Michael Moore Attacks ABC While Promoting Captialism: A Love Story
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY1pcoBWp3Q
I was watching Sicko just the other day and think that Moore asks some really hard questions about the system we have and how systems work abroad but often mixes his ideas with false solutions or misinformation (not as much as I expected however). I overall think that Sicko was far less controversial than I imagined and I actually learned something.
Now we have his epic work Capitalism: A Love Story to wrestle with. From the surface it appears that it will be a decent film which may serve to wake many people up to our current crisis. However, what solutions will be given and what kinds of ignorant statements about our free market system will be made? From the interviews its not looking pretty. Moore appears to be fighting the same beasts as we are but he'd rather see a departure from our foundations rather a return. It frightens me to see how effectively he is muddying the waters we are fighting in.

The movie should be called
The movie should be called Capitalism aka Feudalism: A love Story.
Educate yourself on the real system of money we have now. It's nothing like reasonable capitalism.
Feudalism aka American Capitalism

Michael
knows he's being lied to and he knows things are corrupt and he blames the same thing the Federal Reserve and the bankers do, capitalism. If government would just get bigger we could solve all our problems, not.
Michael is a product of the propaganda and he'll get people riled up to do absolutely nothing because he's blaming an innocent system. He's the diversion, the smoke screen the bait and switch. He's the arrow sign that is on a loose nail and now points in a different direction.
If Michael Moore did his research
then his entire movie Capitalism should be about how the system we live in is NOT capitalism or even close to it. I am also expecting an in-depth dissection of the Federal Reserve in his movie.

I've got a date
I am inviting all my liberal friends to come and see Moore's movie with me. I have been watching the trailers and the YouTubes about the film. I am convinced Moore knows NOTHING about capitalism and that he is calling corpratism, capitalism. I see he is attacking the banks. So this is a good place to start.
I invite everyone here to join me on my date with Michael Moore's movie. I'm going to dress like what I think a liberal thinks a capitalist looks like, and then I'm going to hold my breath, takes deep breathes, whatever it takes to not scream out: RON PAUL, or END THE FED.. because I plan to leave the film just before I see who is so stupid as Michael Moore to think capitalism is corporatism (or maybe it's not stupid, just evil).. andyways, I'm going to pass out business size cards that read: Ron Paul End The Fed maybe someone here has a better idea... but the movie doesn't come out to Oct 2nd, It will be packed, and I fully plan to take complete advantage of the captive audience and teach them a thing or two!
Join me in spirit... Do it for RP.

A new group has been formed...
....it's called "Moore-On".
The members of it aren't much different than the Beckers and Baggers.
you mean
moron...
If Capitalism is so bad
then Michael Moore should have no problem with his movie being spread on the internet for free! He should promote copying the movie for free and showing it at gatherings across the country in living rooms, town halls and campuses, where the information and solutions can be discussed and debated.
Put your money where your mouth is Mr Moore.

To be fair
He hasn't really revealed the form of control he would like to see yet. You're on to something though. What if someone passed out copies of his film outside of the theatre to save them from the capitalists charging them $10 to $15 dollars a pop. Sounds like a job for Bureaucrash. Anyone ever seen the film of them at the Sicko premiere. Classic!

Moore's movie is a spoff on
Moore's movie is a spoff on Capitalism..look it over again ..It gets rather sickening towards the end...
Good people do Good deeds
Good people make it happen
We've
Got Beck's.Moore's,Jone's, and the MSM attacking us. Hmmm. I like the odds.
Milton Friedman
Wish he were still alive and would do a debate with Moore... It's so hard to explain the benefits of capitalism when it's getting beat up so badly.
He said:
1. Price does not discriminate - does not matter who it was made by and consumers do not discriminate against race because we are buying off quality and price.
2. You always spend your money the wisest and someone elses foolishly. I had the best on the menu when I could expense my meal through my company.
3. Then there's the question of greed...

Milton is the best and I wish he were still around...
Glad he's not.
Von Mises would've been much better at annihilating his "arguments".
Now that was a great video of Milton Friedman at his best.
Of course his worst-- the "withholding tax" outweights his best.

fallacies in sicko and in capitalism
in sicko his false premise was that since people live longer overseas, and are healthier, then he thinks therefore their health care must be superior.
but if people in colorado live longer than people in florida, that doesn't mean colorado has better insurance. that doesn't mean colorado has better hospitals. the two are not necessarily related. healthiness comes first. health care is provided latter.
the fact remains, that you are better odds living in America if you ever come down with a major problem -- even if Americans are unhealthier.
in his new flick he re-defines corporatism and calls it capitalism.
it's kind of like saying pencils are responsible for misspelling words. and going and making a documentary about how pencils are running amok in this country with their bad literature, etc...
or a better example. it's like saying whatever destroyed heroshima is very destructive. airplanes destroyed hiroshima. therefore, airplanes are very destructive
"in his new flick he re-defines corporatism
and calls it capitalism."
i would submit he genuinely does not know the difference.
i hear the same argument from lefties all the time.
"The two weakest arguments for any issue on the House floor are moral and constitutional"
Ron Paul
or worse
he does know the difference. and is uses thing knowledge to divide and conquer.
i'm afraid no matter which of us is correct
the result will be the same.
"The two weakest arguments for any issue on the House floor are moral and constitutional"
Ron Paul
From my experience with Moore's work
I would say that I believe he is genuine. I think there are topics like this one however where he is completely out of his element. He can poke fun and sees some idea of those causing the problems but his solutions include more government or dismantling the fundamental system that has gotten us where we are today, the very place where a Michael Moore can make movies that have promise but in one way or another fall short because of bad ideology. If you depart from any aspect of our civil rights as human beings then the system is corrupted and will eventually fall apart. You can't pick and choose the parts of the Constitution you like without radically distorting the country and our ability to preserve Iife, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I agree with you to a certain extent, but
to say that if people live longer in Colorado as opposed to Florida, for example, it does not mean people have better insurance, nor better hospitals, necessarily. True health stems from a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating and work and recreation, all of which the majority in Colorado and other "outdoor, natural states" would tend towards, where other parts of the country (mainly in large cities) would have a greater dependance on "the system" instead of a self sustaining, healthy lifestyle. Good hospitals are very important in critical care, injuries..., but the dependence on health insurance, doctors and hospitals will not make you healthy, only pure food and healthy living will.
thats absolutely right
but moore begs the question, and would have you believe that your health is dependent on an external "health" system.
