Ron Paul doesn't want to be our president
I just got done watching For Liberty, which is a great documentary and everyone should pick it up. But even in it, Dr. Paul says "I was the most hesitant to get involved (in the 2008 presidential campaign)." My point is obviously he ran in 2008 to get across a message, not to actually win. I don't think he ever had any intention of winning. Has this changed at all in that he would consider running in 2012 to win? I'm not sure, I hope so. But unfortunately I have to accept that 2 years ago he wasn't running to win, so why by this time next year when he makes his decision to run or not, why would he run? He would have a risk of winning in 2012, but I don't think Ron wants to win. Being president is just not something he wants. So I'm reluctant to think he will run again but I'd love for anyone to prove me wrong. Sorry for being a party pooper, but i'm afraid we might have no one on the ticket for us in 2012....

The last campaign was grueling
For those of us DPers who were here a couple of years ago and were with Dr. Paul from the moment he started an exploratory committee, to when he finally threw in the towel, it was a pretty rough ride.
The MSM did their best to marginalize him consistently; FOX news held a televised roundtable discussion with every one of the republican candidates, except Dr. Paul. (In a nice gesture, Jay Leno invited RP to appear ton the Tonight show, which was good). We all recall George Stephanopolous and his snide comment: "That's not gonna happen" after RP said his goal was to win. Add to the mix RP's wife Carol fell ill and this was of grave concern to us.
Ron Paul is 74 now; and campaigning is not easy. It just takes an awful lot to get good organizers, good advance people in the various towns and cities, and - well, you know - it's awfully hard and tiresome. The good thing was that millions of people made the money bombs a staggering success - much to the dismay of the other candidates.
But what most of us came to realize is that the game is fixed. The voting machines are rigged; the CFR (and other elite organizations) manipulate the media to promote their candidate (who is hand picked by the global elitists; this has gone on since the 'ascension' of Jimmy Carter) and an honest man like Ron Paul frankly doesn't stand a chance. If this were a fair fight, then he might get the republican nomination. But nothing about our political system is fair. Nothing.
I think Ron Paul wanted to win, but
his management was clueless. Honestly, I think there were trolls making important decisions that did not do him good.
Sometimes I think he really
Sometimes I think he really did not want to win but when i remember the look on ron pauls face in that george stephanopoulos interview it was evident that just the thought of loosing troubled him alot. p.s. doinnuthin isn't worth a rats ass.

"We must re-take the Republican Party"-Ron Paul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlqXq8YxQFQ
And actually,
It may be better for the Revolution if Ron Paul didn't run.
It may be better for the Revolution if someone who believed in the same principles as Ron Paul ran, and when asked why he was running, his reply would be, because "I believe in Ron Paul's America, and I believe in the Constitution."
If Dr. Paul runs again, he could be dismissed by the same people that dissed him before, the media.
But if a Ron Paul Patriot runs, they can't dismiss him/her out of hand. First they have to investigate and try to find some "dirt".
I believe that Ron Paul will be regarded as the man who saved America, but he can't do it alone, he needs our help.
We the people NEED our help.
Dr. Paul has lit brushfires in the minds of men, and it is up to us to finish the job.
We can't expect him to do everything. He can't do everything.
Ron would run if that was our only choice, but we will have choices.
Don't believe me to be a troll, because I would gladly give all for Dr. Paul.
Consider all venues to success, and success is the restoration of the Constitution.

You must try to understand why Ron Paul ran in 2008.
In the fall of 2006 a group of Ron Paul supporters decided, "On Their Own" to start a Ron Paul for President campaign for 2008.
They began to raise money for his campaign and put the word out to those interested in seeing a Ron Paul Presidential campaign.
Many supporters began to join the Ron Paul for President movement, before Dr. Paul agreed to run.
Eventually, in the Spring of 2007 after quite a bit of money had been raised, Ron Paul after much coaxing, agreed to make the Presidential run.
About this same time Ron Paul meet-up groups began forming all over the world on the internet. This may have been the first true spontaneous grass roots Presidential campaign in American history that reached so many people,,,and I'm very proud to say I was a part of it in my small local area.
If we, his supporters, start a 2012 campaign right now, in my opinion since many more Americans have now heard, seen, and met, {"ME"} Ron Paul I feel he'll get much more support than he did in 2008, and maybe even get elected if enough people are fed up with taxes, the Fed, and wars !
Ron Paul in 2012 !

YOU GOT ME FIRED UP!!!!!!!!!!!
If what you say is true, then lets do it! I am 100% with you and you can count me in to be with you every step of the way!!! Just tell me what we have to do and Im game!
PS, I believe this time is WAYYYYYY different than last time. He has way more support and understanding from the country. People were not ready for his war rhetoric yet, but him being dead on with the economy opened many people's minds. I think he is 1000xs more popular and known than during the presidential campaign. I think he has a clear shot of winning this time. This movement is not dead at all and has only gotten stronger!

