US, China & Russian Military Strength Compared
Submitted by Ralph Waldo on Sun, 09/27/2009 - 14:23There seems to be a lot of confusion about how US military strength compares to that of China and Russia. Here are a few of the main categories from 2009 as well as a reference for more info.
Military Defense Spending and Budgets
USA - $515,400,000,000
China - $59,000,000,000
Russia - $43,200,000,000
Aerial-Based Weapons
USA - 18,169
China - 1,900
Russia - 3,888
Navy Ships
USA - 1559
China - 760
Russia - 526
Aircraft Carriers
USA - 12
China - 1
Russia - 1
Destroyers
USA - 50
China - 21
Russia - 15
In addition one must consider that this difference in military budgets has been going on since the USSR collapsed almost 20 years ago. Plus the degree of sophistication of the technology is drastically different as well. ie. All tanks are not created equal! (These numbers do not include atomic weapons).

Why would anyone try to take over the U.S. militarily?
It is easier and more sure to overthrow the U.S. economically. Simply establish a private banking cartel that prints pieces of paper called Federal Reserve Notes and lend them into circulation. Then expropriate the gold and silver from the citizens and put them under martial law (see: 1917 Emergency War Powers Act, HJR 192, Homeland Security Act, Patriot Act, etc.). Spread U.S. troops thin throughout 130 countries as mercenaries to protect the private interests of the international banking and oil cartels under pretext of emergency which was staged by our own government on 9/11/2001. Then have the media tell the Americans they were brought to their knees by a few boxcutters. Oldest trick in the book.
No one country...
Russia or China could defeat the U.S. Military strictly on a military basis. But I would argue that the Chinese are taking over America piece by piece by buying American corporations, banks, real estate, toll roads, national landmarks.etc,,, and they are using our cheap dollars to buy us up...one piece at a time. Economic warfare is how China rolls...especially when we hold the door wide open for them.
And of course there would be no winner in a nuclear exchange...and there are many thousands of nukes out there. Mutual assured destruction.
How about the number of
How about the number of soldiers in the active military of each country?
...
this is important

but the lopsided advantage of China is not as big a deal as it seems. 1000 men are not much of a match for a stealth bomber.

Ralph, what I mean by a
Ralph, what I mean by a paper tiger is that, yes we spend way more than anyone else on our military, but we also have a massive burn rate due to all the bases around the world. That is why we are a paper tiger... We are spread to thin and unless we have a draft to fill the ranks we will be overwhelmed if Iran is attacked by Israel and we are dragged into another front.

"Human beings with love and compassion are some of the most beautiful creatures in the universe... Those without are a plague on us all."
The main point was made by Eisenhower
in his Cross of Iron speech, where he tried to warn the American people against undue and out of control military spending. He said that continuing to spend money on the military would be taking it away from better uses like building schools, homes and hospitals and liken it to hanging mankind on a Cross of Iron!
He was a great man and did his best - Here it is!

at the risk of ticking people off
I would have to say china alone could give us a good run for our money.
First of all over the last fifty years we have made a habit of loosing wars to third world countries. And right now we are struggling with iraq and afganistan, with all our supposed military superiority.
Secondly all our toys are very spread out. How hard would it be for china to take their version of bombers, and cruise missals and tomma hawks, ect... and bomb most of our overseas bases and naval yards, not to mention nuke a couple of our fleets that are at sea(not like their location is top secret information, besides even if it was they would probably know it anyway, it aint easy hiding near mile long ships). This of course would wipe out a very large portion of our troops, particularly the combat ready ones. I am sure if they were to fight fair it might be a different story, but if a war starts they are going to fight dirty and do a couple of those pre emptive no warning strikes.
Third we have a continent in between the fleets in the atlantic and the ones in the pacific. So if you take out the panama canal, you have effectively cut off military reinforcements to the west coast.
Fourth. We are so corpirate all our supply centers are in few places. How many places do they have to blow up to cut off our food supply, or oil supply? Maybe a dozen or so. Or just blow up the refineries.
Do I think they will take all of america? No but they should be able to take the west coast and Hawaii, they shouldnt even try to take alaska, just bomb her pipeline.
Do I think china will try to conquer anybody? No. I know a couple missionaries to china who say that their have been a couple of small civil wars inside the party that the news has ignored and the new leaders are trying to prove they are the head honcho.
I wonder if any of these
I wonder if any of these people have read about the occurances where the chinese subarine popped up right in the middle of one of our task forces.. or where the russian fighter planes buzzed the tower of one of our aircraft carriers.. both of the instances happened and our radar did not pick either one of them up..

full nuclear powers can not be measured in such terms. It either won't happen, or everybody loses. There's very little in between (unless one country has an incredible missile shield.)

i know ... but ...
they're obviously dumb enough to try.
ramtha has said they're not going to be allowed to engage in a full blown nuclear war.
to me that says a) they've considered it and b) considered it seriously .. to the point where ram (a representative from the council of 13) has had to say, they're not going to be allowed to do it.
it wouldn't have even been brought up at any council of 13 meetings or the galactic federation meetings if it wasn't a serious potential.
consider asking devon saunders what the hopi have to say about the coming nuclear war.
now ram has also said that ... there is a potential for nuclear suitcase bombs to be set off in usa cities and that won't be interfered with.
hell ... we're all lucky we're still alive.
the galactic federation voted to annihilate our civilization back in the 1970's and voted again in 2005.
there is only one vote holding that back from occuring.
if you don't think that can't happen ... read some history. if you're christian ... read your old testament. review what happened to sodom and gomorrah.
a good read ...

