Should women vote?
Excerpt:
John Derbyshire, a British-American conservative author and columnist for the National Review, has written a new book titled We Are Doomed: Reclaiming Conservative Pessimism. The book contains a section called “The Case Against Female Suffrage.” Yesterday on his radio show, Alan Colmes asked Derbyshire to articulate his argument.
“What is the case against female suffrage?” Colmes asked. “The conservative case against it is that women lean hard to the left,” Derbyshire responded nonsensically. “They want someone to nurture, they want someone to help raise their kids, and if men aren’t inclined to do it — and in the present days, they’re not much — then they’d like the state to do it for them.”

My research has shown that the difference between men and women is approximately 10-15%. Not too bad. However, some women (not all) seem to group themselves into an oppressed minority. It seems to me that this has a subversive effect within the republic as they pursue the agenda (i.e. hate crimes, 'equal opportunity' etc.) of their 'group' at the expense of the founding principle of individual liberty. I know it is difficult to have generalized conversations because not all women behave in this manner, yet I believe it is statistically significant enough to discuss.

I'm a college student
and I honestly think I should not be able to vote. I pay next to nothing in taxes, basically I am a net leecher off of the system and other people's tax dollars. I think only those who pay an income tax or property tax etc.. should be able to vote. If a woman is married to a man who pays that I think she should be able to vote too.

Determining who should vote
Based simply on a physiological group is foolish, and collectivist at its heart.
Now, if you wanted to provide some conditions, Like educational level, score on a citizenship test, or even property ownership, then there may be a discussion, but my goodness, not based on gender.
are you suggesting sex (not
are you suggesting sex (not gender) doesn't influence intelligence?
Modern women ( especially in the USA ) are a product of intense
social shaping and emotionl munipulation...as are many men who find themselves in very close daily contact ( as in offices etc. ) with them being in a majority. There are also distinct differences in our humanity from men to women...these difference make us what we are, and prepare us for the "natural organic" roll awaiting us in life.
Thru a diabolic agenda to distroy the "family unit" elements of the underworld government ( CIA etc. ) devised a plan to accomplish their goals. This program was labeled "femenism" and due to widespread propaganda and sicological preping...coupled with the WW2 war effort requiring women to leave the home and work in the factories where they could be easily programmed away from family values and traditional rolls...the agenda was very successful indeed.
Playing on the natural instincts of both men and women ( mens machismo and domainence or womens sensitivity and ensecurity etc. ) the "divide" was created and widened. Men were made to feel threatened and women were led to believe that their "REAL" roll in life was to compete with men to have a "fair" share.
The agenda was also designed to "divide" the family by AGE. The governmental indoctrination system we fondly refer to as schools plays a major roll in this as does the work place....but the "king of propaganda is the TV set !!!!!!
I submit ( and believe it is backed up statisticly ) that our present political "lean" ... which had led to the election of our now president...is a DIRECT product of this agenda.
If our highest duty as citizens of the USA is reduced to a contest of pretty faces...or whether or not the candidate can dance or not...is a VERY DANGEROUS TREND and can only lead to results like Obama being elected.
Our founding fathers knew the importance of a "landowner" based REPUBLIC form of government over a "free for all" type democracy as we are experiencing. They also knew that the form which the president was elected was so critical and so sensitive to the preservaion of freedom and sovereign state that people who close that curtain behind them and except the responsibility for pulling that lever. MUST BE ACCOUNTABLE !
Not by SEX or BY COLOR...but by INTELLIGENCE ( political sofistication ) and INVESTMENT ( landowner or having given service to the country ). They new that a person who was not within this realm was not "vigilant" of the values and goals of the revolution.
""If you own a car...or pay for it anyway as with your children etc...you have a tendency to "take care of it" ... on the other hand, if it is a company car of city vehicle etc...you do not pay the same detail to it's care and performance...RIGHT ? Well folks...government is the same !
No bashing here...no sexist crap either..just reality and naturalness.

Property taxes
If we could remove local taxes from property, then it might work. But as long as the government can tax based on the property and foreclose if need be, then you aren't really a property owner. Your just leasing.
Interesting.
I think not enough attention is paid to social engineering and where it comes from, so I'm glad you brought it up. Of course, the fact that there is a trend of professional women leaving their jobs to stay home with their children, because they've seen the results of too much daycare, shows that you can only fool the smarter people to a certain extent.
The TV is an enemy, I agree. Down with television.
Yes...many women are re-learning the joys of the family...
Men are finding their way back to nature as well...and nothing "feels" better then being in your natural roll. If families return to the countryside and take "real control" over your lives...they'll find enough challenges a plenty of glory to go around for all. Real pleasures...true rewards.
Tv's must go...the sooner the better.

