Iowa Campaign For Liberty is pleased to announce that U.S. Congressman and former presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul will make a visit to Iowa this November 13th and 14th.
Congressman Paul's 2008 presidential campaign ignited a grassroots movement that culminated in the formation of Campaign For Liberty, a political and educational organization focused on the principles Dr. Paul championed during his presidential campaign and in his eleven terms in congress.
Details of Dr. Paul's visit are forthcoming and will be announced as soon as the schedule is determined.

I would be very excited about another Paul run even if it was a losing effort again.
I wonder what we can do different this time. We just need more supporters period because I think the movement did everything it could with the given amount of supporters we had.
Perhaps the ground will have shifted more in Paul's direction by 2012.

I'd prefer (but couldn't stand) Ron to wait it out and get in as one of the last ones to declare their candidacy. This way he still has another year left of great media press and getting on every other day on national TV.
Look at what has happened to schiff. He declares, now he's getting nailed on politics questions when he's on TV, he's constatnly having to defend himself on tv, when instead he could still be educating people and waking them up. But now people watching just think "oh he's a candidate, and everything coming out of his mouth is probably BS" so he's not effectively utilizing national TV time. And half the questions you get when you become a candidate are just poltiical questions that have nothing to do with the issues or waking peopel up.
I don't want Ron to declare early, get a media blackout for a few months, and people thinking he's a politician. If anything, he can declare later than even he did in 2007 since we already have that critical mass or core supporters (or sites like DP) unlike he did back then, and we can get rocking and rolling right away. I'd say get in a 3-6 months before the debates.

He needs to throw his hat in early so we can saddle up and do our thing. Some folk in MSM will continue to try and fight him, but I think this time around will be much better and more respectful.

FairTax sponsored Iowa debate won't let Ron Paul participate?
I was browsing the news for Iowa polls and ran across this piece which says that Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance will not let Ron Paul participate in their upcoming event which is being co-sponsored by FairTax.org. The information was apparently obtained by an email from the Ron Paul campaign.
Ron Paul recently placed second in a straw poll released by the National Taxpayers Union. The NTU conference was co-organized with Iowans for Tax Relief and, given his record of never voting to raise taxes, his exclusion does seem a bit odd.
Ron Paul fans gained some notoriety recently for flooding the phone banks in order to stop Saul Anuzis from circulating a petition to keep Dr. Paul out of future debates. Will they go to work to ensure he is included in this one?

It is time to get those Ron Paul 2012 stickers on your vehicles. Get enough of them out there, you don't need to say anything for a while. Just carry the banner.

And when it comes time to spend campaign money, maybe try a different approach: spend it on a lot of TV air time. Sharp, punchy, short spots.
