The death or the triumph of our movement...
No, really, it rests with you.
I have a confession: I haven't been as diligent or dedicated as I ought to have been for last few months. I say "ought," because I appreciate that the perspective we share carries with it a profound moral obligation.
I have been busy. Much of those things with which I have occupied myself have been in the fashion of long-term projects toward the advancement of our common goal. I have not been entirely lax, but neither have I been fully engaged.
Most of my continued engagement in the movement has resulted from my frequent visits to the DailyPaul. Truly, this has succeeded in keeping me informed and interested. Though I have subscribed to some of the other progeny of the Paul movement, CFL and YAFL, etc., none have kept whetted my dedication to liberty like this site. I visit the DailyPaul several times a day.
And here is the purpose of my post: I want to inquire whether, like me, there are others who, though wholeheartedly dedicated to this cause of ours, have fallen off lately because of, well, life. Witnessing the things that have transpired in the last few months, both regarding our own successes and simply the astonishing transformation of our socio-political landscape, it has been too easy simply to gawk. But the point is, fervent few, to act!
Now is the time. Now is the time for ascendancy, for triumph. It occurs to me that, if those like myself, who, though consummately dedicated in spirit, flag in fact, we have nothing but the rote recitations of our ideals to proffer. This will not do.
I'm saying nothing more than this: do the easy thing - join a local group. Do the hard thing: be daring. Let your passion infuse your perspective, let your dedication overwhelm the wan and weak advocates of complacency. What good is any of this furious intensity, this determination, if, fearing the consternation of the middling masses about us, we resign rather than resolve?
If you are still here, a visitor, frequenter, or better, a contributor to the this site, then you are those who comprise the anonymous masses upon whom rests the responsibility for all of it. Maybe you have settled into satiety. Don't.
Belie your belief with your being. Act. Embrace the opportunity, the frustrating and infuriating insensibility of our situation, and take to task its representatives. Join the local group of people that may, now, months after the excitement of the campaign, be dwindling, and resurrect its life. Go join your local chapter, and make it make a difference. I will.

I think we've all went in various directions
... and honestly it's been good... I've seen various actions around the country... things like the tea parties, to the various candidates running for Senate and Congress... I must say... here in Pensacola several Ron Paulers have a cable access show and a weekly radio show... from property rights issues, to reinvestigating 9-11, to the free state project to the numerous things that have been reported on TV... I'm proud to say I'm happily surprised at all the various things going on... I still hear Ron Paul's name almost daily... and that can't be a bad thing!
The Fireteam for Freedom lives on!

I had shingles
for the last week or so... right after a weak swine flu episode. Shinlges = Pain. Swine Flu = nothing much compared to that! (I am mid. 30's/M)
If I let my inner self go wild right now the next big thing I am gonna do is grab a digging spade and go shovel out a large pond so I can get some ducks and fish. Maybe I will try to do something good for mankind whilst at work. I might be too busy to pay my mortgage. ?oops?