This sounds like defeatism to me,
when you say Ron Paul doesn't want to be President, you may be right, because of his age.
But, when you say no one will be there for us, you are wrong. The Revolution has awoken many patriots.
My personal favorite is Jesse Ventura, with his take no enemies, shoot from the hip, in your face style of speaking.
Someone will be there for us, I feel Ron Paul may not want it myself, but I can't put words in his mouth.
If he ran, my support may be taken for granted, but his age, and the damn "newsletters", and the ignorant sheep who believe in the left-right paradigm may be too much to overcome.
But, who knows what the future holds, future events could change everything.

It's not up
to Ron Paul. It's up to us(the people). He would do it for us.
I agree...all true statesmen/leaders
are reluctant because they realize the solemn responsibility they will take on. A reluctant candidate is the type you want. Anyone who really WANTS to be president is most likely in it for the power. Dr. Paul would do it for the people, but not for himself.

What people forget
The reason Dr. Paul ran was to see how many people were out there and hungry for liberty. He did what he did, and we showed up. But some folks think that HE alone is the movement, and we can't go forward, or without him the movement is lost.
That is not now, or never was the point. Think about it. Did his managers run a campaign to win the Presidency? No. Did they stay in as long as they could to expose the corrupt ineptitude of both parties and their transparent lies... Did they try to motivate and educate as many as they could on the message of freedom and liberty... Yes, and for that we should be grateful.
But don't be discouraged or stop now because Dr. Paul won't be President. Even if he ran vs. Obama, Obama still would have won. Even if they needed the Supreme Court (to ignore the BC) or the electronic voting machines to "gain or lose" votes. (Remember the GOP primary?)
The key is to stay active, hold the politicans accountable, and prepare our familes and neighborhoods for when the system invariably collapses...
America is to be destroyed by her masters... Wall St., Big Buisness, Corrupt Government, you name it. Now is the time to prepare for what is coming, or may already be here. At that time, the people will need answers, and we have the only alternative that preserves freedom... Let's get ready, be prepared and act when that time is upon us...
Well said,
Thank you.

Gary Johnson for the win
It's widely known that when Gary Johnson puts his mind to something, he puts everything he has into it. When New Mexico had a $144 million budget surplus, Gary Johnson told congress that he wanted $72 million of that to go back to the people as tax breaks. They said no, they brought him several budget bills without any tax breaks. He just sent them right back with the veto. They finally gave him his tax cuts. 14 tax cuts throughout his time as governor and over 1000 budget items vetoed. All of this in a state dominated 2 to 1 by Democrats.
He's been eyeing the top spot for a few years but has been waiting for the right time so that when he runs, he'll be able to win.
2012 is that time, and he will win.

I agree: RP said, TY 4 inviting me to YOUR rEVOLution
Ron Paul has repeatedly said he used the GOP to spread his message. Had he wanted to be president, he would have gone Indy and gone for it.
I knew he didn't want to be president when I met him in SF. I saw a few people I know in the legal medical marijuana industry here that could have given him CA and it's 156 winner take all electoral votes.
There's allot of Libertarians, POWERFUL Libertarians here, like Koch. Steve Kubby threw his position in the CALP to RP. Libertarian Jack Herer had the best cannabis legislation of his life, CA Cannabis Health and Hemp Immiative 2008... RP woudn't touch it.. wound up with Kucinich (what a shame). RP could have had TV interviews, the growers offered to open their ranches and pocketbooks... Ron Paul rejected us.
My Sheriff told me, he really likes RP... This area is prepared to flip the NWO and establish a "gold" standard because the capital market, meaning the untaxed, unregulated medical marijuana market sustains this area with a $14 Billion annual income (some say $40 billion annual crop).
I have never belonged to a major party. Previous to the rEVOLution, I have supported Ralph Nader. I expected the RP campaign to be more professional than Nader, because Nader does not run to win. At first, I thought RP was running to win, so I turned down a job with Nader. I have been registered as an electoral voter for three elections. I don't know how many people here have been that. I assume most here have gone through a "delegation" process to become an electoral voter.. As a past Nader rep.. I see this game very different.. Never have I seen a campaign that worked so hard to kill the grassroots effort.
Jeff Greenspan worked very hard pouring buckets of cold water on the campaign. He created so much infighting between meetups. Good people came to the rEVOLution and became discusted with how the campaign did everything it could to kill the campaign.
But what I found more important then RP wanting to be president or not, is a rEVOLution that is bigger than RP, and now we have a C4L, so we are evolving and this is good.
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!

