Sheriff Joe Arpaio holds a news conference reacting to the Dept. of Homeland Security's decision to strip deputies of their ICE agent status. Maricopa County Andrew Thomas and Attorney Eric Dowell also make comments.

I thought it was common knowledge that he's a corrupt pig.
His henchmen have killed and injured hundreds of people. He is involved in more crimes than al capone. If any "citizen" would commit even 1/100 crimes he would be sentenced to life in prison, but because Arpaio is the sherrif he can get away with anything. The county had to pay out 50$ million in settlements to his victims and their families, and there are many more lawsuits on the horizon.

It's also common knowledge that he is not a drug warrior, but a drug dealer. Like most DEA agents (he was head of the DEA for some time in Arizona) he is deeply involved in drug trafficking and only busts dealers who are not playing ball.

Sheriff Joe is none too happy is he. I live in Pinal County and I worked in Maricopa County for over 18 years. I have a lot of problems with some of his programs but he is definitely doing the right thing in regards to this problem. Stepping on some toes as usual. I think they need to change the wording about illegal immigrants and call it what it is, human and drug smuggling. Its violent and dangerous and I've witnessed that violence up close and it's frightening. We have a very dangerous crime problem here, and he is right, the Feds have no business telling him what to do.
