Just went through a DUI checkpoint tonight - questioned by Russian officer (with audio)

Here is the audio of our encounter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoOvuufvLdQ

I love how they try to trap you into saying something or make it seem like you did something wrong. It was strange to me that the K-9 officer seemed to be hiding a Russian accent.

I was just checking things out in town when I ran into this thing and just happened to have my camcorder recording the whole time

Are these checkpoints constitutional? Why do we put up with this informal interrogation?

This was in Pennsylvania - near Philadelphia's border

There are plain clothed

There are plain clothed coalition officers all over the country who work with out our knowledge.. I have heard several stories of this experience..
It is apparent that foreign personnel are learning & infiltrating our infrastucture & how our citizenry works at a personal level, becoming one with the people.

impailed2x,

would you have a source, or a link, for this information,

which could lend some credibility to your statement?

"I have heard several stories" .... I have heard that there is a Santa Claus, and an Easter bunny!

Didn't sound like much at all.

It seems you even complied with all his requests (roll down your window...license, registration, insurance....etc.) all without even asking why you were being stopped. Not much of a confrontation.

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

i had a similiar experience

with Solebury Township (Pa.) police at one of their checkpoints.
even with a truck full of kayaks i had to explain my "purpose" for driving on rt.32 (RIVER ROAD) not 5 miles from where George Washington led the troops across the river to win our freedom.

needless to say i was more than a little annoyed. these dui checkpoints are slowly morphing into just plain checkpoints.

What was up

with the answers not being appropriate? What were you supposed to say?

That is strange

I seem to have missed the 'Russian' connection

in this post.

And my camcorder records audio, and video!

What am I missing here?

You said TOO MUCH...

Watch this video, I think posted on DP before, but it is a MUST SEE for all.

Of course, it's EASY for me to tell you not to say anything, not sure I'd have the balls to try to claim my rights if faced with the same situation.

I went through one of those

I went through one of those about 3 weeks ago.. funny thing was the man who is a very good friend of mine was in the truck with me and is a major for the colorado state patrol.. he did not appreciate that the arvada and golden police deptments did not inform him they were doing this... kinda funny. plus the motor cycle cops a mile or so down the road were sitting in the dark with no parking lights on.. he told me that was illegal..

Near the Philadelphia Naval Yards?

Should have asked him to show you the Nuclear Wessels.

:)

"That's what I said, Alameda."

Good for you

Bump for Springfield

My old roomate Rob R. is from there, cool town, great people

Why does he need to know where you were coming from? I didn't like his tone, you handled it well. Keep letting them know we're annoyed about the invasion of privacy and assumed guilt.
