Choose a VP NOW

I wish RP would pick his VP now. Why? He needs campaigning help. A saavy, well-spoken, polite attack-dog would really help his cause. RP, by his own admission, is far too mild-mannered to jump all over the foolish ideas of Huck (Fair tax, Christian leader) McCain (winning in Iraq) Romney (culture war) Guliani (fiscal restraint) etc.

RP can't be in two places at once and it would lend some further credibility to his campaign. Pat Buchanan might fit the bill...

What do you folks think?

VP

John Fogerty for VP.

"Good morning, Mr. Greenspan. I understand that you did not take my friendly advice last fall. I thought maybe you should look for other employment, but I see you have kept your job."

Michael Jordan

Who doesn't like Michael Jordan? Sorry, I just wanted to add my own ridiculous suggestion to some of the ridiculous suggestions I read below.

WHAT ABOUT........RAND

WHAT ABOUT........RAND PAUL!!!!!

What about the Governer of SC?

He could really help Ron Paul in SC.

vp

Andrew Napolitano is the perfect choice I dont think their could be a better pick.

David Babcock

he would do the country much

he would do the country much better being in the supreme court.. thats a life long appointment!

H-Daddy... you may be right

about the time being ok, ..... but its a really tough choice....and you must look at who you alienate.

Case in point, as a life long libertarian, I have converted zero people to my way of thinking and manage to get zero interest in the libertarian/conservative books that I find interesting..... so I know I must not be very good at persuasion.... yet I look at Ron Paul and I say wow, he must be doing something right.

Case in point. My two retired school teacher parents, life long democrat liberals, never take a glance in my direction intellectually, just happened to watch two YouTube videos, and just like that, switch their party affiliation over to become Republicans for the first time... WOW ! I must thank the one who sent the videos to them!

Which videos you ask has this magic powers over life long liberal democrats? They were these two and seen in this order...
1st, http://youtube.com/watch?v=-DqY8iIxe2c
2nd, http://youtube.com/watch?v=FG2PUZoukfA

I call it Magic.... The effect was nothing short of a miracle.

Now I learn that they registared and are on board the revolution. That is a very very precious thing for me as you can perhaps understand, so I gently asked, "who do you think would be a good running mate as VP?" Obama was thier first answer though they said it was not in the cards, so they like Richardson, and hope that somehow, he may be an excellent choice......then I said, "you know, that Pat Buchanan has been arguing against those neocon war hawks since the beginning...and I was interupted with, "You must be kidding! He is so distasteful, we would rather vote for a democrat! Ugg"..... So you see, its a tough decision for Ron Paul (or maybe not, maybe it will be the governor of South Carolina as he hinted)... but its a decision that will alienate as well as assist...

So Ron Paul might be wise to delay that decision....and at this time in the campaign, it may be wiser for Ron Paul and HQ to push for a pro Ron Paul Pundit to go on a shows that Ron Paul cannot do when he is too busy somewhere else..... Which Pro Ron Paul Pundit? May I suggest Charles Goyette... google him. He is great.

Pat Buchanan for VP

Perfect.

Ditto all positive comments. Mr Williams is also awsome, but Pat is too perfect!

Get him out on the trail!

....where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY. 2 Corinthians 3:17(b)

***wants are unlimited, means are scarce...***

They Should be "Constitutionalists"

Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr (The Nation in Arms) (Constitutional Homeland Security)

OR

Carla Howell, The Center For Small Government

would be my two top picks

My final word

I can't see any downside to making the decision now. IF he chose someone like Pat Buchanan (just picking a name) then Pat could be out there doing his thing. He can do things that just are not in RP's nature...like sticking it to Huckabee, Guliani, Romney et al. The publicity would be a boost.

The clock is ticking and RP can't be in two (three? four?) places at once. Keep in mind that right after the NH primary things really heat up. I think 20 states are having primaries Feb. 5th. Wouldn't it be better to have two national figures campaigning? I bet RP would see the logic in this.