Dr. Paul
has been quite vocal about his hesitancy to run for The White House. There is no big secret or debate about it.
No true Libertarian would EVER want to be President...
It is antithetical to the very philosophy of Libertarianism. This is, unfortunately, why those drawn to POWER over others always end up in positions of power. (See "An Idea Whose Time has Come" by G. Edward Griffin).
BUT, Ron Paul was willing to make the SACRIFICE of becoming President, in the hopes of being able to dismantle the system of enslavement as much as possible during his term. He is also a thinker and a REALIST and knew that the chances of the population changing their thinking in enough numbers to elect him were few..... but he was willing to accept such a miracle should it occur. Any other attitude would have been unrealistic, and one doesn't turn off one's rational mind to the realities of the situation, just because the miracle outcome would be so wonderful. He wasn't MOTIVATED by a desire to be President, but was willing to accept that mandate. This is true greatness.
Whether Ron Paul is willing, once again, to make the SACRIFICE and run for President in 2012 is probably something that only he can answer. I think, in a way he is hoping that there will be a new, younger version of himself that would serve. We shall see....
The MORE important mission is to change societal THINKING, so that the "knee-jerk" reaction of society as a whole is to elect FREEDOM candidates in all areas of government.

He really did want to win.
He was hesitant because of his former Libertarian run in 88.
Before he decided to run in the 2008 election, he formed an exploratory committee that indicated there was support for his Constitutional views, and more people than ever fed up with the status quo.
Anyway, I am sure he knew it was unlikely to win, and a very uphill battle, but my point is he would not have run for President unless he believed he had a chance.
I don't think he initially realized the movement of his running would cause. I think once he saw the meet-ups and grassroots movement he realized that even if he did not win, the people are waking up. Just my opinion. --Thanks, 3D
Ron woke a lot of people up,
Ron woke a lot of people up, now there are a lot more of us. I would gladly vote again for Chuck Baldwin. I hope ron runs but im ok if he doesnt, as long as we have someone to vote for and watch in the debates.
Interview
I saw an interview with Chris Wallace during the campaign in which he stated his goal was to win.
Also Paul underperformed in polling.
In Iowa he was getting close to 20% but I think he only got like 13 or 14%.
The young people stayed home for the most part. Also that Mark Kirchick (spelling) hit piece destroyed him in New Hampshire where he was polling better.
He was close to catching fire. Maybe 10% more people supporting him, and he could have ran the table. It's not as far fetched as you would think.
he said his goal was to win to...
that little maggot george stephanopoulos in the interview.
remember - he asked what 's the goal ( or something) and
ron said "to win.' and the little maggot said "that's not
going to happen."
Ron Paul is my President

Do you remember this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKTQADyb5D0
It makes me smile
Ron got 11% in Iowa
he simply did not campaign there(enough)
instead staying in Washington - Congress work...in NH he got 8% a disaster and perhaps a fraud...
to win Iowa all he had to do was campaign all over it from town to town like Fred Thompson did with his campaign bus...Fred got 3rd place Ron 5th.

I believe/hope Gary Johnson
I believe/hope Gary Johnson is the best candidate. I know he was as boring as Charlie Brown's teacher at the C4L Minneapolis event in September 2008, but something like that can be helped. The one thing Ron Paul lacked with the general public was credibility. Gary Johnson was a 2-term governer. When was the last time a President was elected in the White House that was not a Governor, Senator, or Vice President?
Otherwise, we can compromise with Jesse Ventura in the actual election.
The new is the Daily Paul.

He has
accomplshed more by not winning than he could have if he did, Think about it.. If he was planning to run it would not be a good idea to say so now. For many reasons. I will let you think about that.. It is up to us to determine what will be. Haven't you figured that out yet? The whole problem is we have been voting for a president and other reps and not giving our input. We have given them the power and they took it. We are to blame too. Ron Paul woke us up and gave us the opportunity to save ourselves.
Do the math. RP has been in the halls of power for 30 years
Do you think the people elected Obama?
Do you think any man who is elected by the people (if such an aberration were to occur) would live more than a month if he started getting in the way of the shadow government?
RON PAUL KNOWS WHAT HE'S UP AGAINST. He's been in its midst, observing it for a long time.
Ron Paul is an educator, a warning crying out in the wilderness. He's a last chance wake-up call. Even if it were safe for him to be president - which it is not - he wouldn't have time for all of the presidential bullshit. He'd be too busy unwinding all of the unlawful laws and executive orders. And we would soon witness his state sponsored funeral.
The guy is our mole on the inside of this corrupt and evil system. He could never sit in a committee set to investigate the FED as president.
I could go on for an hour of why he shouldn't be president but it's going on 5AM.
Just think it through.
I'm from Pittsburgh and we just witnessed a trial run of martial law. It was a training, testing, psy-op and re-con mission. This next twelve months are going to be the turning point for America. Prepare for the worst. Because it is coming.
