A recent article in Salon is another in a series of pieces that draws attention to the rantings of Alex Jones, through his web TV show and websites, infowars and prisionplanet. Psychology Today's September edition (pictured left) also fans the flames, it is entitled Dark Minds: When does incredulity become paranoia. With Alex Jones the centerpiece, it makes the case that those seeking the truth are essentially a product of mental instability, by elevating him to 'Conspiracy King' status and associating his readers as mentally ill.

The most important thing AJ has accomplished was bringing people to the Ron Paul movement. He brought me here....

I love AJ for the same reason that the meek love Beck.

The difference is though, AJ is sincere and he has given his entire life/career to seeking the truth, justice, and the man behind the curtain.

While Beck was snorting coke with his Corporate pals, AJ was questioning FBI agents over the Waco massacre.

While both AJ and Beck are "theater," AJ goes home at night and believes in what he does and Beck drives home, laughs and whispers "idiots!" under his breath to himself in the car.

I love Alex, a huge fan of his. I don't necessarily believe everything he says, because what he basically does is take facts and spin them with a very heavy conspiracy theory twist to them which may or may not be a completely true position.

Some things I do believe.

Especially the fact that Alex is an extremely talented individual and frighteningly good at what he does. Extremely hilarious sometimes, too.

I agree. I don't follow everything he says or I'd be in a bunker somewhere with dynamite strapped to my chest chewing on garlic cloves. Ha ha!

I do however research things he says. When he says "google it" or "I have read the documents" then I try to read them, too.

Alex is not news but neither is ABC, FOX or the rest. They all have an agenda but, to be honest, I like AJ's agenda because it comes from the heart and you can tell that some of this stuff he researches blows his mind! I also like AJ's opinion because he sees things like I see them--nothing sugar coated!

If it wasn't for Alex Jones I wouldn't know anything about Ron Paul. If AJ is so bad why does Ron Paul go on his show at least once a month?

I just can't listen to Alex any more. I did for years, and he got more and more bombastic, given to tirades.

When he was on other shows - Alan Colmes, or Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, he was excellent. I will listen to those programs if Alex is on. He is polite, has the facts, doesn't scream, and is just fine.

There was Lenny Bruce and Mort Sahl. Lenny was a tremendous influence on Carlin, and helped him while he, Lenny, was still alive. (He died in 1966).

I am not certain that there would be no freedom movement without AJ. Ron Paul was around before Alex; and I think others would have filled the void. But I do take your point.

Now back to our unproductive AJ bashing thread already in progress. Funny, I don't remember Ron Paul or anybody else discussing AJ at the Rally for the Republic... I wonder why?

For example, SOTT uses The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion to make the argument not to trust Jones. However, the same can be said of SOTT. I don't believe for a minute that the NWO cannot be defeated. I do believe that the majority of people won't be convinced of this before December 21, 2012. The next day, when everyone realizes how full of it, the religious prophecy crowd really is, we can get on to the business of eliminating the NWO and its fellow travelers. Let's make that day memorable.

Yes, sometimes he has good information, good guests and important news to break. But I am tired of the guy. The Charlie Sheen stunt was the last nail in a coffin which had too many nails already. If it's real news, then it will show up on Daily Paul, courtesy of some nice poster. But I am just sick and tired of Jones. Enough already.

You and I may not care much for Alex Jones, but others do. They have a right to post, as you know. And, occasionally Jones does dig up some good, new information. I just don't want to hear any more screaming. I will leave it to the DP community to bring it forward.
