I only skimmed through the article. You're right in that it's BS, but most people won't see clearly enough to know that.

Personally, my retirement strategy is to look at it from the viewpoint that SS won't even be there. This way, if anything does come of it then it will simply be a bonus on top of my own personal preparations.

Someone already said criminal or I would have.. This is crap.. I would never advise a client to depend on s.s as a "cornerstone"... Your 401(k) should be.. IMO this is designed to steer the public away from tax deferred investment vehicles.. Someone wants to increase their tax revenues....
