McCain on MTV! Gets Asked about Ron Paul!
Submitted by aa787 on Mon, 12/03/2007 - 22:34
McCain is doing a question and answer sessions on MTV. And somebody just asked him how does he explain that Ron Paul gets more monetary support from the military. It completely threw him off and he just disregarded the statistics.

Boy McCain is a nut do you trust him with the button

Former Italian President and the man who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio Francesco Cossiga has gone public on 9/11, telling Italy's most respected newspaper that the attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad and that this was common knowledge amongst global intelligence agencies.

Lt. Watada
Im not sure if you guys know about the case about Lt. Watada who refused to deploy to Iraq back June 2006. He got court marshaled and he won. Not that his viewpoint is the same as the entire military, but it goes to show that not all of the military agrees with the war. Im surprised Ron Paul has never mentioned him. Read more about him here:

At the bottom of the article is a comments section in which you can request them to give "Ron" some equal time. It almost seemed to me watching that question being raised "on IM" that the moderator WANTED McCain to stumble on his response to Ron...which of course he did, coming across as an angry old man.
Let's SWAMP them with requests to get Ron on there as we KNOW how well Ron plays to young people!!!
No need.
He is already scheduled to be on. No date yet.
They will get all the candidates on there. See my other comment in this thread for a link.
debate??
It would be fun to watch RP debate McCain. McCain would look so stupid!!!
I am a US Army Soldier
I am a US Army Soldier and I support Ron Paul. But let me say something about politicians and journalists who talk to soldiers. When politicians and journalists visit military bases and talk to soldiers we are expected to pretty much tell them what they and/or our commander and chief wants to hear. If a soldier goes on the Stars and Stripes (military newspaper) talking about how he is against the Iraq War he might get an Article 15 (like a misdemeanor in the Uniform Code of Military Justice).
We even get briefings and classes by our Public Affairs department explaining to us how to talk to the media. Because the military has an image that it wants maintained at all times. And they dont want their views spun and distorted by the media.
So if a senator like John McCain, who serves on the Armed Services Committee, came to my base on Thanksgiving and asked me about the Iraq War, then I would definately tell him how I support it and want to win the War On Terror at ALL COSTS! Otherwise, my career might be put into jeopardy. ALWAYS BE WARY OF WHAT SOLDIERS SAY TO THE MEDIA! HALF THE TIME, ITS NOT WHAT THEY REALLY THINK! Soldiers giving money to a somebody presidential campaign on the other hand, thats real genuine support. Nobody forced a soldier to do that!
I agree, good point. We
I agree, good point. We need Dr. Paul to be informed about this to formulate a response to future questions regarding McCain's attacks. Someone send an e-mail to the campaign!
Hmmmm
You make an excellent point !
Orwell1984, So I hear...
I have buddies who served as well and they echoed your exact sentiments. In fact there have been numerous occasions where certain soldiers were chosen for photo-ops due to minority status or just "good looking" for a camera (midwest, farmboy, all-American types) even though they did not WANT to be standing next to "whoever" for the shot, but like a good soldier, they did as they were instructed.
Your point is an excellent one and I hope gets some traction from those now out of the service and able to speak freely about this!
Hey now
Don't go stereotyping us midwest farmboys. I'm currently deployed to Qatar in the USAF and I refuse to pose a fake image for anyone. Too much pride, I guess.
Delusional
...just like the rest of the neocons.
It is YOU, Mr. McCain, that is WRONG about Iraq. This is incontrovertible, and readily apparent to anyone, who is without a vested interest in maintaining the status quo, to the exclusion of all morality and reason.

I think it would be a good
I think it would be a good idea to get Ron Paul on MTV if possible. He has a great young following and maybe he could get some more younger voters interested in politics. I give respect to McCain (despite his cheap shots at Paul), but Ron Paul would do much better in this situation because he has way more personality and can connect with the audience. I'm surprised they haven't already invited him. What do you guys think?
Also, did anyone see the
Also, did anyone see the news on CNN yesterday about evidence that Iran stopped their nuclear program a long time ago? I didn't catch all of it, but it seems like this information could work to Dr. Paul's benefit considering he endorses more communication between countries.
Bush is on ABC right now
on a press conference...
Ron Paul is going to be on in 50 minutes on the view.
OK, who do we email at MTV to get RON on there?!
Anyone...anyone...Bueller...?
Someone has something on McCain
McCain got me interested in politics again in 2000. He had a lot of fire and didn't hold anything back. Now he acts like a victim of domestic abuse. I think Carl Rove dug up some dirt on him and they're blackmailing him.

The troops just do as they
The troops just do as they are told, it is the culture of conformity. Just because the troops think they are fighting for our freedom in Iraq doesn't make it so, either.

McCain looks crazy
Wow. He was scary there. He comes across as a bitter and delusional old man, walking around the stage muttering about how he is right and Paul is wrong. It doesn't even make any sense. Of course the troops that talk to him are going to be supportive of the war, just as the troops that talk to Paul are going to be against the war. I'd be scared to have McCain as President. The guy has lost it.

A proposition!
I suggest that if we do another money bomb after 12/16 - instead of Rudy's Reading List, this time we do McCain's Reading List (or something to that effect). Somebody needs a little history lesson!
nah...
why pick a fight with someone with no shot?
I thought you only pick fights with people polling better than you.

McCain
You are right, McCain is done. I was at the Mahaffey theater Wed. night, in the balcony. I was sitting with a Giuliani supporter, with Ron Paul buddies behind me. We all nodded together after McCains first statement, he is sad, in a loss of some sort, he is done, cooked, over with. He gave Ron Paul the best possible attack, and Dr. Paul hit a grand slam home run. The bump is enormous. During our sign wave this past weekend, over two days, the traffic response was like nothing I have ever seen. The percentage of smiles, thumbs ups, raised fists, Peace signs, honks, and stops for slim jims and bumper stickers, was WAY up from 2 weeks ago. We are definately surging going into Christmas. Tea Party? Time to double up, everybody. I'm doing $200. Want to join me?

Awesome!!
I wish I had seen it ... what a GREAT question to ask him! I know McCain had one of those presidential myspace things yesterday - does anyone know how that went? I went to the page beforehand and it seemed as though there were quite a few RP supporters ready to pose some questions!!
