do not forget..

Pass this around to the regular Tea Party Folks (they might like to hear what you have to say), you will make some friends and learn you have more in common with them than you assume, and 3) I think it's high time that the forces of liberty become more UNIFIED!

Congratulations Kevin

I hope you all have ALLOT of fun.

STAND WITH RAND 2016

Government Sucks Day is a great name but...

it's sort of shouting towards the choir and they already hear you very well.

The more mainstream potential 'converts' may pass this off because of the name.

Even the moniker 'tea party' has been co-opted by the bought media.

My suggestion for next time is...

"political alternatives awareness day"

There's nothing wrong with preaching to the choir.

Have to disagree with those who say it's not "correct" enough to present a positive image--I'm not trying to reach the mainstream media, or people who voted for Obama, or those who want Sarah Palin to succeed him as the next President. I'm trying to reach libertarians of all stripes, and rally them specifically.

It's an event for libertarians.

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. - Krishnamurti. (But don't mind the fool.)

oh this should add validity to the Libertarian point of view

hardly....goodness. The thing is being held at Middlefaire Renaissance Festival - that should add points for credibility right? and the name of the event - although certainly catchy for certain folks who might already know about Libertarian ideas - will be fuel for the media - should they pick this up - to discredit anything productive that may come of this and may very well add to the idea that Libertarians (which the media is obsessed with Ron Paul being a LIbertarian) are terrorists who just want to take down our country. This thing is wrongly positioned on a lot of fronts. Good luck guys. We know you mean well.

Is that really the name of the event....?

Sounds counterproductive and far too negative to me.

Is that really the name of the event...?

I agree with carpediem718. I can't imagine that Ron Paul, for one, would embrace this crude moniker.

I disagree. It's

I disagree. It's perfect...... things that speak to the truth of what people are REALLY thinking have a way of working well. Is it bordering on childish.... yes, but in that lies its genius. I dig it.

Truth is treason in an empire of lies.

Yeah? Interesting.

Could you tell me why you feel that government doesn't suck?

I never said I don't think

I never said I don't think it sucks. I'm saying I think the title of the event is rather childish and can be seen as uninviting.

What would you suggest then?

Seriously. I think government sucks, and the name of the event is fitting. What would you call it instead?

how 'bout Nat'l Government Ineptness Day?

It's everyday that ends in "y".

Inept is too kind

If the government were simply inept, it'd be easier to laugh at and thus easier to make irrelevant.

Okay, how bout...SUCKTITUDE

sounds a little less juvenile than sux.

LoL. Deal!

Funny stuff.

Sounds like great fun, but if any one the

organizers reads this there is one key element missing from this announcement: What is the positive alternative clearly expressed and emphasized so you can reach out with this beyond the teeny number of already awakened hard core?
I can't be in Texas, so I can only suggest: Mary Ruwart offers many positive suggestions in her Healing Our World;
Molyneaux has a whole literature, some of which offers practical positive suggestions. Dr. Paul has good suggestions, many others.
What made the original RP R3VOLution stand out and get world notice was that it was so energized and fun and overwhelmingly POSITIVE. That is the spirit that reaches out and touches hearts.
The the substantial literature of freedom should also be prominently displayed so intrigued people can research and learn how much there really is to this movement.

Great post - Many of my favorite memories involve...

the Ron Paul Revolution, the Tea Parties, the Nov 5 money bomb...the sign waving, and the canvassing. All participants were gracious, helpful, and united in one great cause. I half-jokingly say to my husband now and then, that I would rather be with Ron Paul supporters sometimes than some Christians.

-I favor extending to Israel the same honest friendship that Jefferson and the Founding Fathers urged us to offer to all nations. ...This means I also favor discontinuing foreign aid to governments that are actual or potential enemies of Israel,--Ron Paul
