Olympic events require the ability to shuttle athletes from athlete villages in surrounding towns. Chicago's lay-out and traffic make that impossible. That's just one of a million reason Chicago was a terrible choice.

It's Obama's fault. He forgot to promise that foreigners were exempt from getting their heads bashed with railroad ties.

why you wouldn't want the Olympics in Chicago it's a nasty city from the few hours I was there and the violence that is escalating.

I think its great that Chicago lost the Olympic bid. I mean seriously We have a depression on our hands and these fools want to spend money on stupid games? These people are absolutely irresponsible and corrupt and to spend money on something that the majority of people don't care about is absolutely wrong.

COPENHAGEN, Oct 2 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama met the man heading U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, General Stanley McChrystal, on Friday, a White House spokesman said.

The meeting on board Air Force One in Copenhagen lasted 25 minutes, spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters on the plane.

McChrystal flew to Denmark from London, where he met with Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Thursday, and delivered a stark assessment of the Afghanistan insurgency to military and defence experts at the International Institute of Strategic Studies.

Gibbs declined to give details of the discussion between the president and McChrystal, which followed a high-level meeting on Wednesday in Washington between Obama and his top foreign policy advisers over the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan.

As the casualty toll grows and popular support for the campaign wanes, Obama is carrying out a major strategy review of his Afghanistan policy, which could either lead to more troops being sent or a cutback in the 68,000-strong U.S. force there.

Obama was in Copenhagen to urge the International Olympic Committee to choose Chicago as host city of the 2016 Olympics.

the people of Chicago are thrilled I'm sure..didn't see much support for this thing except for those who would have profited through theft and contracts.

Let's hope Obama does not blame the gangs for his loss and bring the troops home to Chicago.

This is really a loss on the global stage for Obama. I know a lot of you don't like Beck, but his connection between Valerie Jarrett, Obama, and the Olympics makes sense and is really outrageous. I'm happy Chicago lost. I'm sure that means less money in the pockets of Obama and Jarret
