To The Patriots Who Want A Blimp - READ PLEASE

1) Many of the people who pledged support put down the $5000.00 maximum amount. Almost none of them will actually donate that full amount. You will need to reach out to many new donors. Massive $50-$100 donations from new people is what's needed.
2) Many of the people who originally pledged are not comfortable with the Blimp project being under a private company and not a PAC. To them you must emphasize it being run by Trevor (the creator of www.ThisNovember5th.com - we know where he lives) and that it needed to be done like this due to legal issues (direct them to http://www.ronpaulblimp.com/PAC_Explanation.php)
3) Many people DO NOT KNOW IT IS TIME TO DONATE. There was no earth shattering announcement made that it was time to donate. Make this video #1 on YouTube to fix this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41S_kjin4pg
4) Also, there are many little problems with the site due to poor leadership and/or programming. There is no specific $$$ goal by a certain date. There is no thermometer-like graph on www.RonPaulBlimp.com showing how close we are to that goal. Also the way the "sponsor" and "buying minutes" thing is setup is confusing. (Trevor, I love you, but you stink :) ).
Once you come to terms with the above, you will know what you have to do (find new supporters, educate people so they're comfortable "sponsoring", make new inspirational videos to donate and get them to the YouTube front page and lastly, force Trevor to make the needed site updates)

I think he has done a wonderful job co-ordinating this project. Could he tweak it, sure, but let's worry about the meat and potatoes before we start worrying about the green beans and parsley!

got Ron Pauls VP's supporters on board! If he was to pick someone that ia already in the race with lots of supporters, lets say just for starters, someone like Edwards...He has lots of supporters. The blimp could read "Paul,Edwards 2008." Just think, we could get 2 million for the blimp over night with his supporters help.

What a nervous bunch we are! Reading some of the comments about the blimp are quite shocking. Isn't it best to keep being positive and do all that you can individually do to keep RP name in front of new people?
If you don't like this, or that, effort... do something creative and put your idea in motion. Wasting time beating someone else's ideas simply is wasted energy when we all should be out promoting RP. Cheers!

I dunno, I like the blimp guys and I think this is a great project. In every city they go to, they intend to invite the local media up in the blimp and use it for the purpose of promoting charities as well. I think the benefits definitely justify the cost in this case.

Of course I've got a double stake in this cuz I've already contributed and don't want to see my money wasted.
But mainly we need the publicity for Uncle Ron.

The publicity that the campaign will get from this will more than make up for the money spent. (This is for you folks whining about the money being diverted from the main campaign. I suppose you would want to derail the "Five for Freedom" fund drive too)
Just think of all of the potential Paul converts there are out there. (I meet them every day). There are tons of them that need a campaign of "Shock & Awe" to get their attention.
Just think, there are millions of untapped souls out there that haven't even said "Paul who?", yet. A stunt like this will go down in the history books.
And you can be part of it.
And lighten up, if you don't like the way this show is being run (God bless Trevor & company) you can suggest ways to make the next one better.
But if we don't get this bird off the ground in 5 days there just may not BE a next one !!!

I think even Dr. Paul supports this.
If you disagree with an idea, dispute it...which puts your ideas out for evaluation and possible dispute. This exchange of ideas results in progress, as we can find new ways of thought and possibly discover the flaws in our own ideas.
But in fact, you didn't even address rpcallblitz's argument which is that one who has not maxed out yet would be better off contributing directly to the campaign before contributing to the blimp. At the very least, this argument sounds reasonable. But you never even disputed the claim...instead going the route of calling him a "troll" and saying his ideas should just be disregarded. Isn't that exactly like those who refuse to address Ron Paul's arguments...claiming that he and his followers are "terrorists"?
If this campaign is about one theme, it's fighting for the freedom to dissent! So can we please stop with the "troll" accusations. They are childish, paranoid, completely inconsistent with Ron Paul’s message, and turn off potential supporters.
If you disagree to someone's post, then simply state why and accept that your ideas might also be contested.
I will post a similar reply to any "troll" accusation that I read, as it is high time this nonsense is rejected!
