Big Turnout for the Little Texan: Ron Paul at the U

If you think speeches attacking the U.S. Federal Reserve couldn't excite a Friday night crowd on a college campus, think again.
About 2,000 people -- students and older adults who were in the majority -- filled Northrop Auditorium at the University of Minnesota to cheer libertarian Rep. Ron Paul, a Texas Republican, as he joined Rep. Michele Bachmann to preach the gospel of a less powerful federal government.
Before Bachmann, R-Minn., introduced Paul, she hailed legislation of his that would require a detailed audit of the Fed. The crowd jumped to its feet and roared approval.
When she described the Fed's actions helping the banking industry as "shrouded in secrecy," one man jumped up and yelled, "Ponzi scheme!"
Paul came onstage to a standing ovation, and he quickly denounced the government's actions in dealing with the financial crisis.

I think it was just a play on the word
The article itself summed up the evening in more then just a few paragraphs, so kudos to the reporter for taking the extra time to summarize the various parts of the event and it also noted some of the differences between Michelle and Dr. Paul. It was kind of a curious combination to see them talking together, but nonetheless it was a nice cordial evening.

5'11" minimum
I have a side by side photo with RP. He is minimum of 5'11" tall. His wife claims that he has the same waist size he had when she met him. So while he is a bit above average in height, he might seem physically slight by being trim for his age.

"Little Texan" line ? ...There were approx 4000 people at this shindig, and on a Friday night on a college campus...I'd like to see Mitt, McCain, Huckleberry, Hillary draw like this ?? It would be a chirpfest.
