Don't "hate" the Glenn Beck folks

0 votes

There is a topic on DP today entitled "Forgive me for posting this from Glenn Becks website but its an interview with Ron Paul". There is a problem here that needs to be addressed.

Over last weekend I was engaged in some 'discussion' with the local 9/12 group over a candidate that they are endorsing for CONgress. Long story short, one of the precinct chairs had pointed out to the group that their candidate had never voted in a Republican primary but had, instead, voted as a Democrat in those primaries. The guy had performed his due diligence and was only offering a caveat for the rest of them. They were all up in arms that he had disparaged their "guy" (girl in this case) and don't WE know something about that!

Regardless, these people are misguided and NEED to be educated instead of apologized for. In this interview WHO is the teacher and WHO is the student? Our "guy" is doing the teaching and theirs is doing the learning. Beck is saying all of the things we all want to hear and in doing so motivating HIS people to get involved. That is good! Beck is not necessarily beating up our guy at every turn so it appears to be a win-win situation. Our side gets the word out and they (hopefully) learn a little.

One thing that I have realized in the last three years or so is that some of this is fairly caustic information to some. It must be "spoon fed" to them until such time as the 'crack in the door' appears. Once they can see outside then OUR job is done. They will run with it; case in point the Tea Parties. They cabbaged onto OUR concept and are using it to maintain their enthusiasm. Another good thing. In the case of 9/11 truth, income taxes, the war(s), CODEX, and those subjects the teaspoon it much too big a dose all at once. An eyedropper must be used and the dose adjusted upward gradually. They will eventually 'get it' but after a longer period of time. These people are NOT our "enemy" and much more receptive to helping when they understand.

Isn't that the TRUE mission of the CFL? Educate not denigrate?

Sorry to late

I hate him!

If voting could really change things,
it would be illegal. Here is hoping for change!

If they can keep you asking the wrong...

questions, they never have to give you the right answers.

How is it possible that Beck could have a paid gig with FOX

without being held to saying what they want him to say? Whatever Glenn Beck says, he's PAID to say. Even a small amount of yeast leavens the whole loaf. He's paid to tell you the secrets that are becoming common knowledge anyway so it looks like he's being "edgy". What truth has he ever said that wasnt available anyway? He's there to soften the blow of information and guide how we process it for the minimal amount of damage. He can rant and expose things all he wants- but at the end of the day he's being paid by the very machine he alleges to be unmasking.

because he's paid to keep

the Indy's, Paulites and 'fringe' Pubs "tapped in"....

because the R's are not in charge of anything

I talked to a columnist for the NY post about this very subject, he said he used to be censored, but now that Obama is in and everything is going to hell, the restraints are off, they can write about whatever the heck they want.

Obviously, the insinuation is that if an R gets in the white house, or R's get control of the congress, all bets are off.

It's funny

The "unaware" are "unaware" that they are "unaware"!

Is that a quote from Donald Rumsfeld?

"We have to spend money to keep from going bankrupt"

"Since 1789 the only government on Earth that has the power to crush the American people`s liberties across the board is the government of the United States"

I don't hate them

They just have no ability what-so-ever to discern truth from propaganda.

How Much did Beck get from the KNOWN Corporatist Murdoch

and do you think Murdoch gave him that money to drive ratings or derail the movement? Or both?

i don't think beck is that powerful

those that we find or those that find us, once you can see and hear there's no going back.

"The two weakest arguments for any issue on the House floor are moral and constitutional"
Ron Paul

Beck has the same audience size as Michael Savage

Michael Savage and his audience "turned" the Dubai Ports Deal and no other conservative was on board with stopping it -- well save Ron Paul (but the two had nothing in common).

My point is do not undersestimate the "power" of one man, 20M listerners, and one microphone.

I created the term "Birther" (last year) and I heard Michael Savage using it on his radio show -- Now imagine if I had 20M listeners.

the bottom line for me is this:

The Liberty message is singular. Ron Paul did not invent it, therefore there is no such thing as "co-opting" it, as I was painfully taught just last week. However, NO ONE speaks as consistently, authoritatively and clearly on it today as Ron Paul. There may be those more understandable and more educated, but they are not in the limelight like our good Dr.

Our job is to stay on message... simple. The Liberty message stands for itself.

Beck pushes to extremes... he still endorses pre emptive war, morality enforcement, etc. However, we need to keep sounding off about those issues and educating people... This has been Dr. Paul's goal from the beginning... I don't think he had real high aspirations of winning the nomination but his goal was to educate... this should be our goal any and every chance we get and we should use means that are most effective to the broadest spectrum possible... extremes will take care of themselves...

we have the message that appeals to Americans... Liberty. Stay on target!

