They purchased commerce bank
and are integrating the systems, so magically many of their long time customers are locked out with their balances in the negative and none of their checks will clear and it could take up to 10 days.
I heard about one guy who was getting out of a taxi at 2am, the debit card wouldn't process, cabbie started yelling, and he had to call a friend to come lend him money.
Also, it's rent time, so this is really screwing people. TD offered to pay any fees, charges and interest when they clear this up. I hope it isn't anything more sinister
