Well today is the day.... 9/30/09 The (latest) End Of The WORLD!
This was the latest in the unofficial 'world will come apart' predictions of the past few months...
Fiscal end-of-year for the Fed, we were told... all the dollars will come home to roost, it was said.
I'm seeing stories of the FDIC being on the ropes but that's old news already. The FDIC has been a joke for a while now. Gold spiking again. Markets are now the playgrounds of the rich again.
I am only posting this in order to say thin one thing -
STOP WITH THE DATED PREDICTIONS ALREADY.
Nothing makes us look stupider as a whole than when people find their way to this site thinking they will get an earful of liberty and personal freedom and instead hear that the world will end on November sixth, 2011.... and 4:12 PM.
It really is silly to think that someone has the power to predict an economic collapse (or any other event). It's silly to search for someone to follow because of that reason. If anything, you should be decoupling from these 'soothsayers' and giving them the bums rush out the door!
Here's my strategy.... in a nutshell.
1)It's coming. We all know it and feel it. Nuff said.
2)Prepare and make ready while you can.
3)If you're looking to get rich during this period, you're talking to the wrong guy. I'm just trying to make it through....
4)Decide what your personal 'line in the sand' will be and keep an eye on it. Decide what you will do when that line gets crossed and proceed.
5) Have a bug-out plan. Have a back up plan. Have a line of retreat planned. Have a family meeting point planned. Have contingencies.
6) Don't shield your family any more than you have to. Everyone in the house should be familiar with their (or more) weapon. Everyone should know what not to say in public. Everyone should be on the same team. Family comes first, now. Know your enemy.
7)Be positive. The message should always be that 'we will all get through this together'. Any other possibility should be scrubbed.
Remember, when they lights go off EVERYONE is in the dark... but not EVERYONE will panic. Panic kills. Panic is a formidable foe.
Get ready to go dark.

i have tried several times to have
the conversation. it does not get that far. i have made MY plan. mapped central points for meeting in any direction we may need to go. unfortunately, none of them will listen, so i will have to contact each one in the event the plan must be enacted. i will also be the only one with supplies.

good post, thats how I feel too, although I enjoy reading other peoples predictions and why they believe certain things. I thought things would heat up this last quarter, and who knows they might, but Im not making any predictions, if they dont cont true we lose credibility and theres no upside to making them.
