Is the economic collapse running late?

so i am wondering why the sudden collapse of the dollar and the martial law and chaos that comes with it hasn't come about yet. I recall many people declaring the urgency of preparing for the collapse that was right around the corner back in 08 around this time. I'm not saying the economy is doing particularly well at the moment, but the picture i formulated in my head of the state the country would be in by now based on the way people were talking last year hasn't really come to fruition. You know, the FEMA camp round ups, the run on everything, the using money to warm your house and wipe your ass, the sky rocket in crime rates. These are the type of scenarios i feel where being predicted weekly to have happened by now. it seems like the alert has gone down a lot since then. I guess i'm trying to ask how many out there are still waiting for the sthtf, with your stock pile of guns and gold. Where the attitudes back then a bit alarmist or is it still "just a matter of time." i started to stock pile some things last year and , to be honest, now i feel like a 2012 quack (no offense to the apocalypse predictors.) since society still remains perfectly intact today, no use for those 50 bars of soap. how much longer until the supposed inevitable collapse.

If only there would be a collapse.

we would be alot better off.Instead the fed will continue to flood monoploy money into the economy.ABC will continue propagate how the crisis is over and Bernakie will continue to be made a hero ..The rich will continue to be bailed out whille the poor will gradually get poorer .This is the plan for goverment and corporation become one and the freedom of American people will continue to erode. If your looking for a sudden collapse it will never arrive .The American people are being trained to put on their own dog collars. they wont be forced into them .,When the time arrives for the fema camps people will willingly gor to them for exchange of food. Realize this we are being trained like dogs to graple at the feet of the fed. and as long as they still throw us an bone from time to time we will continue to tear each other up for it.

Just sit back

and enjoy the show. It is a dog and pony show on now

It will come to you when

they present it to you; your line in the sand:

Taser session with a 'roid head.
Retinal scan to get your money.
Money is devalued overnight.
RFID to travel, buy or sell.
Naked machines for your daughter at the TSA checkpoint.
Internet go bye-bye.
Tracker/tax boxes in your car.
$15 gal. gasoline
Flu shots.
Permit to grow alfalfa sprouts in your window.
...or...Gimme da guns, boy.

Don't expect a revolution and/or meltdown to start at the same time for everyone. It never has....

Speaking only for myself here

there's so much to do and so little time to bitch and whine on internet forums. But if you're looking for someone to make a call, it's been said that it will be a cold winter for the US Dollar. Now does that mean Halloween or Thanksgiving or December 21? It doesn't matter. The fundamental laws of economics (nature) have been speaking to us for a long time, and those laws can't be repealed by the Congress. Consequences cannot be avoided. Be grateful for each fine day, take nothing for granted.

I agree.... prepare while

I agree.... prepare while there is still time.

If the dollar collapse happened tomorrow

would you still be saying "about time, that took so long", or would it still be like "wow, already so soon after the INITIAL problems on wall street just one short year ago". I think the latter, because most people here recognize that this stuff takes time and while it took more than a year to build rome it will take more than a year to tear it down.

Remember, even in Weimar Republic when they were using their paper money to start fires, it still took a few years for it to get that bad, and the first couple years weren't all too horrible. It takes awhile my friend.

Is anyone hoping for

Is anyone hoping for economic collapse? Maybe that is a horrible thought but the way I look at it, nothing will change unless something life-changing happens. If economic collapse is the way to move from keynesian economics to austrian economics and sound money, I will take it even though it might cause pain. I am young so maybe I sound a bit juvenile but its just a thought...

Okay, Gandalf

Okay, Gandalf

He has a point...

We've already been thrown out of the airplane.

Does it really matter how long it is going to take before we hit the ground?

No, I was just responding to

No, I was just responding to him and mocking his attempt to be clever, which was somewhat successful but a little cheesy. Although, I do think having a sense of time is beneficial. If you were stuck waiting for a subway or stuck in traffic on a highway, you'd want to know the situation so you could plan accordingly and/or alter your plan.

