Where can I sell silver for the best price?

So many people talk about getting into precious metals to secure their wealth.
Let's say I decide to do this. Where do I go to convert it back to FRN's so I can pay things like the electric bill and buy groceries.
I admit that this is probably a stupid question, but I'm very green when it comes to gold and silver. :-)
Thanks in advance.

Suggestion
I would strongly suggest checking out the Silver and Gold Exchange before selling gold or silver to ANYONE. I did a great deal of research, online and offline, and learned a lot about this business. I checked pawn shops, jewelers, "gold parties", hotel "buying events as well as the online buyers, including the "as seen on tv" guys. I found that the Silver and Gold Exchange paid more than anyone else I could find. I liked the fact that they post the prices they pay per gram (beware of the places that quote in pennyweight/DWT) on a live price chart at http://SilverAndGoldExchange.com I also checked out their Better Business Bureau report and found they have never had a single complaint as opposed to HUNDREDS of complaints some other companies have! I recommend them 100%
Thanks DP'ers
I'm lucky to be a part of this site. I have yet to see a (valid) question go unanswered here.
I appreciate all the responses below. My concern was about the loss of the WWW but it makes sense that if that is taken, then the least of my worries will be converting metal to paper. Thanks again everyone.

I sell on craigslist, ebay
I sell on craigslist, ebay and here.
Me too...
I usually find local people on Craigslist to meet and exchange. Local dealers are more than willing to buy or sell but they charge a fee for both. I place an ad on Craigslist to sell at spot or for Eagles spot plus a few bucks.
It would be nice if we had a corner of this site specifically set up for metal exchanging.
Gold and Silver are Real Money
They are real money, not because some government says so. They are commodities that people throughout history have recognized as possessing value. Probably no time in history have people been is ignorant of economics as today - and this includes those who teach "economics".
Not only in the US, but people around the world have been indoctrinated into the belief that money is what the politicians say it is, and that it really doesn't need to have intrinsic value. This has enabled corrupt politicians and bankers to steal their wealth. This is indeed a "global" problem.
While today, because so many are still ignorant of basic economics, frns are more liquid than gold or silver. People have been conditioned to want to deal in them, just as so many have been conditioned to use credit cards, rather than cash. It is a matter of time before these people catch on. It depends on how badly they have to get burned before they realize that they are, and have been swindled.
When the "dollar" is finally destroyed by our politicians and their banker friends, there will be a call for a new currency, possibly a "global" currency. This new currency will be just as worthless as our "dollar" is today. It will have no backing, it will be redeemable in nothing. And it will begin a whole new process of theft of the people's wealth. That's why it is vital to educate as many people as possible as to what has been done to us, and by whom.
The ONLY solution to our economic woes includes a return to honest, Constitutional money, and that means gold and/or silver.
Nice to see
an active response.
Craigslist is a major part of our new economy. It has become the largest sales force in the country.

Thanks for all these anwers
I hope more people can chime in.
It's unknown as to whether or not the WWW will always be around to sell on eBay or craigslist.
Thanks.

If it comes to the point
where they have seized the WWW than silver would be a means of survival....
Just sold it back to the dealer I bought from APMEX.com
Got a fat $8000 check a week later.... There will always be a buyer, there is more demand right now than actual silver
Glad to hear you were happen
Glad to hear you were happen with the $8000 but the drawback to selling to a dealer is you receive a wholesale price.
your right
sold my silver under spot but not by much, worth the liquidity factor, they bought my gold at spot.... Ebay and paypal to many fees and just not worth it IMO. I tried Craigslist but people try to undercut you even more than the dealer plus a friend of mine got robbed trying to sell to someone on craigslist, needless to say we got the Gold back with some help from Smith and Wesson...lol
Well if you got close to
Well if you got close to spot that's great. Regarding Ebay, why not request certified check or money orders? No fees there.
Ebay and craigslist w/o
Ebay and craigslist w/o question!
I've sold many silver rolls
I've sold many silver rolls on craigslist.
I got higher prices on craigslist, over ebay.
You can usually sell it back
You can usually sell it back to the one you bought it from. I wouldn't pay the premiums again though! Make the buyer pay the fee.

if you want to sell silver
im buying let me know how to reach you. when i needed a last year to sell some silver my 17 needed a car i sold it on ebay for full value and it took me 2 days to sell 4k worth of morgans and peace dollars.
If you need money to buy
If you need money to buy groceries or pay bills don't buy gold or silver. If you buy gold or silver buy it to hold for the long term as a preservation of wealth using ,say, 25% of your assets.
