I Want Economic Disaster

Is anyone hoping for economic collapse? Maybe that is a horrible thought but the way I look at it, nothing will change unless something life and mind-changing happens. If economic collapse is the way to move from keynesian economics to austrian economics and sound money, I will take it even though it might cause pain. I am young so maybe I sound a bit juvenile but its just a thought...

Okay, I see where everyone
Okay, I see where everyone is coming from. Look at how far we have come already. In roughly two years we have gone from a handful of freedom lovers and Ron Paul to millions of freedom lovers, Ron Paul, and large scoop of candidates. Many people, including myself, latched onto the 'revolution' because the economic talk made complete sense.
In less than a year, our country went from loving the federal reserve to hating and/or becoming very suspicious of its secretive activities. Do you think that without the DailyPaul and our activism with Hr 1207 and various C4L events and tea parties, the country would ever think of hating the fed? And looking more into the past, do you think we would have made it this far without any economic turmoil? I remember Ron Paul saying that he submitted an audit the federal reserve bill many times over his career without ever having much support.
So as much as I hate depressions, recessions, down stock market, hyperinflation, and economic disasters of any kind, what does it take to change the minds of our stubborn and sheep-like demographic? Maybe economic collapse is the only way...look how far we have come already.
I understand how you feel
I understand how you feel and find myself wanting it too at times. However be careful what you wish for.
The problem as I see it is we simply are not prepared for such a collapse. Just hoping a collapse will bring us freedom and a new start is naive and short sited. The only way that would happen is if we were prepared to make it happen. Hoping enough sheep will wake up when it collapses and help us rebuild a free country is not a very reliable strategy.
If you look at history also collapses have always been followed by more authoritarian regimes not free ones. It will be an ugly dangerous time for us and many people will sell out thier own family for a meal. It will be a time when we would be most vulnerable to a dictatorship. Any Vet who has seen a war torn country will tell you we want avoid those kinds of circumstances if possible.

No
No sorry, I don't hope for that.
Here's the most important
Here's the most important thing to say to this:
Economic collapse or not, nothing will change, which is really saying people will not change unless people want to and understand what happen. It's not a criticism of society. This is how we operate. All an economic collapse would do is create more anxiety and hysteria and problems. Will some learn? Will some things change? Yeah, probably. Will big things change? Maybe, but probably not. You need to look no further than what has happened in direct response to the "economic collapse" last year. Some people woke up and learned some things. However, not really actually. You get a feel good dynamic going again and the same people interested and changing behavior will go right back to not being interested and their old behavior. The change has to come internally via understanding something is really dysfunctional and a desire to do something about that. There does not exist another possible way. That's the down side to free will in us.
You're Just a Little Confused
Not all forms of "collapse" which might lead to a return of sound money and free market principles would necessarily qualify as a "disaster."
When the Soviet Union fell there was virtually no bloodshed and folks welcomed the change. Unfortunately they squandered the opportunity and new dark forces seem to be at work in Russia and the other former Soviet Republics.
If and when we get a "reset" in the US, we the people must have the strength of character to follow through and build a new and better system that grows from the ground up and draws its structure from the freedom of the individual.
Those who are able to see what people need and how to make that happen will be our leaders. The entrepreneur will reign by marshaling the voluntary contributions of his neighbors. When the crisis has passed we must not return to rule by moochers and looters.

having one right now, you can have it. :p
The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
If the collapse brings
renewed freedom and hope for America once again, then bring it on. But if it means martial law and a more oppressive government, oh no.
Dude, no.
Do you know what would happen to all the people you know if there is an Economic Collapse?
Goodbye DailyPaul, goodbye friends and neighbors
I'm thinking about all of my family who are not awake, not willing to listen and not capable of dealing if it all goes to hell. These are the people that will suffer the most.
Collapse is what we are fighting against, it's our duty to make sure it doesn't happen.
For the ones that are asleep, we are fighting for them.
He has a point.
A collapse is inevitable, actually. You know enough about a fiat system to know what unsustainable means.
The only thing that is going to make a difference is how we crawl out of it... and the younger generation needs to be the one to deal with it the most.
Don't take the IMF credit that will be offered America for her debt... take responsibility for yourself and your own actions.
Take your representitives to task on that one... stand firm.
Do that and the Republic will live... do not and be enslaved until you break free.

It IS inevitable
who knows when is anybody's guess.......
that's the deal. It's imminent, but how imminent?

There is no way we are going to fend off the IMF credit when it is offered. I am still hopefull that after we Audit the Fed, it will die and we can return to hard money, but I realize I have lofty and unrealistic dreams
This topic does need to be discussed, because I know you are right on this. We need L.E.M.A. "Liberty Emergency Management Agency"
Would be nice to start fresh if you ask me -- but I don't know
I may just be young and stupid too. lol
What are you fightin' for?
Caught in the middle?
Freedom is only for those with the guts to defend it!
