Project Appleseed: Return of the Rifleman One American At A Time

I would like to plug this organization. I found out a sweet young man of college age has been involved in this for the past year and gave me the brochure.

It would be something I would support my son belonging to. What a wonderful organization of a dream coming true.

Still rolling

I ran across this old thread, and I wanted to mention that the Appleseed Program is still rolling and picking up steam. I got my patch (about 8 months training and two Appleseed shoots) and am now an Instructor in Training for the program. I would encourage anyone who can participate to do so.

great post, anisha!

this sounds like a very good training chance...

My nemesis. Old foe. We have done battle many of times. Luckily people are waking up to who you are and why you do the things you do. You tried to get me banned. Of which you were successful. Sadly for you I was let back in by your boss.

I will never forget nor forgive you for you "freedom of speech is a snag" comments nor how you delete your post that inflamed a flame war. Then used the replies to your horrifying and blunt post to get people here banned for your dirty tricks.

You are the low of the low. The bottom of the pit. You are a threat to freedom everywhere and anywhere. Zen-piper, you are a traitor to our Republic and moderate from a foreign country.

How you swindled MN into allowing you to become moderator must have taken the greatest of illusions to pull the fleece over his eyes.

BTW this is copied. You delete this it will go right back up. Please refrain from targeting the spam filter on me. It would not be to your benefit.

I haven't shot the "Appleseed course",

but I normally score about 196(out of 200) with typically around 8x(in the x-ring) on the 600yd prone firing line in high-power rifle competition.
On good days, I can shoot 200,
In bad weather, I might shoot 180.

I shot 165

my first time. Barely missed "marksman" (I think) and I believe you need 210 for Rifleman. Then I did worse when I was under time constraints - didn't get all the shots off. The course is great - frustrating at times, but certainly well worth it; will def. take it again. You really need a semi-auto .22 to keep up.

I scored 100

I want to be a rifleman

I have heard

the founder of this, on AJ's show. He is a wonderful story teller. Alex let him tell some stories about how the Revolutionary war started, and it was fantastic.

Not only do you get to learn how to shoot at 500 yards with open sights, I think you also get some lessons on the birth of this nation. I will certainly go when I am able.

You are right: Fred cannot save America.

But this plan can.

But only if you ‘take the pledge’. It costs nothing, unless you chip in for a range. Most of it is fun. Can you do it? If you do it, we will save America. If you don’t do it, we won’t.

The Founders of the Nation are watching.....will they be disappointed by your decision?

Fabulous training!

I first touched a rifle at an Appleseed shoot in May. After spending two full days mostly on my belly, squiggling around trying to safely and accurately handle the tool, this gal went home stunned, having earned a patch. Possibly because I had no prior training, no bad habits to unlearn, no attitude at all of thinking I knew something. It was very hard work.

I can hardly wait to go back and work to feel I actually deserve the patch. The Appleseed instructors, at least in Monroe, were wonderful, as are the generous patriots who donate their land to the cause.

Very worthwhile course!

It's a 'reduced' 500 yard simulation but the knowledge and training that you receive will transfer to any long arm you choose.
My brother shot it in NJ a few months ago and was the only one to be 'Appleseed Certified'. Not that easy, he says... and he's an ex Army sniper.
He shot it four times before qualifying.
I wish they would come to northern NJ. I'd go in a heartbeat.

So many people moaned that I just though it would be better if I took down my post. Everyone is for free speech until I, or someone, posts something you disagree with - is that it?

You Dont Have To Get Bent Out Of Shape Just Realize That Someday

we may actually be fighting for our lives and yes I and everyone here wants to see this whole mess resolved peacefully but TPTB may want to take this all the way and people do not need negative seeds planted.

Since you have chosen to leave the mainland maybe you could refrain from the negativity when we are exploring this type of "hypothetical scenario" because if it does happen you won't be affected, however if you want to continue the same I'll just sit back and watch the sparks fly...

We will prevail one way or the other. You might want to check out the book I linked to. It shows how everyone working independently can take down the system nonviolently by monkey wrenching at every golden opportunity. When one sees it others follow and that gives others courage and pretty soon everyones doing it and things come to a halt...

