I am so happy I could just cry....

My day was like all other days until I went to pick up my 7 year old son from school. Out of the blue, he tells me that the Constitution is the most important thing in America and informs me that his school actually celebrated constitution day... Now I know its sad when you can get excited that your child was actually told about the constitution, but seeing the excitement that he had when he was telling me filed me with great hope.. To hear a 7 year old tell me how important the 1st amendment was just a huge shock... Sorry for the pointless thread. I just thought that I would share this with you... Have a great night patriots.

That was beautiful

Im so glad you shared that with us...give your son a big hug from us all and let him know we are proud of him too

I just had a thought..that might not belong here but..oh well..its on my mind
Who here can make/print greeting cards?
Why not try it..and sale them...the money can in part go back to the person/s making them to defer cost...the rest can go to support those we believe will make a difference..like the first 100.00 or 1000.00 would go to Rand Paul...and so on
The greeting cards could have things like..the Constitution..the Founding Fathers...the signing of the Declaration of Independence...add in a few from across the pond we admire...Guy Fawkes for example
The feds may not want us to remember and celebrate these important days....but who cares what they want....we could send them a nice card to make them feel..........the love we have for freedom and the loathing we have for them

Freedom is another way to God...A corrupt government is a straight way to hell.

Nothing pointless

about your thread? That is great! I can't wait for more kids to go home and teach their parents about the constitution. Teachers should make reading the constitution to your parents a homework assignment.
Give that little patriot a hug for me!

This is good news. Now

This is good news. Now let's hope all the teachers in America actually understand the Constitution so that they can pass that knowledge on to the children.

What happens when the Constitution goes the way of Santa Claus?

My realization that DC does not repect the constitution came over the last few years of hanging on Ron Paul's words. I still believe, but it's all different now. I am sure the rest of you understand what I mean.

Not to burst your bubble...

But I also have kids in elementary school and was happy, at first, to receive a note from one of the kids' teachers on Wednesday that they would be celebrating Constitution Day at school, but could we please dress the kids in red white and blue. With such short notice, I tried my best. Off my two boys went with their pocket constitutions. But my daughter came home after school today feeling less "patriotic" than the other kids that were decked out in shirts with flags and dressed all in red, white and blue. I told her, honey, that's the whole point of the Constitution - you are free to wear whatever colors you want and not feel you have to wear the colors the school or anyone else tells you to wear. So, that's my two cents.

You know school is such a big and tramatic

thing for children I can sympathize with what you are dealing with and think you explained it properly for her.

but it's so unfortunate and very ironic that the "dress code" takes away from the whole meaning of the day. See what I mean?

Sometimes I think public school does more harm than good!

You know the number one subject is sports, it trumps every thing else, so really most schools are really sports training camps.

its not pointless!!

It's magnificent

Thanks for sharing!

It's comforting to know that not all hope is lost! :)

Patriot pat on the back, for the young lad..

Good job..I'm glad the school talks about such underground topics. :)

Tell your son that there are

Tell your son that there are people all around the country that are very proud of him.

oh and by the way Mommy, I would send a thank you letter to the teacher and principle of the school. Let them know to keep teaching those things.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

not pointless at all...

looking at our chilldren we view the future through the lenses of our own past.

Must have been a great feeling... :)

On another note, you also need to remember that a 7-year old boy should know one other thing from his Dad...

Thank you for sharing this.

Let Jonathan know that it is up to all of us, including him, to protect the freedoms enshrined in the constitution.

Tell him that we are all trying our best for him,

And show him this oldie but goodie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG2PUZoukfA

A big bump.....

for the little patriot.

Imagine if kids had a knee

Imagine if kids had a knee jerk reaction to support the constitution rather than a knee jerk reaction to support FDR and any/all government.

Wow, I vote this the most

positive thread today. It gave me a smile and I really needed to smile today.
Thank you, for sharing this important information with us. We need positive news and there is nothing more positive than to hear the younger generation LEARN HOW IMPORTANT THE CONSTITUTION IS.

Thats great!

Maybe you should sent a note of appreciation to his teacher and principal? It may lead to more schools following suit!

This is great! Thank you for sharing!

Dear Jonathon

You Dad told us that you came home from school today telling him all about your class studying the constitution. He said you were so excited to learn about the constitution and how important it is to us as individuals and families.

I hope you will continue to learn about this amazing document that our forefathers created. It will help you and your children continue to enjoy the rights and freedoms that the people of this country have enjoyed for the last two hundred years. Just as your Dad is so proud of you today and had to write and tell us, I hope one day you will have the same chance to explain these precious freedoms to your son.
