Are Facebook, Myspace, social networking sites, and the NSA making a "Real" library of our lives?
Sometimes I have random thoughts and this is one of them. Over the years as Social network websites, like Myspace, started to really become a social center in people's lives did social networking websites in general becomes the next big thing. Blogging developed soon there after, adding even more fuel to the fire of efficient internet information exchanges between large groups of people who all shared a digital space.
As this transgressed an awakening started occurring which caused certain groups of people to react. What started was nothing sort of Revolutionary. A new breed of American has been awaken that was not seen since 1776. The story of all of our lives are going to change in big ways very soon and I hope everyone is prepared for whats coming. As these Patriotic American's with the heart of "Don't Tread On Me" start beginning to use the systems in place to make a real difference in American Politics.
Now, with the on set of great people trying to do great things, we have the ridiculous use of technology with not only privacy right but are now including property rights.Look at FaceBook owning ALL material posted on their platform, even if you delete your account. But my argument shifts to 80 years from now when that information becomes public knowledge in various forms. All of those who really tried to make a difference will be stored in a library of history. With the technology of today it is easy for all those in the tech government to be able to log aim conversations(aol had an update a few years ago that made all conversations on their aim messenger service "their" property), emails (obviously), etc. Plus the NSA records every single second of every single cellphone, even when its off!, of pretty much every phone in the United States and stores that all in a huge database. Go figure.
But looking even more forward...
Imagine what insights those who are the Real leaders for change in our country. Those who are truely standing up and organizing for the betterment of all. When they win, because you cannot stop an idea whose time has come, their entire lives will be captured in all these digital moments, like I'm creating right now, equating to a time capsule. Perhaps my great grand children will be able to read up on their great grandfather through the use of digital archiving from recording and filing all of this information over time. We must think that even in the evil of it all, privacy and property, in the end the People will utilize that for the use of good and benefit of all.
So when I post here I like to make sure I've got my tie on straight; am cool, calm, and collected, and ready to present myself. I want to make sure I hold myself to a way I would have wanted my great grand children know about about me. Also in turn how the rest of the world civilization will remember me. Makes me want to conduct myself with a little bit concern around here as who knows who could be reading this some day long in the future as a part of a history project about the R3OVLtion; we mean it with Love. =)
edit part 2.
As technology develops and more platforms are developed and intertwined with other platforms, such as facebook mobile, cellphone + GPS, and a slew of other things. Just like technologies are integrated so will software platforms. Horizontal software integration will occur making all platforms intertwined. Eventually all the information you've compiled over your life will be integrated and organized creating a library of your life; every picture, every blog, relationship, video, and even public argument will be recorded.
Today we are all making our own history. Everything you do does matter. And one day, many people will know the about the sacrifices and contributions you've made, one way or another, in our new and exciting time. I see more and more people coming up and standing up for what they believe in at heart, Liberty; Freedom with Responsibility. These people will make a big difference as the genuine and long term movement occurs to sway this big American ship we are gonna be in for one heck of a ride. This is why I tip my hat to Ron Paul for his 30 years of hard work.
God speed whoever you are out there. Those among us who are carrying the flag of the Warning and the Snake, make general Gadsden proud.

Yep And Here's Thier Library...

Who's in Big Brother's Database?
By James Bamford
The Secret Sentry: The Untold History of the National Security Agency
by Matthew M. Aid
Bloomsbury, 423 pp., $30.00
On a remote edge of Utah's dry and arid high desert, where temperatures often zoom past 100 degrees, hard-hatted construction workers with top-secret clearances are preparing to build what may become America's equivalent of Jorge Luis Borges's "Library of Babel," a place where the collection of information is both infinite and at the same time monstrous, where the entire world's knowledge is stored, but not a single word is understood. At a million square feet, the mammoth $2 billion structure will be one-third larger than the US Capitol and will use the same amount of energy as every house in Salt Lake City combined.
Unlike Borges's "labyrinth of letters," this library expects few visitors. It's being built by the ultra-secret National Security Agency—which is primarily responsible for "signals intelligence," the collection and analysis of various forms of communication—to house trillions of phone calls, e-mail messages, and data trails: Web searches, parking receipts, bookstore visits, and other digital "pocket litter." Lacking adequate space and power at its city-sized Fort Meade, Maryland, headquarters, the NSA is also completing work on another data archive, this one in San Antonio, Texas, which will be nearly the size of the Alamodome. Coincidentally, I just read today an article on this very topic:

U.S. SPIES BUY STAKE IN FIRM THAT MONITORS BLOGS, TWEETS
America’s spy agencies want to read your blog posts, keep track of your Twitter updates — even check out your book reviews on Amazon.
In-Q-Tel, the investment arm of the CIA and the wider intelligence community, is putting cash into Visible Technologies, a software firm that specializes in monitoring social media. It’s part of a larger movement within the spy services to get better at using ”open source intelligence” — information that’s publicly available, but often hidden in the flood of TV shows, newspaper articles, blog posts, online videos and radio reports generated every day.
Visible crawls over half a million web 2.0 sites a day, scraping more than a million posts and conversations taking place on blogs, online forums, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon. (It doesn’t touch closed social networks, like Facebook, at the moment.)

