?

My local news/talk radio has commercialss that say for the price of one Sunday newspaper ad you could do a whole week of radio ads.

If true, I'd certainly consider donating.

...let it not be said that we did nothing.

Passive Listening

One thing to note with say a 30 second radio ad is that if you are listening passively to the radio, not paying too much attention - say at work like I do - sometimes you will hear the tail end of something interesting.....WHOA, what was that?!

By the time you begin to realize what it is you are hearing, the ad is over and you are stuck.....do I call the station, or do I hope that I hear it again that day?

This has happened to me many times....which is not to say that it is bad, but when I'm concentrating on something, I can easily miss an ad.

As for papers....many people today have opted out of getting their daily local papers as they feel that they are not getting the truth. They've shut them off like the TV too so keep that in mind. (Yes, surprisingly I still get my daily rag though!)

What hit me in the face was seeing Ron Paul signs while driving and in unexpected places....a friendly shopkeeper, beauty salon, barber shop, supermarket bulletin board....

I find also that leaving flyers in trains, planes, buses, cabs is a great way too to get literature out there - littering I suppose! with the slim jims. (I think they are called.)

Just my thoughts.....

"Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom." Patrick Henry

Newspaper Ads for Iowa and NH?

How much more funds to you need to do ads in the local papers in these two key states?

We haven't collected a dime

We haven't collected a dime yet but to run in about 10 major papers in those 2 cities is was about $43,000 and that would reach about 4 million people in 1 day.

If you are interested in helping us i have a email untill we set up the web site at newspaper4paul@hotmail

email us and we will let you know when the site is up to donate.

Thank you

Dr.Steve

Dr. Steve, I'm glad to see

Dr. Steve, I'm glad to see that you're finally getting some response to what should be obvious to anybody is an absolutely splendid and worthwhile by any measure at all idea. I'm just sorry and amazed that it didn't happen immediately, since it is certainly one of the best ideas ever and especially what you're bringing to the table. We really MUST make certain that all the efforts of Dr. Steve and his staff on behalf of Dr. Paul and all the rest of us as well do not go to waste. Surely there are things we can do.

Dr. Steve on Blimp

Not sure of details on newspaper, but don't give up if will help RP efforts. As for the "Who is....," on the blimp, I totally agree that it is way too late in the campaign for that and have said so before. I am extremely disappointed with that.....not so much with the Revolution sign. It is still fitting. Google Ron Paul is ok too, I think. But, like you, have been in marketing and sales my entire life and don't think the "Who Is" is a mistake, I absolutely know that it is. And it is never too late to change a banner....even one on a blimp. This slogan will only help to assist the media in their best way to avoid people for voting for someone. And that is to tell people that they are wasting a vote by voting for an unknown and that can't win. There are no second chances for a first impression!

My Lyman, you are making a very, very big mistake and hope you will reconsider. Get the blimp going, but please change the message.

Hey, I'm NOT in advertising but having some semblance of a brain I can see that "Who is Ron Paul?" or "Google Ron Paul" are too of the stupidest phrases ever concocted. (sorry Trevor, I'm a big fan but it's true)
These slogans would make me walk away thinking, "What???" and "Who cares".

"Ron Paul - President 2008" or "Ron Paul for President 2008" or "Elect Ron Paul - President 2008" or even "Hope For America - Ron Paul" are obviously better choices. The other two aforementioned should never have been given a micrometer of consideration, IMHO.
