Rand is the man! In my

Rand is the man!

In my humble opinion, Rand is better at politics than his father for one simple characteristic... he's more articulate!

I'm not saying he's smarter, just better at word control.

Dad is the big thinker but son can spit it out better....

Ron Paul in the trenches!

Like father like son with subtle fire in the belly.

Love and Peace

Believe me, I don't need a

Believe me, I don't need a history lesson about Ron Paul.

The fact is, he's getting up there in the years and we need someone to take the flag and his son seems up for the job!!!

Yeah! He luckily is!

Yeah! He luckily is!

Joe Scarborough is the man

for having Ron, Rand, and Peter on his show a good amount of times. If Joe would run i'd vote for him.

I think he is doing a great

I think he is doing a great job. He is talking at kintergarden level, making the voters feel all warm and fuzzy inside, while at the same time, telling the TRUTH, like his dad. His dad talked to everyone assuming they were thinking intelligent beings. See where that got him.

Yep -

Ease 'em into it.

I agree with Revere1776

Rand had a perfect opportunity to answer Pat's question by saying, "Let's end the warfare state!" Rand never mentions a thing about our bloated empire and foreign policy. He beats around the bush too much and he's not going to be respected for that, and he's probably going to lose. He should be giving them hell every step of the way and letting the chips fall where they may. He's more concerned about winning than getting the message out, and because of that, he is going to fail at both.

I agree with you and Revere, Rand must

begin to show some fire, to convince people, to get into specifics, get out of the generalizations, take some risks -- otherwise he blends into the grey mass of politicians. the grassroots needs to be inspired by a candidate to work hard and continue donating.

If Rand insists on playing

If Rand insists on playing the nice middle of the road Republican he's going to LOSE. "C -" on spending and "A" on tax cuts?! Is he serious?! People aren't screaming and yelling at Tea Parties because of the "debt" I'm sorry. They're pissed off, as we all are, because we live in a one party system that's absolutely GUTTING every semblance of what's left of our free society out from under us every day.

If Rand doesn't discover his radicalism soon I don't think he has any hope of beating an establishment Republicrat. If you think he's just "playing safe" in order to get elected I'd encourage you to watch what Murray Rothbard warned for the Libertarian Party. If the choice is between a heavily supported establishment hack and a moderate outsider that you may agree with more, the establishment hack will win EVERY time.

Ideas are what matter in the long run, not trying to avoid offending/pleasing everyone.

I feel your pain but those

I feel your pain but those people at the Tea Parties can't get him elected alone. He needs my Mother and Grandmother's vote and they will not vote for a guy standing up on the soapbox spitting venom....

I understand your point

I understand your point bigsurjune but I'm not calling for a soapbox venomous explosion, I'm merely echoing the warning (that has come true btw) of Murray Rothbard against attempting to fit in the mainstream when your message is INDEED radical given our current circumstances. The Libertarian Party is officially dead because they watered down their message to curry favor in the mainstream. They ended up losing voters AND mainstream coverage in the process.

If he's going to make the "I'm worried about the debt" talking point his focus he's absolutely going to get beat because EVERY talking-out-of-their-ass Republican is saying the same exact thing.

What turned so many of us to Ron Paul was his unwavering boldness about not just cutting taxes but ABOLISHING the IRS and income tax, not just ending the war in Iraq but ending the empire all together, etc.

I hope you're right my friend, but this guy worries me. He seems to think he can win by distancing himself from his father and I don't think it'll gain him support. I find Schiff FAR more true to the Ron Paul and austrian economics movement.

Ya, his mentioning that

Ya, his mentioning that other Republicans feel they've gotten an A on cuts and a C- on spending was a missed opportunity for him to call out the ridiculousness. But there's nothing wrong with playing it safe early. I'm not politician, but it seems like the hardest punches should be saved for last.