Who Effing Cares?
They got dossiers on every American. Facebook has been tremendously helpful spreading information and getting people together for an event. Stop being cowards and use the tools we got while we still can. They're taking over the internet after cap and trade and the healthcare is done ( and it will be without a massive revolt-like one where we actually stop traffic in all major cities).

I reserve the right to govern myself.
Facebook is a voluntary system.
Any information you give to them you do willingly.
Anybody could make a library of it given the resources and time.
CHA-CHING!
CHA-CHING!
Pretty much all systems are
Pretty much all systems are voluntary by their terms. Most people don't read the fine print which is obviously not a good thing.
I'm sure that a large amount of people would refuse the terms and conditions if they actually understood them. Anything that I myself generate should be my damn property!
My fingerprints, my property.
My pictures, my property.
A picture OF me, my property.
ANYTHING that is derived from me myself and my body is mine.

I reserve the right to govern myself.
Not if you agree otherwise...?
If you sell (or give the rights away for free) a picture of yourself you can't just go and claim it back because it is "derived from" you.
And yes, facebook is voluntary. You're going to blame facebook for people not reading the fine print?
CHA-CHING!
CHA-CHING!
I do not agree.
I am sure that those who signed up in the beginning didn't know that the information about them would be collected, stored, and used for profit.
I'm sure that if you asked any facebook user they would be ignorant. In a strange sort of way, facebook used fraud. Registrants did not have full disclosure upon signing up and no way to opt out of "data mining" on them.
I reserve the right to govern myself.
I reserve the right to govern myself.
The more I learn about
The more I learn about Facebook, the more I'm convinced that it is a CIA-backed operation. The fact that they have Bilderberg members on the Board of Directors and have former Dept. of Defense in upper management positions is extremely suspicious.
Interesting do you have a link for this informatio?
so I can post it on Facebook! lol. Really i'd like to have a link to spread the info.

Thanks Michael
It floors me how so many people on Facebook, give an hour by hour account of their lives. But now they know, who they could possibly be sharing this with.

I've seen something like this before but its always a good reference for others. Its amazing that all of these ideas are actually making it to the mainstream alternative movement, soon, with our help, they will be completely mainstream.

I don't think thats the best way.
I believe we should use these platforms to spread the message of liberty as much as possible. These are our tools too.
Perhaps a Liberty minded social networking site will start getting popular and then we can all shift to that.

Also if you choose to leave Facebook, your stuff is still archived with them into perpetuity.
But rest assured that if someone is really out to profile you they can get a lot of stuff on you just by virtue of your internet usage.
Try switching over to IXquick for your search engine needs.
All good points that you make...
Firstly, a few links:
Some believe that Facebook and other social networking sites were really developed by the CIA and NSA for the purpose of gathering information about us:
http://arstechnica.com/old/content/2007/01/8701.ars
But maybe you have your doubts about that particular conspiracy theory. Never mind, the ACLU and the Electronic Privacy Information Center say that these sites maintain WAY too much information about us. This is especially true if you take those silly Facebook quizzes (such as Which Crazy Bitch Are You? and Which TV Mom Are You?)...these quizzes get information from your profile, even if you click "private." Take a look at the ACLU's Facebook Quiz, "What Do Facebook Quizzes Know About You?":

I do, however, understand the ultimate point of your post. This is my goal too, but sometimes I fall short of being the well-spoken, calm, collected patriot, ever mindful that her efforts at activism may be read by future generations. But our Founders really were no different...they were passionate, very human people who concerned themselves with liberty, and not all of their efforts were admirable and perfect. And without that passion, who among us would have the energy to fight for what we believe in?
Though you didn't say this, I do not believe that government surveillance is a reason to moderate our speech. We should not allow fear to have such a chilling effect on our right to free political discourse.
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
Thomas Jefferson
Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietam servitutem. ("I prefer the tumult of liberty to the quiet of servitude"). Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 30 January 1787.
Hiding who we are
what we grow to. things we've done. I'll be happy for future generations to see all I have done and said regardless of what it is.
Why, Because it's the human condition. Anger, love, vitriol, contributions, friends, sex, romance, flirting, complaining, arguing, helping,
Why hide who we truly are. That's the epitome of denial in itself.