No, still the same shape!

I take no offense. We are all pretty much on the same side. We want liberty and freedom to prevail. We have differing views, and that is just fine.

Sorry - didn't meant to be negative. I am as passionate about my views as you are about yours. What I consider to be realistic, you and others interpret to be negative. And yes sometimes I go too far.

Ron Paul is against violence and I share his views. I would rather see you safeguard the lives of your family and yourself than to risk getting shot. That's all. I want you alive, Thomas, as well as ecorob and all of the others on this site. Everyone is far more valuable to an eventual restoration of constitutional government if they are still living and breathing.

Anisha zenpiper Made A Rather Long Comment In The Vein We Don't

have a chance blah bla blah so on and so forth against the military in the case of martial law/civil unrest and there was some immediate trouncing on him.He slammed the Appleseed program over improper English and discounted them immediately.
( it was infered by one DPer that there was a certain colored streak running dawn his back and basically what he does is armchair criticize and denigrate from and Island afar ) I jumped in made a few statements about the worst being that he should retire from moderation here and get a job as an engrish teacher.

Well everything went poof as zenpiper can dish it out but can't take the heat, oh and I called zen Janet Reno in reference to Reno's shaky hands because I could just I could just imagine him in his little sweltering hut with his hand shaking over the keyboard waiting to delete threads quivering with glee.

This will probably go poof too...thats about it in a nutshell.

Good try!

You are right, I don't think the appleseed program will help restore constitutional government. It's my opinion, that's all.

I took my part of the post down because it was pulling everyone else off topic. Others obviously see merit in the appleseed gang.

What's interesting is if you are truly for freedom, then it would be swell to allow others to post their views freely. If you disagree, fine. But to resort to insults and name calling doesn't accomplish much. Nobody's perfect.

But do whatever makes you happy.

Ok Zen, nice of you to admit to what you've been doing around

here...however, deleting comments you deem to be "off topic" or because someone does not agree with you, is something I find very appalling. You tout free speech while eliminating it at the same time through your deletions. Heck, this thread is so far off topic I don't even remember what it was/is about anymore!

If people saw merit in something and wish to discuss it even though it appears to be "off topic" to you, it is not something that needs moderation. You don't own this site and neither do I (I will grant you that since you'll probably try to use that on me as a rebuttal), but the open exchange of ideas is what this site is about. If you are having trouble staying behind your stance, then perhaps it is time to rethink it -- and there is definitely no shame in finding that maybe your opinion wasn't all it cracked up to be and admitting that someone else just might have a valid point that you'd never considered. Believe me when I say my opinions/beliefs have changed quite a bit because of the valid opinions of others.

I guess what I am getting around to is, it's OK to have your initial thought(s) change and instead of deleting them, continue the conversation by letting the other person(s) know what/how/why you now agree with them or see their viewpoint. No need to delete anything, I think you just have a hard time admitting when others are right...am I right? --oh wait, you might not answer that.

I am interested in hearing all sides explain why they are taking

their position even if it is an extremist position so that I may learn from all sides.

Debating ones position used to be a very honorable American attribute until a weird 'prison/victim' mentality began to dominate our culture, which only serves to dumb us down. I really despise the name calling here.

I would have been interested in why you felt the Appleseed program is not necessarily a positive one for the country?

If we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all. -Noam Chomsky

Thank you Anisha

I do not think that violence will work. Dr. Paul is against violence and so am I.

Any armed conflict, regardless of who wins, everyone loses. War is indeed hell. It takes years to rebuild from any sizable conflict, and it takes a lot of money.

And yet, there are people who are quite eager to get guns and to fight a new revolution. They are sincere and I admire their sincerity. These are the Appleseed people, and other patriots. I honestly hope they win. But they will be up against extraordinary firepower if it comes to armed conflict. The odds are long. But, you never know! Maybe people who are just learning to fire a rife, handle kickback and aim straight will take out trained snipers or sharpshooters with assault weapons. You never know.

Cheers.

Thank you for your honest comment Zen. I appreciate it.

