He did much better than I ever could've!
I thought the women were very unprofessional and Ron Paul did the best he could with what he was given to work with. It certainly was different from any other interview I've ever seen him do! If I remember correctly, he did get one of the hosts to understand his reasons for wanting to overturn Roe vs. Wade were politically motivated and not because of his ethics or religion. That's major!
While canvassing
a few people we met had just seen him, and they were very interested in learning more. I hadn't gotten to see it until later - Whoopi just about drove me NUTS! When she started to rant about some woman who has six or seven kids and what do we do if she can't get an abortion - I wanted Ron to say "That woman needs to take responsibility for herself and her children!" That's what the abortion issue comes down to - personal responsibility. There are so many readily available contraceptives on the market these days - abortion shouldn't be one of them.
AMEN TO TO THAT!!!
How about choosing to use birth control? Getting pregnant is actually pretty hard to begin with. A little help form ALL the different birth control methods out there could help. Abortion should not be used as an alternative, and even if it is, how about making a decision within 2 weeks, not 3-4 months.
Abortion should never be a safety net. However, I do think a two week opening should be made available in cases of emergency, such as rape etc.

Dr. Paul did just great he was in complete control and handled the ladies just fine. People need to stop looking for the negative so much.

I would say it is 100%
I would say it is 100% success if Ron could get Joy, who is pro-choice, to say killing a 8lb. baby is murder.
She wasn't annoyed with him, but annoyed that she couldn't articulate an argument.
hmmm
I did not see it and have never really watched the show, but if I were to take at face value the comentary in this thread about the show itself and the hosts.......Add to that, how the hosts said they would vote for Ron, and agreed with him, then I think it went swimingly.
If the show is that shallow and the audience buys into what these ladys say then their endorsement/comments alone should have been enough to make up all the minds of the audience..... just a thought.
Sounds like it was a success!
What happen to that redneck
What happen to that redneck Elizabeth... kinda hoping she was there and got some firework going. bump. Although short, it's positive.
That is REALLY insulting
That is REALLY insulting calling her a redneck. Rednecks are a lot smarter. =)

Ron did as well as he could.
I do have problems with some one person saying we should better understand how WOMEN think. One thing I learned about Ron Paul is that he does not kiss anyone's A$$. He challanges you with commone sense. This interview was far more hostile than Obama's and Hiliary's. They wanted to argue about Abortions and you had Whoopi trying to say what Ron was syaing was not true. First of all, he would know more, a liberal or an OBGYN. I know for a fact what Ron was saying was true. They are ready knew to brng up abortions since none of them agreed with him on the issue. He actually challanged Joy's and Whoopi's thinking and basically saying since you don't agree that we should have late term abortions because it is murder, then when is abortion not murder. NO liberal will ever see the commone sense behind it. That is why is dragged on for so long. They could have given a Presidential Candidate who flew out to be on thier show more time and more question but we all know what they are all about. The end the interview with the last question was down right disrespectful. If you thiink not, when will they speak that way with Barack. He is still getting killed in the National Poll. This interview was good for Ron but it was still a bad interview. He did great.
just saw the video
i just got home from work and watched the youtube video of the interview and i thought dr. paul held up VERY WELL. i am 28 y/o male and was impressed at how well he related to the ladies. certainly nothing that would turn OFF people to ron paul, if nothing else, make them curious as to why they haven't heard anything more about this guy. nice job, dr. paul! and thanks to the panelists for not attacking him just because he is a republican.
As a 52 year old women, I thought the show was great.
I was impressed with the questions given to Ron Paul on The View. The questions were much better than any on the UTube debate. I thought Ron Paul gave great answers. When Joy mentioned Ron Paul not being able to win, the other women on the panel looked shocked and annoyed.
I believe that The View may introduce a whole new group of supporters to the Ron Paul campaign -- older women who watch day time TV.
I think that was excellent for the demographic of the audience..
I thought he did very well, I just wish he had more time as well. The women were very friendly and very open minded. Much more so than I expected, especially after having read the comments here all morning (I couldn't watch until a few minutes ago).