How to get their people
How to get their people here? There are already an estimated 20M "illegal aliens" walking around loose. With wide open borders it shouldn't be a big problem shipping materiel into their waiting hands (assuming it hasn't been done already).
http://www.svpwiki.com/
We have our troops
everywhere. So couldn't alot of them be taken out without even coming here? You know kinda like we chase "terrorists" all over the palces they might be? Just asking.
Yes, but
There aren't 20M Chinese soldiers here, and the illegal aliens who are here are not organized cohesively.
The borders are not wide open. They are partially open, in my opinion.

available military manpower fit for service: USA-109M, CHI-550M, RUS-50M
annual military becoming available: USA-4M, CHI-26M,RUS-2.5M
gold reserves: USA-$70Billion, CHI-$1.5Trillion, RUS-$476Billion
air systems: US-18,000, CHI & RUS - 5,800
land systems: US-30,000, CHI & RUS - 111,000
naval systems: US - 1500, CHI & RUS - 1300
So leaving out other nations, i.e. N. Korea and their vastly superior number of subs, and the fact that last year the US took her top secret super aircraft carrier out to sea surrounded by our finest ships to protect her and a chinese sub surfaced next to her (all the attention was spent on whether or not it was intentional, but the point was we didn't know it was there with our best of the best out there), just under your US v. Chi&Rus: they outnumber us 6 to 1, have 28 times the money we do, almost 4 times the amount of land based armor, I think it would be safe to say we would get our asses kicked. We would rely on other nations coming to our aid, cashing in favors so to speak. With the reputation of our country internationally, how many would rush to our defense instead of saying, "To hell with them, they're always stirring up trouble."
Isn't that money

mostly in the form of US treasury bonds? I met a gloablist advocate, and he made one good point; the global economic integration of the world makes world power scale wars unthinkable (from the perspective of the powers). This was actually one of the points of globalists immediately after World war 2, and on this point, they have basically been right.

Thanks John for bringing some clarity
to the discussion.
nato would come.
but we'd all be hooped. immediately. i think all nato countries get cheap crap from china and that would stop. if there is an upside ... it could solve the umemployment issues. however ... i don't really like the idea of iran, russia and china at war with the usa. eek.
Excellent points !
You are correct when you say China has more available manpower and financial resources, and that the U.S. would lose any ground war.
But where would it happen?
I do not see the Chinese army invading the U.S. any time soon. How would they get 26 million soldiers here? They would not have sufficient air support. But - if they could - then you are right.
Nor do I see a U.S. invasion of China. We couldn't possibly win, for many reasons. (Think of Napoleon's disastrous sortie into Russia).
China, however, is gearing up for something. Maybe it's Taiwan. Or even Guam, which has a large U.S. military presence. (Not much strategic advantage to taking Guam, since it's so far from everything else).
You raise many good points and support them with interesting facts.
if i recall correctly ...
it may be mentioned on this talk by ram.

but it doesn't go into it in depth.
this book has been updated but i don't know if it is included in it or not...
http://store.ramtha.com/Store/item/9781578731176
also ... you could ask devon what the hopi have to say about china...
Yes
I understand about the actual strategy on an invasion by either side. We have covered this exact scenario where I work, more specifically, should the US attack N. Korea, what dominos would fall, i.e. who would fight with whom, where "Allied" forces would launch their attacks from, etc. It's not pretty. I was merely addressing the post's logistics statistics in that he was leaving some things out. Not that China would send 100 million men to California, but that they would be able to sustain a war for far longer than us.
North Korea
Bill Clinton's recent visit to North Korea, to free the two journalists, softened the North Korean situation quite a bit. I never can remember the president's name (of North Korea) but he was delighted to have his picture taken with President Bill. He felt like he - finally - got some respect from the U.S. He was all smiles, and wanted to appear magnanimous by releasing the women.
The country most directly affected by any North Korean threat is Japan. We all remember when North Korea fired some missiles (one was aimed at Hawaii) but it didn't go far. Interestingly, China condemned these launches. And Japan was outraged.
I do not think the U.S. would risk an attack on North Korea. There is nothing to be gained from it. And I do not see North Korea acting as an aggressor any time soon.
No, I was not leaving anything out
I provided the link for anyone to review all of the information.
What you are leaving out, is the fact that civilian population does not necessarily translate into military power, nor does a potential budget translate in to a military budget.
Look at the rankings and again, if you can find a credible source that claims that China could win a war with the US please enlighten us and provide the link.
Read Ruppert Murdock and Zbigniew Brzezinski
The Chinese are not going to go to war with the US, they could not win and they are too smart!
I reiterate, if you can find a credible source that claims China or Russia could win a war against the US please provide a link.
uh hem
I didn't say the Chinese were going to go to war with the US. The person who posted the discussion submitted a hypothetical scenario where he provided some numbers. I simply posted additional information and posed a question. If this were a high school research paper, I would provide a list of sources, but being that it is not, feel free to research the information yourself and verify the numbers I have provided. As far as your statement about China being too smart to get into a war with us, it is not likely as they can simply cash in our debt to them and bankrupt us. As far as military hypotheticals, I ask that you spend some time researching and discussing the idea rather than sipping your bud light at a barbecue telling your buddies how much of a bad ass America is. Just because we have more expensive weapons doesn't mean we have more nor does it mean that their weapons aren't effective.
You are the one who seems to be claiming to be a military
expert. If you have a credible source who can back up your thesis, please do post, I am always open to learning something.
(Sounds like you make assumptions about someone's personal habits with the same lack of knowledge as you do about military power)! And you are wrong about the beer and the macho attitude, Read the post about Eisenhower's Cross of Iron Speech and you will see where I am coming from!
