Ports to Plains Corridor- New name for NAFTA highway
Welcome to the Ports-to-Plains region, North America's energy and agricultural heartland!
The Ports-to-Plains Alliance, based in Lubbock, Texas, is a non-profit, non-partisan, community-driven advocacy group led by mayors, councilpersons, economic development officials, business and other opinion leaders from a nine-state, 2300-plus mile economic development corridor between Texas, and Alberta, Canada. Over the past decade, Ports-to-Plains Alliance members have raised over U.S. $1 billion in federal funding for road improvements in the nine-state Ports-to-Plains region. Today, we collaborate with our federal and state leaders, partners in Canada and Mexico, and industry partners, to deliver the infrastructure, food and fuel to secure the quality of life of America's great cities. At the same time, we embrace America's new energy economy, and are capitalizing upon wind power, biofuels and other innovation sectors to renew one of America's greatest legacies, the rural heartland.

Glad that you made a separate thread about issue.

Echelon makes a very good point. How many times have they....
said the very same thing and then continued with their plan anyway. We should wait and see before letting our guard down.
Example: Has anyone heard of the "Ports-to-Plains Corridor?" No?
Well how about the "Trans-Texas Corridor." We stopped that did we? With a name change and a little time, it goes on as planned.

"How can we justify to the unemployed and underemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire?" - Dr. Ron Paul
Why am I not surprised?!
Because I have watched the “NAFTA Superhighway” change to to “Trans-Texas Corridor” and then to “Innovative Connectivity Plan” to try to confuse and obfuscate the fact that the NAFTA Superhighway plan is still in existence!
In 2007 I wrote my congressman about the NAFTA Superhighway, and he assured me that there was no such thing---it was only that they had "public/private partnerships" to construct highways, and that is a good thing! Well---I don't think it is a good thing to have foreign countries owning our infrastructure!
I suppose if Ron Paul speaks
I suppose if Ron Paul speaks out against this corridor under the new name, that despicable Jeff Toobin will pop up on t.v. again and say that it doesn't exist and is just a figment of Ron Paul's imagination, like he did before when Ron Paul spoke out against it. Watch this video for a refresher on what happened during the 2008 presidential republican primary debates

I think its cool that when Ron Paul made that short but sweet speech, he got some serious applause from the audience. He also seemed to make Fred Thompson(cfr member)a bit nervous and uncomfortable.

There are 16 in just that group.
It appears to me, this is where the jobs and communities of the future will be.