Great... if it weren't for
Great... if it weren't for the negative 'you're not gonna win' closing statement...
I love Ron Paul. He is my
I love Ron Paul. He is my hero. I do not think he handled the question on abortion very well this time. He spun it around and put up a straw man argument against the hostess. This turned out poorly and ended up with all of them attacking him. He could have just told the story about his OB years and how he had to look at the sonograms so he knew it was life. Then stopped and stood on his beliefs. This would have allowed them to move on. Most people, even though they dont agree with your position will respect them as long as you dont attack them and put them on the defensive.
I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

Good Interview
I thought Ron did very well!
hello, goodbye, sometimes we all just need to cry.
A Guys View of The View
O.k... It was shorter than we all would have liked, and we all would have scripted the questions (and to read some of your comments, answers) differently. That being said, I have to say that it was well worth watching, yes, even studying, and recommending to guys who need help understanding how Ron Pauls' positions ring true with these women, despite their normal party biases. I believe the regret they voiced at the end of their interview, that the time was so short for all that they wanted to ask him, was a sincere apology, and a likely opening for more time if their audience agrees.
I disagree with those who say he was treated disrespectfully. Fawning over him would not have been expected by their audience, nor should have been by us. Even Joys' "can't win" comment and follow-up question seemed juxtaposition to elicit a rejection of that notion, not only from Paul, but from the others and the audience.
Someone has posted this already, but I'm recommending this to guys like me who want Ron Paul to win, even if it means attempting to better understand how women think... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPysYWw34T8

I really appreciate this
I saw some comments on another post here in which some of the men basically said, "what the hell was THAT!" I agree the interview was a piece of unprofessional fluff, but as a woman I can see it's also something that could appeal to other members of my gender. Not me though, I tend not to like shows aimed specifically at women: I'm weird that way. Anyone, thank you for encouraging other men to keep an open mind and try to understand this.

wow...
I would love a compariason between that interview and maybe when Obama or Hillary comes on the show.
What is up with that woman saying that people will have to drive to another state for an abortion? And that only the rich people will be able to afford that?
Sheesh!
Abortion is a very private issue. Someone who has to deal with an abortion doesn't need the federal government to tell them what to do. It is hard enough on the woman and those close to her, the man included, if he is around.
"Make fun buddy..." - Ron Paul
I'm a stay at home mom
and I usually watch The View while I eat lunch. Joy Behar likes Ron Paul and mentions his name from time to time, we should not be blasting her with negative email, we should be thanking her for her support. She is a Democrat and she supports Hillary, and is very clear about her positions, but, she also likes Ron Paul.
The show is not known, or watched, for in-depth intelligent conversation. There were two comediennes and two actresses carrying on a conversation with a someone who is head and shoulders above them all in terms of insight and thoughtfulness. What did you guys expect?
Give the women of The View a break, and thank them for the exposure.
Definitely should thank
Definitely should thank every one of The View hosts by e-mail or regular mail. It's easy to be a jerk, much more difficult to be gracious.

you know guys, I think
you know guys, I think somebody told her to say the
"you know you cant win" line, shes very VERY pro-paul, if you guys haven't you should watch the other view ep where they discuss RP
That is double speak
you can't be pro-paul and say on national TV "you can't win".
This probably isn't very
This probably isn't very important, but I just want your opinions.. Do you guys think it would have been better if he was wearing something other than a suit..? I mean still look nice, but wear something that portrays a little more personality..? Only in certain appearances though.. What about MTV..? What do you guys think..? Ron Paul is for the people and I think that might help him connect a little better.. He looked uncomfortable in that suit..
Suit
Suit is the best thing to wear! Ron Paul for President!!

I think the discomfort comes from the weird
seating arrangement they have. It's not "natural" to be facing the camera head-on, but to get a better seating position, you have to adjust your body language to effectively ignore two of the "regulars."
Suits are always ok and a safe choice. I saw Dr. Paul in a pullover sweater w/ tie on one of the interviews. That looked good as well. He could do other things, but sometimes the safe choice is the best one; it takes clothing out of the equation (one less potential mistake).
Very true, and I agree with
Very true, and I agree with the weird seating arrangement and it being safe. Maybe if he could have at least taken the jacket off. It doesn't really matter to me, but I just want him to appear more comfortable and think his clothing could allow him to differentiate himself from the rest of the candidates by appearing as one of us in the same way his ideas do. I think a show like the View would give him an opportunity to safely do that. Same with MTV.
Remember the AUDIENCE
Yes, it was a great interview, but yes, it was also "too" short, however, let's look at the intended audience on the View.
1.) Female - abortion is a hot topic
2.) Brevity - yes we on this board, including myself, could listen to Ron Paul yammer on for hours and hours and hours and still be begging for more, but your average "View"'er doesn't want to hear any politician talking on and on.
I think the best opinions about this should be from our female members on this board...soooo chime in!!!
God damn you guys *shakes
God damn you guys *shakes fist* I got rick ROLLED! :)