While I agree it is good to know how to handle a gun or rifle, I am thinking in terms of someone breaking into my home and how I could defend myself and family.

But if there were a SWAT team that busted into my home......right. I wouldn't have a chance and that is the truth of it. Things are what they are right now and I do feel they will necessarily reach a crescendo of violence here in the States the likes of which no one has experienced since the British occupied us over 200 years ago.

Still it doesn't hurt to learn not just how to fire a gun/rifle, but to learn what took place during the revolutionary war.

I am not a proponent of violence, however, it grieves me to see how our government has been transformed into a violent machine not just world wide but also towards its citizens.

For that reason I will pay close attention to the results of the Continental Congress. If anything it will serve as a record of grievances for all to see.
Naturally, I wonder how much teeth this will have since only the smallest percentage of the population amongst us have participated and that news of this was not widespread. We will see.

http://therootsofchange.com

We agree about domestic weapons

You probably know this, but in Switzerland, every home has a gun or two. It's required by law and people are trained to shoot. As a result, there are no burglaries in Switzerland - or almost none.

As far as citizens bearing arms in readiness, one poster said that there were ten million armed people standing by. That seems like a lot to me, but it is good that they are willing to put themselves in harm's way for (what's left of) the Republic. Not for me, but I admire those who act from conviction.

how can MN continue to let this happen?

...frankly, it is quite disturbing to hear the defeatist attitude that zenpiper, your janet reno, displays...

it was shocking to see again what zenpiper wrote in this thread...i am not at all surprised to see it gone because this is what he does every time he says something so foolish that all who are on line, at the time, completely discredit him, so much so that he becomes embarrassed and afraid that MN will see one of his mods screwing up, so he deletes everything!

he has done this quite often...in this particular thread he basically said we should all just lay down and die in much the same way he has because resistance is futile!...why would a moderator say that here?

doesn't michael have the ability to review what is deleted?
this is basically what i asked and, yes, my post along with his resistance is futile post and many others critical of him, disappeared...

if MN would just look at what is happening to his "baby" i know he would fix this problem and fire zenpiper as a moderator

does he not know? does he not care? zenpiper is singlehandedly destroying the DP

i ask again...can't MN go back and see what his mods delete?

i throw myself on the tip of the sword and await MN's judgement if he would just go back and look...

Not quite

I don't mind spirited rebuttals, but to put words in my mouth isn't quite fair.

"in this particular thread he basically said we should all just lay down and die in much the same way he has because resistance is futile!...why would a moderator say that here?"

Not so. I never said resistance is futile. I said armed resistance is not likely to win, and that ones priorities ought to be saving the lives of one's family and oneself. If there are those who think the answer lies in individuals picking up rifles and taking on the NWO, then that's their decision, obviously. But it's not for me. I have no interest in fighting anybody. I would be in interested in non-combatant support, however.

Yes I deleted my post (and some comments that followed got swept off too). But anybody can delete what they wrote also. Nothing special about that. It was pulling people off topic, when this thread is about the appleseed gang.

Anyhow, feel free to email me if you have some suggestions. In the past the only things I deleted were personal attacks, profanity and racist remarks. But I do feel strongly about non-violence, as does Ron Paul.

Zenpiper,

I noticed in more than one of your comments here that you seem to be under the impression that everyone has 'delete' capability.

Only mods have that.

Everyone else just has 'edit' and 'reply'. Once a comment is posted, it can only be edited, and editing capability is only good until someone replies to a comment. After that, the comment is locked in.

Also, I think it is standard that when a comment is deleted, the comments in its reply chain are swept away, also.

you tell yourself whatever...

you need to to help you sleep through your tropical nights 6000 miles AWAY from us...
frankly, i am not interested in seeing you repost what you said and trying to sugar coat it here now...why delete it at all if you are going to come back repeat now and repeat it?
i paraphrased what you said and stated that so please don't put words into my mouth
again, just please do your own thing and please leave the rest of us alone...you deleted your true feelings (again) and now no one is the wiser ...

i don't want to be anywhere around you nor do i wish to email you...my hope is that i never have to deal with your embarrassment to this movement again
