My state needs to grow hemp!!!

Why doesn't a state just nullify the law that says we can't grow hemp? The first states to jump on this would be way ahead of the rest. It is not a drug and should have no federal oversight (nor should drugs for that matter.)
I live in Wisconsin and we could grow a lot of hemp and we could build a lot of factories to use the hemp products... paper, lubricants, ethanol, textiles, construction materials, inductrial parts, food and supplements, composite materials for auto industry.
We're talking about $billions

Cannabis is illegal under the UN
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_reform_at_the_internat...
When MSM reports about cannabis, they do it on a "local" level. When they talk about the war on drugs, they are talking about what the USA is doing about it. They are not telling you that it is with UN approval.
The History of cannabis is a book that educates you WHY industrial hemp / cannabis is illegal, how, how marijuana is a loophole..

states that allow commercial hemp production
Montana
Laws Authorizing Commercial Hemp Cultivation
Year Passed: 2001
Summary: The Montana Legislature approved Senate Bill 261 recognizing industrial hemp having no more than 0.3 percent THC as an "agricultural crop." This legislation also establishes licensing procedures to allow local farmers to grow hemp commercially. An amendment to the bill requests the federal government to issue a "waiver that will allow this act to be effective without federal preemption."
North Dakota
Year Passed: 1999
Summary: The North Dakota Legislature approved House Bill 1428 recognizing industrial hemp having no more than 0.3 percent THC as an "oilseed." This legislation also establishes licensing procedures to allow local farmers to grow hemp commercially. Applicants must complete a criminal history check, and any person with a prior criminal conviction is not eligible for licensure. (See North Dakota Hemp Research Law.)
Year Passed: 2009
Summary: The Oregon Legislature approved Senate Bill 676 which "Permits production and possession of industrial hemp and trade in industrial hemp commodities and products."
Year Passed: 2002
Summary: The West Virginia Legislature approved Senate Bill 447 recognizing industrial hemp having no more than 1 percent THC as an "agricultural crop." This legislation also establishes licensing procedures to allow local farmers to "plant, grow, harvest, possess, process [and] sell" hemp commercially.
So....is anyone growing it?
With 4 states giving it the green light, is it being grown, and who is making stuff out of it?
No
Bush Ashcroft had a ban on hemp in 2001, canada sued over NAFTA claimong a $2 million loss in business, so in 2003 hemp was made legal again, Gonzales became atty gen, and the hemp movement for the most part has been immobile since then, and many hemp activists claimed Obama was going to be the man, and as the man, his Czar, has already proven to say one thing and do another.
Ironically, the UN made this a year for natural fiber, so one might think Hemp Indistries Association and Vote Hemp would be stepping up, but I see nothing going on in the USA for hemp industries.

No so much big oil...
as the moral police that are so afraid that it will make it more difficult to find the more potent relative that the evil drug addicts are growing, and god forbid, somebody might get high!

Yes , but oil too. That's why it was made illegal in the first
place..

Perhaps WAY back then...
but I really doubt that they expend one iota of energy fighting the hemp industry these days, especially compared to the moral police.

The economic boost would be huge
The federal monster needs to be smacked down to its rightful place so free people can take advantage of God's gifts to humanity and bring in a more prosperous, sustainable and healthy situation for people and the earth as a whole.
