Despite the fact that he’s not the establishment choice in Kentucky’s GOP Senate primary, anti-tax activist Rand Paul outraised Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson by more than $350,000 during the third quarter.

Grayson announced Thursday that he brought in about $643,000 from July through September and ended the quarter with $1.1 million cash on hand.

Paul, the son of Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) who is running to the ideological right of Grayson, raised just over $1 million for the quarter. He ended September with $912,000 cash on hand.

Ron Paul out raised his

Ron Paul out raised his opposition in the Presidential race too. Hopefully this translates a little bit better to votes than Ron's fund raising efforts did.

Excellent news

I can't wait to see the turnover in 2010. If we get enough liberty candidates in there, we could be living different lives in about a decade. Unbelievable.

It's a great start

.

I saw it captioned on the nightly news!

What a great way for the Ron Paul army to storm Washington....one at a time in the Senate and House. Rand is facing the very establishment in the GOP that we all disdain.......backroom deal makers, and bought politicians.

Real Campaign reform would only allow:
Contributions from individuals living in the candidates home district via residential address check, and limit the contributions to $500.

No Pac money. No corporate money. No organized "league" money. No "party" money. Only individuals withing the districts. Period. Then we'd see as close to "honest" campaigns as possible, and let the media coverage shrivel up as campaign money dries up.

What a simple idea for a simple bill to clean up Congress.

I disagree

If there is a demand, someone will provide a supply. It may come through the blackmarket like drugs, but it will come.

The only way to really stop it is to take away the power of gov to be able to provide favors. That is why they buy polititions in the first place. The only solution is to take away the power of the Gov - that fix other problems too, not just campaign finance.

Whoo-hoo!
