A shame some of these people can't take a job that pays under the minimum wage. It would be illeeeeegal. Citizens are not allowed to voluntarily exchange labor for money without government involvement.

Also, The Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson, was Obama's friend who misused nearly $1 million in Federal Grant money for AmeriCorps and fired the Inspector General when he called KJ on it.

Don't worry guys... Wall Street and D.C. are hard at work propping up the housing market to keep prices unaffordable... that way everyone must work 10X harder to pay off the fascist bankers, and pay 10X more in taxes for worthless government projects/bailouts/wars. And the result is the poor, who can barely scrape by as it is, get thrown out onto the street when they lose their jobs.

We can take heart in the reassurance that our near-future times, with their disruptions of society and learning, are the darkest hours before the dawning of a millennium of peace. Perhaps Nostradamus is seeing what other collective visions of our times have described as our civilizations collective nervous breakdown on a global scale between 2000 and 2030. This is the twilight time between a black era and a golden age, in which we must face what is false, uncreative and life-negative about our religions, political, economic, and social traditions. The passage through the valley of humanity's wake-up call will be painful, but such a nervous breakdown - or should I say "breakthrough"? - can shock us out of our slumber and give birth to a new sense of humanity. Only when we undergo the loss of the past and its fossilized traditions and suffer the coming planetary disasters, can we confront what is collectively Satonic before entering into a time of universal peace.

And in the meantime, governments at all levels are desperate to keep foreclosures off the market, to prop up banking balance sheets. And to keep zoning laws just as retardedly destructive as ever, making sure for every dollar a construction worker earns from the building of a home, the army of parasitic lawyers, tax feeding bureaucrats and "community" busybodies gets at least two. And the taxman gets three, so he can help pitch in for some New York banker's South Hampton mansion.

The big difference between now and the frontier days one lady mentioned, is simply that back then, there were no government funded and mandated riffraff to drag along in ones quest to improve one's situation. Now things are so very different, and these perfectly willing and able to care for themselves homeless people, are instead being actively stomped into the gutter, only occasionally to be dragged onstage to serve as props for one misguided and kleptocratic political faction or another.

Inflows to stock mutual funds this year so far is zero. So where is all the money coming from to drive the price of stocks higher?

Yeah, but the Dow is about to hit 10,000 again so everything is going well. The rich people are getting richer with all you generous tax donations so everything is fine. Thank you very very very much tent people.

maybe this is the start of freedom, to be rid of all debt and work as a community and rebuild.

it is sad and hard im sure on peoples pride. I wish i had money, it would be a good ministry to go and feed them and help them.
