Libertarian Candidate left off La. Senate Race poll...
Please help me correct this poll at http://www.houmatoday.com... by notifying the editor of the error...

Only David Vitter, Republican and David Melancon, Democrat are the only candidates listed. They also fail to leave a "None Of The Above" option..
Tony "G" Gentile is running as a Libertarian
http://gentileforsenator....
Help support him if you can...
»

Vitter is tolerated because of his recent support
of anti Bush, pro liberty-ish stand. People don't know there is a pro liberty option without baggage.
down to 12% - vote for the Tony "G" if you can.
I'm surprised with the number of "other" and "not sure" votes which seem to be taking votes from all three candidates.

What can LA locals do to help
Tony?
1976-1982 USMC, You can thank me for my service by voting for Dr. Ron Paul, President 2012
Yes, what can we do.???
There is a strong group of Ron Paul supporters in Louisiana. We are prime ground for a dark horse Libertarian to outshine the Vitter and Melancon.
Melancon is a much disliked candidate in the area. Vitter has plenty of baggage.
I recommend that Tony visit Houma..... right in the heart of Melancon's congressional district.
Thanks for the interest folks!
At 16% with now over 1200 votes in I think it is fair to say Tony has real support. Now we need to tap into that and grow it.
That's where you folks come in.
Visit his website and volunteer. Send him or me an e-mail with some contact info and we'll get you set up doing whatever it is you are interested in or can offer a hand on for the campaign.
I agree, Tony needs to visit Melancon's district. There is strong LP base all along the HWY90 corridor and in the River Parishes.
I'll let him know ya'll are itchin' for a visit and see if we can make that happen soon.
In the meantime, if you know of anyone (or yourself) who is interested in being a serious candidate for Melancon's third district seat please let me know.
Our strategy is to field a full slate in the general election in every district and the Senate. Having candidates statewide only reinforces our efforts.
Please visit http://gentileforsenator.com and http://louisianalibertarian.net for more info and to volunteer and/or contribute.

CHeck it out! Tony "G" listed... with 15% of the vote!

hey, keep the votes coming!!!
Well I'll be a son of gun. Curious though,
how they ascribed all those votes to Tony without resetting the poll. My guess is they noted those votes all rolled in in the last 24 hours and they were also receiving emails asking for his inclusion and maybe indicating they were forced to vote "not sure."
However it went down, it works for me.
Thanks to everyone here on DP.
Now let's see if we can push Tony's numbers up and show support where it is due.

@ 15%.. need more peeps!
The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
If we can get other up to 20-25%
It will show that the poll writers have really erred. keep it up guys.

Voted Other.
But I'd rather Vitter over Melancon
Agreed. But I will be voting for Tony in November anyway.
The state being what it is lately, there's no telling exactly where Tony's support will be coming from. Thanks for voting Other.
And not to diminish your comment (because I agree if those are my only two options) but this is a great example where we can "turn the tables" of the lesser of two evils syndrome.
#1 - It is often cited that in a three way race, candidate C, not being an anointed front runner will "take votes" from candidate A or B.
This leads into the fallacy of "lesser of two evils" that since it is a (wrongly) foregone conclusion that either candidate A or B will win, and candidate "B" is evil (or vice versa) that therefore you should not vote for candidate C at all because he has no chance of winning (again wrongfully assumed) and thus we need to vote for the lesser of evils to keep bigger evil from winning. This makes candidate C's non-viability a self fulfilling prophecy through circular reasoning: Assume an outcome. Take action to make the outcome happen. Outcome happens. Declare original prediction correct without regard to your own action having any effect.
#2 - This ignores the fact that an election is not decided generally until votes are actually cast. Therefore it could be said that lesser evil candidate A is really taking votes that would have gone to candidate C had morons not used the completely specious fallacy they call logic posited in #1 above. Thus, candidate A should not be voted for. Why waste your vote on evil, when everyone who would have voted for A out of fear of B can just as easily vote their conscience for candidate C. In either case, candidate B loses but in #2 candidate C - the not evil one, wins.
Ditto
Just like I voted for RP I will no longer vote for the lesser of two evils.

Voted for 'other'
16% of 589
they have included an "Other" option.
Which now has 15% of the vote.

It's sad that they cannot recognize a viable candidate...
I would think that the Christian Conservatives would be willing to look at someone else besides Vitter.
Thanks CAZERINGUE
I was unaware of that poll.
We are looking for volunteers to help the party with issues such as this one. We need help keeping tabs on the media, looking for polls, articles, etc. to make sure our candidates are covered fairly and not omitted or ignored.
If you are interested, send me an e-mail.
I sent a request to include Tony in their poll, as well as adding the "none of the above / other" option.
I also offered another copy of the original press release announcing Tony's candidacy back in June.
Let's see if they play fair.
** for you or anyone else interested in helping out, this is for the Louisiana Party only. If you are interested in assisting in another state, please contact the national party at lp.org
They have added Other...
but no Tony G
Interesting. Perhaps they are trying to verify his candidacy?
I offered them a copy of the original press release. But I haven't received a reply yet.
I also added the message to our twitter feed. So maybe between that and the DP they have a little more email than they are used to.
Sent the emails
Don't know Tony, taking your word for it that he's a good guy.
He is thank you.

I Sent an Email, Thank You for the Alert
Hi cazeringue,
I sent an email suggesting his inclusion. Thank you for the alert and best wishes for a great campaign for Mr. Gentile.
Best regards.
