My Apologies. Wow, I blew it big-time - sort of...

What impresses me about this site is how passionate people are for the truth. That passion plays out in very interesting ways at times.
-They will "hammer" you for posting a positive comment (made in ignorance perhaps) about a neo-con media figure who happens to say something right (and without the ussual added errors mixed in).
-Then, when you look into the matter yourself, you discover that their concerns were legit, even though their passion came across as a bit rude.
-Then you, being a person like them who cares about the truth, will come back with a very gracious post like the one above... basically confessing a degree of ignorance and a willingness to continue learning... which shows integrity and passion on your part.
-Then the same ones who may have been a bit 'rude' before are talking you up and encouraging you in your efforts to learn more... their passion is just as likely to build you up when they see themselves in your awakening.

You have nothing to be ashamed of. The shame belongs to those whose minds are as closed as their eyes.

When they know I am actively political and they are beginning to wake from their slumber, they will say that they watch Bill O'Reilly! And they are proud of themselves for being so 'well-informed'!
Thennnn they progress to Sean Hannity, (the pompous warmonger) and think they are now a 'Great American' and even more well informed!
A larger step to being well-informed is Glenn Beck! This is the ultimate! (in their eyes)
Then they become involved in the TEA Parties and I feed them information about the FED and the Constitution, I get them involved in signing petitions to congressmen on issues that Faux News is covering, and beyond---and they can see that I do stay up on current issues, so they respect my opinion and gradually wake up.
I think the trick is (and there is a bible verse about this) to first feed them milk as we feed a baby. That is all they can digest. Then go one step further and feed them pablum as they can stomach it. It takes awhile to get to the MEAT, but if you are patient and encourage rather than put them down you can win some to being Patriots!
Two years ago I was a "warmonger" because I didn't know any better and I had let myself believe the mantra that the politicians and tv spouted: "I would rather fight them over there" and "We must support the troops by or we are unpatriotic.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and realize they can learn----I did, and I am still learning!

we all make mistakes, the important part is looking honestly and openly to what is true. You OP above is gracious and positive.

Some people just talk a good game but don't mean it.

What they say on specific issues sounds wonderful, but they are either silent on other just as important issues, or they attack without reason. In other words, they are not consistent.

I would still tell you to bring what you find here, and post it for all to see. There are many here who still post a lot about Glenn Beck, the most deceptive of them all. Look at all the posts about Alan Grayson. Does he support the Constitution when it comes to health care and big government? He is on the opposite side of the fence and against Ron Paul on these issues. He is also not consistent, but no one here calls out other DPers who post about him, me included. Learn from what these people have to say on specific issues, but don't expect them to apply the same logic elsewhere.

So, I would tell you to still bring it here.

I wouldn't be surprised if WalMart claims 'copyright' on the interior of their stores, and shuts the site down.