This idea won't cost the campaign a dime!

James Traficant!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Traficant

Any guy who would end his speechs on the house floor with "Beam me up... I yield back the fact..." gets my vote! At least Traficant was mostly a man of his word, like Ron Paul. Now days that gets more respect from me than just telling me what I want to hear.

Ok seriously now, Pat Buchanan.

The Last honest Democrat

Isn't Traficant still sitting in Club Fed on trumped up BS charges.

Yea he is

Yea Trafficant is still in club fed. I think he gets out in a few years. If he'd move here to AZ I'd vote for him in a second even though I'm a Republican. Like you said, "the last honest Democrat". I'll take an honest Democrat over a backstabbing RINO like McCain anyday.

Walter E. Williams

Wiki him, google him. The only rational choice.

Paul - Bloomberg ticket?

Let me say it is early for a selection of VP (unless it could help in the primaries). It is certainly up to Dr. Paul. But I think he would not be opposed to our discussion of possible candidates.

The name I would like to add to the discussion is Mike Bloomberg, current Mayor of NYC. He is in my mind an interesting selection because he is interested in higher office. I have heard his name mentioned as a possible third-party candidate. He is clearly a billionaire that could support a third-party ticket.

I have to admit I'm not clear on how closely his views mess with Dr. Paul's.

What do you think?

No way in hell

Bloomberg is a big government commie who hates the 2nd Amendment. No way in hell.

Eagle Bloomberg

I thought he was going to run for Governor of New York State.

Let's get off the Vice President kick and spend all our time figuring out ways to get Dr. Paul Elected. Plenty of time after Super Tuesday in February.

If you really want

to win a primary then name the VP right now and set them to work on the campaign trail. After "Super Tuesday" will be too late!

h-daddy

I was just thinking of the

I was just thinking of the dynamics of three different candidates from NYC.

Why Walter E. Williams would be a great choice

Professor Williams as VP could help neutralize a lot of the hate against Dr. Paul on the Right. He guest hosts for Limbaugh, that might bring Rush on board. Rush's clones like Pawn Vanity, And Mark if you disagree with me your an anti-semite Levin can't go against their mentor. We'll probroaly never get Savage on board as he is way to hawkish. Laura Ingram is a possible convert. That Walter is black will help us weather the racial shitstorm the Left will throw our way. And Walter Williams is an even bigger threat to the Federal Reserve then the good Doctor. That's Life Insurance.

Walter Williams a threat to the Fed?

That's what I like to hear. Just did a search on the guy and I came across an article he wrote entitled How to Cure Inflation.

Here's an excerpt:
First, let's not let politicians deceive us, and escape culpability, by defining inflation as rising prices, which would allow them to make the pretense that inflation is caused by greedy businessmen, rapacious unions or Arab sheiks. Increases in money supply are what constitute inflation, and the general rise in the price level is the result.

Some of you guys are giving

Some of you guys are giving crazy people a bad name. We're trying to win the nomination, here. That is all.

I know the Perfect VP for Dr Paul .......

The Perfect choice for Dr Paul would be Mark Cuban owner of the Dallas Mavericks, he's smart cutting edge and he's a Billionaire, he's the distrubutor for Loose Change 2nd Edition, so he knows the Country is in trouble.

Mark Cuban created Internet Steaming and was part founder of Yahoo, and he likes a good Fight! He also answers e-mail from Mavs fans, sooooooooo i intend to e-mail him and ask if he's support and even run with Ron Paul.

Would he be an unconventional choice? Yes, but this is an unconventional REVOLUTION!!!!!

What!?! Dr. Paul chooses a CUBAN for VP?

There goes the Miami vote. :D

Barf...

Colin Powell blew all his credibility when he was a puppet for Bush...

He is a critic of Bush

He is a critic of Bush now.

He has been outspoken against the war, has called for a timetable for withdrawal, said a war with Iran is unnecessary, and that Iran is not even close to having a nuke.
