I wake to find that Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize!

This is hysterical! What has he accomplished?

I never realized that the Nobel foundation was this biased and politically correct.

What an absolute joke!

My first reaction upon hearing the news was somehow we'd jumped to April Fool's Day.
But upon further consideration those wily Norwegians are mocking America and have taken over American foreign policy.
How can Obama send more troops to Afghanistan after this? And the Iranians have to be saying, "Whew". Ther'll be no bombing until, at least, Obama picks up his Nobel.
The Israelis must be livid. How dare the Norwegians take control from them!
But the best thing is Obama gets to read another speech, and American children will be singing his praises. Ugh! After he receives the prize, Obama will belong to the ages.
Is this world crazy or what?

We Cannot Risk Success In Afghanistan at the Expense of Losing Our Entire Empire!

We must acknowledge we have built an empire to maintain, with over 700 military bases in 130 countries. We have an embassy in Iraq the size of Vatican City, Iraq being our latest conquest.

The Soviet Union lost its empire and was brought down after its 8 years in Afghanistan. Afghanistan bankrupted the Soviet Union and the US is now also on the brink of bankruptcy. Afghanistan is the country other countries go to die.

The question now is; How much of our Empire do we wish to preserve and how much of it are we willing to give up? Bankruptcy is inevitable. We now need to start thinking about keeping some of it if any, if we can

Yeah, that was my reaction when I heard it this morning.

If someone can win the prize for just blathering a bunch of empty pandering rhetoric then the prize is a joke.

If he had actually accomplished something it would be one thing but winning for spawning 'hope' and blathering about a nuclear weapon free world (more political blathering) just does not seem to me to warrant such a reward.

Or perhaps the Nobel has always been this empty and meaningless and I just had not known enough of the individuals winning to realize the joke.

Even funnier, he wins the peace prize while he is working to expand wars in the middle east.

sigh....

I have the same sentiments myself over this subject as many of you. When I first heard it I thought it was a joke, after finding out it was for real, well, I was left rather speechless.

I heard the deadline for this was in Feb.. I would love to get to know who decides who gets the prize, and who voted for obama.

Way to undermine every other person in history to ever receive it.