I caught that later...

because I seem to not be a member of the LOTR generation.. :(

I have the chessboard tho!

I understand your comment about sense of time, but in my analogy you should have already had a parachute... :)

The warnings were out there.

Sorry we can't hasten the bloom for you, briefcase...

But if what you are saying is true, that you have begun to put things aside for a rainy day... soap, a little silver, food, batteries, etc., then the DailyPaul has indeed made a difference.

The purpose of being prepared, my friend is to be prepared. It is not a matter of a specific date.

Now that you're prepared, get more prepared.

Solar power battery charger.

wasn't sure if it was going to work but it did! I used it to charge my rechargeable camera batteries the other day, getting ready to buy a berkey filter next.

Of course there's a use for your

50 bars of soap unless you have stopped getting dirty. Just think, you won't have to buy any more for a long time!

Mid October ( Found another site with similar info)

The common date by those supposedly in the know is mid October. That is when the writing will be on the wall or some such prediction.

new creepy info:
Has anybody seen this site - It is more cryptic than jsmineset

By my clock, yes

I've been stocked up for almost a year......BUT preparations are never done. Soooo, harvesting the garden, buying more bullets, no debt, nothing's wrong with that. Say we have a freak storm in CT....my family is good to go.
Back to checking the watch, it's slow coming but it's coming. Dollar printing at 187% this year??? This will come down, maybe slow, maybe fast. They are staving it off, but it'll fall.....
Just gives us more time to get ready, and I'm thankful for that part. On the other hand, let's just do it already. Chips fall where they may.....I want to see where my chips land.

How did your garden grow this year?

Well, I hope.

My garden was a bust, since you ask.........

I'm In CT, and we had an awful rainy may and june........record breaking.......sun broke a few times in july. I had 75 tomato plants and I have 2 left due to blight. Bad. Pulled my potatoes early to avoid same blight..
Collards did well and are tasty cooked in veal broth............brussels sprouts look good to go. It was all the summer crops that did so poorly.
Somme good spaghetti, delicata, and hubbard squash to be pulled.......

I was afraid you might ask

The blooming bushes, fruit trees and flowers exploded this year, and they're still kicking ass. The vegetables were disappointing, to say the least. Zuchini, spaghetti & other squash are starting to kick in finally. Tomatoes were a bust. Thankfully I have a friend who put up a small plastic greenhouse this year, or I might not know what a fresh tomato tastes like. the biggest heartbreaker was my herb crop. Mint, basil, theyme, rosemary were all robust, but my favorite herb did a no-show this year. 40 germinations and only one plant which turned out to be male.

Oh forgot this part

we had a double yield of blueberries......picking daily from 7/`5 to 8/`5. Amazing,,,,,,,,,

On the berry front

we had raspberries for the first time in 8 years. Strawberries were few but very tasty. And I had nothing to do with this, but the wildflowers in the high country were incredible and the wild strawberries were other-worldly. It really makes me wonder what kind of crap they put on the ones in the grocery store, so large and lacking in taste. Ain't that America...

Trying really hard to write back

but among the bad crops, my favorite herb did tremendously. I cannot explain it. I had two males, which I pulled and replanted elsewhere. I also read that the male plants are quite useful.,,,,
like I said the other sun loving plants did poorly but this crop is splendid.

I'm happy for you

New and fresh is always exciting. Fortunately last year was such a blessing I'm still quite flush. It's really hard to find things to bitch about, other than banksters and politicians.

I'm in Oklahoma...

and had probably the shortest growing season on record.

Our cukes and tomatos suffered... :(

It's that global warming thing!

erm.. or cooling thing!

~Live life to its fullest, with an open heart, open arms and most important... an open mind~

Even in OK?

I thought you would have tomatoes from June through October.

You know, if we all learned how to breathe less, we could end global warming (which is causing this mini ice age).

My cucumbers

are like diametrical quarters. Yikes.
