Dealing with 9/12'ers
We were encouraged to "embrace" the 9/12'ers.
Our local C4L chapter has been trying to do that, but these people are coming into the liberty movement from a neoconservative background (and they're still neo-cons without knowing it). They are VERY difficult to wake up.
They don't want to hear anything that takes them out of their comfort zone of blaming the "60's hippy liberals" for everything. Most seem absolutely brain dead. They consider talking about historical facts surrounding the Fed a "conspiracy theory". It doesn't even seem to matter if Glenn Beck himself has actually started mentioning the Fed or New World Order, or calls himself libertarian now.
They talk about the Constitution but never actually read it. I call them "Salad Bar Constitutionalists" where they pick and choose which parts we should make the gov't follow. They still love bombing the little brown people. They think they're informed and "awake" because they watch/listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, O' Reilly.. and Fox News always tells them the truth and everything they need to know is right there on Fox. if the media didn't report it, it didn't happen and it's a "conspiracy theory" again.
They seem to despise Ron Paul and worship Palin.
A lot think the lies from the gov't just started 8 months ago. Others don't believe anything coming from the gov't - yet they believe the official story about 9/11. Some don't trust the federal gov't per se, but the DHS, CIA and FEMA and all those alphabet soup agencies are alright and are a bunch of "patriotic organizations".
They refuse to even check out websites we send them. They DON'T read - they just watch TV.
I'm starting to think we're wasting our time with them. We tried taking "baby steps" with them, but that doesn't seem to be working. We've tried forcing the red pill on them and that doesn't seem to be working. Since most are chuch-goers, we've even tried to make them aware of the NWO through the lens of biblical prophecy, and that didn't work (probably because they don't read that either)..
I'm sorry for this rant, but I could go on and on, and you can sense my frustration. Some of this could be contributed to the backwards area I live in (central PA) where people in general display a sort of "arrogant ignorance". Part of me wants to just "disengage" at this point.
Any suggestions?

Comments and opinions are great while we sit in the comfort of our home zones and write about what we think about the other persons opinion of the situation.
Stop! ask yourself "what am I ready and willing to do to make a change". Well I can say this, you will achieve little staying in your comfort zone throwing out words that fall on deft ears ( or should I say other 'Czoners ?).
Just a little food for thought; if you can quote who said what on who's talk show I'll beat your lazy boy recliner has a well worn seat.

Although I wouldn't say "beware the teabaggers". It's just that they're harder to reach than you would think.
Maybe we'd have an easier time going after all the anti-war now-disgruntled Democrats since Barry didn't end the wars as promised, seems gearing us up for more, and is kow-towing to big corporations.

Ron Paul believes in a non-interventionist foreign policy. This is not an issue that DPers are going to change their minds about, myself included. If you believe in what the US is doing in the Middle East, why bother being involved with this website? Continue to listen to Glenn Beck and Rush, you probably will be more comfortable there. However, if you are willing to have an open mind about this issue(and others you may disagree with), stick around... you just might find that our reasons for supporting non-interventionism are derived from the Constitution and the founding fathers, who did not want us to have entangling alliances with other nations. They also would have never supported forcing freedom on others with the barrel of a gun. As a former dittohead, Glenn Beck listener, and George W. Bush voter, I encourage you to hang around. Oh, and yes, some of us believe the government has not been honest in regards to 9/11. Questioning our government does not make us 'kooky', it makes us patriotic. Beck will only take you 'so far'... Ron Paul will take you further, and you can't go back after realizing that the 'left/right', Republican/Democrat paradigm is false.

Would suggest that the U.S. should not apologize for Abu-Ghraib or for torture at GITMO or any other wrong doing and there are many. If the U.S. cannot admit to it's mistakes then it's not a responsible member of the world and will repeat the same mistakes.

Better luck with younger adults
Ron Paul talks about all the young people who come into his office and ask about the Fed. Younger Americans are the future of this country. It's more important to get to them first. They have not been indoctrinated as much. As for the older generations, all you can do is give them the information and it is up to them to see the light for themselves. Any attempt to debate or persuade is useless.

I know how you feel. Yesterday I found myself listening to one of these 9/12ers tell me how Ron could not deliver the message like Glenn Beck because, hes kooky. He was a McCain supporter during the campaign and loves Sara Palin. He thinks Rush is the bomb,(excuse me I'm chocking on my vomit again). They can drain the optimism right out of your soul if you let them. If we allow them the set the agenda for the revolution Jeb Bush will be president in 2012.

Are any of you surprised that a date when Americans became cowardly sheep would be populated with the same sheep? I hate the fact that Glenn Beck is successfully putting the sheep back in there place by using that date.
I would like to see the 1776 project. This sounds of some government psy-ops that is surprisingly successful. Hell its got some Ron Paul followers to go running to them.

Surely, Ron Paul is not a 911 truther? Some how I think I would have heard or read that by now. No, Ron Paul is not a Truther. The reason the T's appear to have such a presence here that anyone can bump a post to the top of the Active Forum Topics list by simply leaving a new comment. Notice that the comments usually appear just as the topic drops to the bottom of the list or falls off. And if someone replies negatively, that also bumps the topic also.
I get very frustrated with the Daily Paul, but it is frequently a source of good info.

Well, I'm kidding, nobody's ever taken a roll call here that I know of, and many people are wise enough to stay on the fence, knowing that they are too preoccupied in other matters to do the necessary research.
