Google has announced the sixteen finalists in Project 10^100 and now is the time to vote. More than a year ago, they asked for users to submit ideas for how they should spend $10,000,000. With over 150,000 submissions spanning 170 countries, the project was put on hold while all of the submissions were went through, consolidated, etc.

I used to be the ultimate lurker here at DailyPaul but decided to actually join so I could post this. I don't know why I haven't seen this from more people in the various activist sites I visit but I thought I would try to fix that. /me shrugs.

The option I voted for and what I think many would be interested in is the government transparency project. I wish I could figure out how to check what the totals are for each idea - if anyone sees, please post.

Make Government More Transparent

Create a website that enables people from any country or municipality to easily learn about the workings of their government, and rally their fellow citizens to take action to improve it. Numerous user ideas embraced variations on the theme of governmental transparency, with specific proposals ranging from publishing details of proposed laws and politicians' voting records to making public budgets searchable online and leveraging social networks to let communities make their voices heard by their representatives by voting on pressing issues.