REPOSTING THIS COMMENT FROM THE 9/12'ERS THREAD

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THESE TYPES.

_____________________

There is a guy in the local 9/12 group that has ADMITTED to being in DHS and "formerly" CIA (as if there is such a thing as "ex" CIA...). As if by admitting it and convincing the core of the group by his "authority" and "insider knowledge" that DHS, CIA, FEMA etc, are a bunch of "patriotic organizations" that really care about them (just get on the bus, it's for your own good), he's kind of "hiding this fact out in the open".

They don't see the contradiction here that his boss, either directly or indirectly, is Janet Napalitano, who was appointed by Obama (meanwhile he rails against Obama and **only** Obama and the 60's hippy libs), and she has branded basically all in that group as "domestic terrorists". He insists that we need to continue killing the Muslims over there so they "don't come here", because they hate us for our freedoms, anything coming from me is a "conspiracy theory", they need to "purge the zealots", "conspiracy theorists", "militia"(??) and "fringers" from their group.

He is also now head of their "research" committee (yeah right, like their research is going to go anywhere, if any important info at all makes it thorugh his "filter"). he claims to be a Chrisitan but doesn't get how RFID is sure looking like the Mark of the Beast, or getting us conditioned to accept whatever's coming next in that regard.

It's possible the guy is a legitimate, concerned citizen who is **at the very least** jeopardizing his job being part of that group (since those types of organziations are compartmentalized as much as any other - and you're often told only what you need to know to do your job). But I strongly suspect he's a gov't spook who has been assigned to that group to monitor them, spread disinfo, and make sure they stay in the dark and their efforts go nowhere. The reason I say this is because the guy seems to be a master of disinfo techniques - or what we would call psy-ops.

After told us of his "credentials" I questioned his motivation for being in that group and he immediately played the victim, saying I was "attacking him because of his "military and intelligence community background" (as if the two entities are one in the same)..and of course, they swallowed his whole pitcher of kool aid.

That's all fine and good

But is Beck trying to spoon feed the people? Do you really believe he's just pretending to ignore and belittle Ron Paul and the real issues so that he can carefully roll them out at a slower pace? That he's actually trying lure in a sleeping and unready public, so as to not scare them away, all the while knowing the truth but pretending to be one of them waking up to the facts? If that's the case, way to go Beck! I had you all wrong, you're a genius! I'm under no such illusion that is what's happening. It is clear to me he is controlled opposition, either by fox or by his own greed. He is the last line in the republican defense. The last sheep dog to keep the sheep firmly in the neocon fold. He's pretending to lead them out only to lead them right back in. You're right no one should hate the glenn beck folks. They are to be pitied. But they are also to be fought for. They are to be brought out of the lies and into the truth. While Beck is leading them out we need to free as many as we can before he leads them back in.

I've said it before & I'll say it again

Beck is an IDIOT. End of story.

I've been to

local 9/12 meetings with a couple of other C4L'ers. It's a large group with anywhere from 60-100 attending. They don't want to hear Ron Paul's name. He is NEVER mentioned. They talk about Palin, Rush and Beck. They think Santelli started the Tea Parties. Never the issues or if an issue comes up it is disucssed on a very superficial level. Believe me when I say these are hard working, honest people, and this isn't personal but more philosophical. They need to turn off MSM. When we mentioned Ron Paul privately after a meeting to a small group they looked at us as if we had 3 heads. Needless to say, it was a very brief, disturbing conversation as they let it be known that their meeting is not about Ron Paul. Well, one person did say, "Glen Beck likes Ron Paul." I guess that makes Ron legitimate in their eyes We stopped going for the reasons stated above. I've come to the conclusion that what works best for me in spreading the message is one at a time. I agree if Beck is getting the TRUE message of Freedom and Liberty then great, however I don't trust him. Last night I watched For Liberty and this only intensified my distrust for Beck reminding me of how he treated us and Ron during the campaign.

I completely understand why

I completely understand why any DPer might dislike Glenn. It's like he stuck a knife in our back, front and sides. I was living it. Even knowing that he took 50mil from Rupert. Even knowing that he's switched positions before.

I think there might be a chance that he's sincere. Or as sincere as any millionaire talking head could be.

I'm copying and pasting a post I made in the 9'12 er thread, admittedly it's a positive spin on Glen. Obviously he's no Paul, but he might have a role:

I've been really hard on Beck. I've trashed him on many of my posts...

