Anti-ACORN Bill Could De-Fund the Entire Military Industrial Complex!

The congressional legislation intended to defund ACORN, passed with broad bipartisan support, is written so broadly that it applies to "any organization" that has been charged with breaking federal or state election laws, lobbying disclosure laws, campaign finance laws or filing fraudulent paperwork with any federal or state agency. It also applies to any of the employees, contractors or other folks affiliated with a group charged with any of those things.

In other words, the bill could plausibly defund the entire military-industrial complex. Whoops.

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) picked up on the legislative overreach and asked the Project on Government Oversight (POGO) to sift through its database to find which contractors might be caught in the ACORN net.

Lockheed Martin and Northrop Gumman both popped up quickly, with 20 fraud cases between them, and the longer list is a Who's Who of weapons manufacturers and defense contractors.

Grayson is awesome ....

Now if we can only convince him that eliminating the income tax and social spending by the federal government would actually benefit the needy.

This guy, I like, a lot.

He will be a slave to no one, especially his party.

Now if I can only convince the freshman Democrat congressman from my district to follow suit.

WAHOR!!

Why are all these private companies

getting federal money? I thought the de-funding bill was for the grants being handed out by Uncle Sam. If this bill threatens all business the Gov't conducts with EVERYONE, then the entire bill will be defeated and ACORN will continue on it's merry way with our money.

Because it is fascist Public Private Partnerships PPP

The US Gove with 0 instances of misconduct and 0 misconduct $.

Irony is that all the misconduct instances that ocurred was because the government made it possible.

Don't pop the champagne yet..

The SCOTUS will prudently maintain the status quo when the matter of this bill's interpretation comes before it.

If this bill covers all the corrupt

organizations, ACORN will have been of some good use after all.

So true!

Won't that be the greatest irony of all... The US of A saved by ACORN.... lol!

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Watch how it plays out though... The MIC is the intstrument

Thomas Jefferson once said, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground."

Well, I guess he called that one.

Then let them be "caught" too.

If they are perpetrating fraud, they get the boot.
To hell with them.