My family has a place in the country...THAT is what I call real life.
it should be the other way around
Only woman can vote, we would have an interesting government :D
What is the purpose of this post? To make us look like idiots?
Yeah great idea! Let's offend at least 52%of the population defending this idiots mental masturbation.
I hear the Taliban are without a country at the moment, maybe they can hook up with this guy and any other retard that wants to defend the indefensible.
I would bet this post and others of similar distaste are meant most to discredit the movement. A la Ron Paul is a racist.
Don't be baited by these plants that are working to break apart our coalition by making us look like a collection of nutjobs.

No
Because the elections are usually fraudulent and rigged, and women should be smart enough to know that, and not go through the motions of "voting," which only strengthens the illusion of free elections for the Establishment's benefit. If nobody showed up, they'd know we caught them.
NO!
Now git back in the kitchen, rattle those pots and pans.
And git me a beer too.
Seriously..
It's not women who group themselves into an oppressed minority.
It's just there is a lot of unfinished business regarding NOW, and other feminist groups.
Gloria Steinham, and her ilk are the ones who group women this way.
They left one thing out in their quest. Which is that women should be equal to men, but they should NEVER forget that they are women. Men and women ARE different. We should CELEBRATE the differences. Not hide the differences..Or pretend that we are the same.
Feminism is an unfinished business.

I believe that women
I believe that women wholeheartedly have it in them to love individual liberty. My wife does and so do the two assistant organizers in the meetup I started a few years ago.
The problem as I see it is education. Specifically we have socialization for women that pushes them towards this dependent mindset. Look at little girls and boys and what the TV, magazines, and society generally pushes as 'normal' roles(Gosh I hate Barbie dolls...talk about making women objects...putting in their little heads the idea that all that counts is that impossible barbie physique).
Even though women have suffrage...it did not go to the full extreme to treat women equally with men when 'training' them at a young age. If little girls were raised as little tom boys, but were simply taught that there are biological differences as far as genitalia and slightly(key...slightly!) different roles for a man and woman with raising kids (i.e. we men don't breastfeed)...you may see an increase in liberty minded women. They just need to be empowered equally and feel an equal amount of responsibility, but regretfully I think much of the empowerment is smoke and mirrors.
It seems that they wanted to empower women only slightly, but not socialize the dependent role out of them so that they could add more dependents to their voter base.
Don't get me wrong...there are plenty of smart and independent women who do not buy the b.s. However, there are a lot of them who do buy it...they know nothing else. Another problem is that little boys are taught to 'value' this mindset in women. I did when I was younger...I luckily woke up and chose a fiery, independent partner for my second wife who loves liberty.
My wife and I have had this discussion and I just read my comments above to get her take on what I wrote. Her response was, " That is completely true!"
I'm curious if anyone else has thought of this? Could we make a difference starting with our own daughters? How do we counteract this societal socialization without completely isolating ourselves? I think these are all relevant questions to the rEVOLution.
We must capture the minds of men....AND women!

Who is John Galt? Vote ███ ███ 2012!
a bit misguided...
This guy has come to the wrong solution given his grievance. If he really wants to limit voting to those who cherish individual liberty and property rights than he ought to consider the argument of extending voting to only property owners or people who pass a test on history, politics etc. I don't expect that would change much though because the system seems to always fall prey to nefarious interests.
I see his point about women voting security over freedom, but that is a poor argument in many ways because the trend is likely based on economics rather than gender. Ultimately I blame the education systems of the world for keeping the middle class populace in a docile, undistinguished state of stupor. We are actually more like turkeys than sheep.
Considering we
(women) give birth to the future of the country we should definately have a role in determining the future of the country. Or you guys can take care of yourselves (if you get my drift) and there would be no breeding so who cares. How well would any little boy do without a mother? Oh wouldn't be here. Face it guys you tried to rule women and you can't. I believe men were running the show and made it so women pretty much had to work as well because in most cases the mans income was not enough to raise a family. Hmmm. I don't know should we be allowed to vote? Should we be allowed to work? Should we be the ones to bear children. We do everything you do and more. I think maybe we should be able to vote. I think our votes are needed.
How about the female RP-esque candidates?
What about women like Michelle Bachmann and Debra Medina? What about all of the women on the DP fighting so hard for our rights? My mom and I are going to vote for RP in 2012, if he runs......do you want to take away our votes for him?
Should blacks not vote, because many of them voted for Obama?
Please. There were plenty of men who voted for BHO, not just women. One of my own kin, I'm ashamed to say, is an O-bot...a MALE O-bot. But my father is an RP fan.
Don't lump us all into groups; that just feeds into collectivism, and is the antithesis of the Liberty movement.
