Why don't we just - Abolish The Federal Government!
Submitted by Ralph Waldo on Wed, 10/07/2009 - 16:07
Let just go ahead and say it - Let's just
ABOLISH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!
This country was founded primarily on states rights and I'm sure with modern technology the states can adequately coordinate all interstate activities including the joining of forces if we ever need a coordinated defense. And we could be the United States we were meant to be!
Really deep down, you know it's the best solution - So let's get the ball rolling right here on the Daily Paul!

axe it
Getting rid of the Federal Government is a good Idear I think.
We could easily replace the
We could easily replace the Federal government with internet integration of all 50 states. Instead of sending representatives to Washington, they could work in their respective states, leaving their salaries to simulate the local economy instead of that foreign nation of Washington. In fact they could work at home, just then they wouldn't need to spend so much on expenses.

Get a vote going in each state
To abolish the Federal government, or at very least hold government accountable to Art 1 Section 8 of the constitution.
1) Each state coin its own money
2) Each state supply troops for military for a constitutional war
3) No Federal authority
4) No federal courts
5) No Federal taxes (income, fuel, user, ect ect, ect)
6) No Federal Reserve
7) Return power to the people as ordained by the constitution.
8) Save billions of dollars by not paying federal employees and Federal elected officials.
9) It would be a public hanging offense for elected and government employees who violate the constitution.
This sounds great, if even one state would do it and get it
started.
Almost sounds like secession and the closer we can get to secession, the better I like it.
The 10% sounds great, but getting these 'officials' to do it is cmpletely another thing. They don't listen to a thing the people say.

We have all heard, “if you want to be free, just live and act free.” Granted, this only works if enough people commit to it. Nevertheless, there is a profound message in that cliché, and in what iehuvihs has pointed out.
This criminal government
This criminal government will eventually implode. When it does, we all have to be extremely vigilant in mopping up the mess. The fraud must be completely removed.
Fraud will never be removed, it will always return
And the cycle will begin again, and again, and again. Please reference my quote...
"There can be only one permanent revolution - a moral one: The regeneration of the inner man."
—Tolstoy
"The body is but a vessel for the soul,
A puppet which bends to the soul's tyranny.
And lo, the body is not eternal,
For it must feed on the flesh of others,
Lest it return to the dust whence it came.
Therefore the soul deceives and despises."
Your quote is perfect wisdom
If everyone could understand and would practice that advice, then there would be no fraud... no deceit... no immorality. Unfortunately, such is not the world we live in.
Should you ever find that you have a cancer – one that can be kept from spreading by cutting some of it away, but which is prone to continue trying to spread – will you keep cutting and cutting and cutting, or will you say, “It's just going to come back; let it spread as it will until it overruns me.”?
A common element shared by spirituality, religion, morality, science, and politics is opposition of forces. There must be opposing forces. Any force without opposition will run amok like an unstoppable freight train to the point that it's irreversible. Jefferson knew this when he said, “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” And that is exactly what has happened in the grand scheme of the world.
You are correct that the cycles will repeat. Because we live in a world where few practice, let alone understand, your quote, there is a natural inclination toward deceit and lust for power. That is a force that must be opposed by those who recognize it. Jefferson also knew this when he correctly stated:
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ... And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."
Never-ending vigilance
I realize that not every molecule of fraud can be removed, but it's like keeping a clean house. We don't have to live in filth.
Who gets to own the Navy?
Are we gonna make bets over which states get occupied first by UN, China or Russia?
WE ARE GOING TO WIN!

No, We would still be the United State and we could join
forces for national defense, but this could be coordinated between the states. We don't need people in DC telling the national guard in Florida and Georgia what to do. The DC bureaucrats just get in the was and screw it up.
Yes we could divide up all the military. If you brought all that equipment home, I get the impression it would be plenty.
deport all zionists
live free or die,
to there homeland.

Deport?
They will only continue their efforts from abroad...as is done now.
I say execute them at public hangings.

I am such a wet blanket about this stuff. Sorry.
It's a fantastic idea, truly.
But will it work? Not a chance. The people of the U.S., even within the states, are almost completely disorganized. But, even with organization, you would still be fighting the mafia, and they fight dirty.
You might find some sympathy in places like New Hampshire, Texas or Utah, but please bear in mind that around 20% of the populace is unemployed and putting food on the table is a huge priority for these people. Add to that, that most individuals have jobs also have other responsibilities - taking the kids to soccer practice, doctor's appointments, and the general stuff of life. Everybody is busy and probably too busy with various activities to even think about breaking free from the federal government.
Yes, the rallies and the tea parties were heartening, but they were one-shots, and not daily occurrences, such as we have seen - for example - in France. Those people know how to hit the streets, day after day. Not us. Our people will turn out with signs and bullhorns for a day, maybe a weekend and then it's back to business as usual.
Where are the college kids and their anger? In the Sixties, almost every college campus was a hotbed of rebellion and outrage. Not now. You can almost hear the yawns on a quiet day. This is terrible.
Again, I wish to God for a sea change in our Republic. Our country has been stolen by special interests - aka, the Mafia - and our future looks increasingly bleaker every day.
Still, I wish you good luck!
Now that would be Change I could ...
believe in!! Yes We Should!!
WELL SAID
YOG!
When we gave our power to a central body,
we lost the synergy of the states. The significance of doing things 50 different ways was the best solution would surface and the other states tended to adopt it too.
Now you have my attention.
This is how the diverse people of the former Soviet Union rid themselves of centralized tyranny.
Maybe the US population is bright enough to follow in their footsteps; but probably not.

to abolish slavery again. Why not?
I'd like to let this Federal Reserve drama play out a bit first. You know if the Federal Reserve was eliminated the Federal Government would be knocked down to size real quick. It's hard to buy influence when you can't borrow or print your promises.

I like the irony and parrallel you are drawing
but I'm talking about a political phasing out by defunding a certain amount each year like 10% until it's down to the bare minimum.
phasing out
sounds awesome Ralph Waldo, but I've been waiting for this phasing out my entire life....through Regan and then Clinton's "the era of big government is over".
Honestly, I don't buy it anymore! There can be no phasing out or reduction, just ain't going to happen. It's looking like a sudden collapse is the only way the sheep will understand what's going on.
I wish I were wrong, perhaps I am. What strikes me as evident above all, is this question that has nagged me for decades; how does the government continue to grow, year after year, and yet my personal tax burden remains relatively unchanged?
How are we paying for this? That's a question Ron Paul helped me to answer by his posing it in the public forum.

They are makeing up the difference by printing money
and increasing in debt.
Secede
If we all secede, then we can set it up the way it should be.