But he is far more sympathetic then Hannity/Limbaugh/O'Reilly/Savage/Levin.

Beck has had both Pauls on his show, countless times. He's come very close to a public apology, or at least it resembled one. Something you would never hear from a Hannity or a Savage. (and forget about Levin or Limbaugh)

I think Beck had a large number of fans who were neocons. And to suddenly flip his position, would have alienated them all.

We were all understandably POed when he sabotaged us during Ron Paul's 2008 run, but he's bringing "his" crowd ever so slowly over to our view.

We don't trust him. But what he's doing is a monumental task. Glenn Beck has gone from pure neocon, to a person that is very friendly to the Pauls, and speaks on our topics consistently. He is successfully bringing his neocon sheeple-fans with him.

Had he just 12 months ago said "I'm not a neocon now, I'm a Ron Paul supporter!"

We would have all been happy and supportive. But he would have lost his millions of viewers. They would have just switched over to Hannity/Savage/Limbaugh/Levin/O'Reilly.

But with his painfully slow "wakeup", he's brought over a bunch of allies.

He's the only one of the bunch that deserves a second chance.

I know he's not to everyone's taste here on the DP, I don't have a problem with that. And if I'm dealing with a liberal/progressive, trying to get them to see my point of view, I would NOT mention Glenn Beck. They all blindly hate him.

Anyway, I'll take a Glenn Beck any day over a Sarah Palin, a Hannity, a Levin, a Limbaugh, an O'Reilly....

that bunch is actually working against us.

The "bag" parties...

...are a dead issue.

It's getting colder and the baggers won't be doing much other than listening to Beck. Beck serves his purpose of directing the neo-con warheads into the Republican neo-con barnyard.

Bag parties are full of overweight, over-50's, neo-con, do nothing, know nothing, big mouths.

Also, Xmas is coming and they'll be more occupied with shopping for junk.

After Xmas they'll only be interested in trying to pay off their bills.

That is- more interested in earning their daily bread than to think about "rebellion"....as Plato said in Republic.

There's no need to worry about them.

I don´t hate anyone...

But I Love Ron Paul.

I don't truly hate

anybody, although I admit there have been times I have desperately wanted to slap the crap out of a few politicians...
Anyway, even here at the DP, I don't agree with any one person about everything, so why would I expect to agree with any other person about everything.
If you love this country, if you want to restore the Republic, if you want to have the Constitution obeyed, then I consider you a friend...
We'll argue about the "other stuff" later...

Two things every Glenn Beck follower should understand:

1) The federal reserve/fractional reserve scam
2) The Constitution

They can't argue with you about either and the door swings wide open.

When I try to tell them about that...

About the Fed being unconstitutional, the wars being unconstitutional, I get no response, and I can imagine the blank stares as they read my emails. They haven't actually read the constitution - they just talk about it - so their minds aren't prepared to accept these things.

Sad but true. They think they know because they are "informed"

I think we've got a better chance with the socialists. I'm very serious about that. Google "Freedom Next Time" and watch the video. You'll see what I mean.

GOOD topics

They THINK they understand them. They don't.

"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot." -Mark Twain

I have no problem with the people but Beck is a different story.

I just hope that the people will continue to educate themselves and research the topics Beck brings up and come to their on conclusions not take his or anyone's word. If they can do that then Beck will have been an incredible catalyst of liberty.

"Human beings with love and compassion are some of the most beautiful creatures in the universe... Those without are a plague on us all."

"Human beings with love and compassion are some of the most beautiful creatures in the universe... Those without are a plague on us all."

I agree

His motivation is book deals, $50MM from Rupert to move, and a new pulpit to 'preach' from.

"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot." -Mark Twain

Good points

Except, oh no, you attacked a GIRL! You bully!!

That's one reason I love the out-spoken, well-informed women in our group - the neo-cons are afraid to argue with them, for fear of looking like they're picking on a girl. Don't forget, protecting their false, good image is everything with these people. It's even worse for them if the girl starts crying.

I feel that 9/11 is one of those things, that once you get someone to step across that line and doubt the official story in any capacity, their minds are now open to accept a lot of other things - the flood gates will open themselves at that point.

Just...how do you crack through that using a teaspoon?

I am VERY guilty of giving folks a novel when I should be giving them the "cliff notes".

Any "off" topics

Such as 9/11, should be SECONDARY to our movement. These people are NOT going to accept it right away. LEAD them to it, don't force it on them.

We don't really care about 9/11 at this point, we need to SAVE the country!
