FOX Debate Focus Group

One of the commenters here on Daily Paul said they thought Ron Paul won. On Hannity & Colmes last night they said Huckabee won their focus group.

Abortion + Funny Moment

Just wanted to mention a couple things…

I thought it was funny at the end of the debate when all the candidates started hugging each other. None of them even got within 10 feet of Ron Paul. They were all too scared. It really shows you how none of the other candidates, if elected president, would ever cross the party lines to shake hands.

On a more serious note, I think Dr. Paul really needs to clarify his stance on abortion. People think when you’re pro-life it means you want to spend every waking moment over turning Roe v Wade. She mentioned he was pro-life, in the interview, and then instantly went on to another unrelated question. Dr. Paul should have backtracked, clarified his opinion on abortion, and then moved on. I’m pro-choice, but I really don’t have a problem with states banning abortion and so it doesn’t effect negatively on my views towards Ron Paul. This is a huge issue and I think he lost some voters not clarifying that.

Sneaky Suspicion

@gdz062673: Some things really are better left unsaid. I have a sneaky suspicion like you but would like to see RP continue to do as he is doing. For many, his platform alone seems too far out there. I think we can hold our breath on that one until the elections are over. Uncovering that issue won't win him the election because, some (most) people just (still) can't handle the truth.

Sneaky Suspicion

I am at least glad that he is open to new investigation on the matter. Ron Paul is by far the most qualified man of the bunch to earn the job as president. With exception to Mike Gravel, everyone else on the Republican and Democratic side scare the hell out of me. One side wants a nanny state, the other side wants a police state. Both are enemies of liberty and Ron Paul is the man to get that torch or liberty burning again. Go Ron go!!!!

ABC CAUGHT RIGGING THE POLL ON THE DEBATE !!!!

I just got off www.infowars.com and read that ABC was taking our votes away from Ron Paul after the debate yesterday, I voted at 1PM CT and his vote tally was over 10,000 and Romney was next with 550.

I think if this is the way ABC and the MSM want to play then we need to expose them !!!!

Ron Paul whooped the 8 other puppets and even made some of them talk like he does all the time, We are winning and the the " Heat is on and the Revolution is taking off BIG TIME !!!!||

"Freedom is a right that can never be won in war, only by each individual "

Shots at neocons

I was glad to see Ron Paul take several good shots at the neocons. I think the electorate is sophisticated enough to understand this 'conspiracy' and lets him position himself as the traditional Republican, the unhijacked Republican.

I look forward to him getting after the New World Order. Maybe he could say something like "I'm running for president of the US, not leader of the New World Order".

When talking about being a libertarian, he should say something like "We have a libertarian Constitution . . etc."
Famous Quote from Justice William O. Douglas

"The Constitution is not neutral.
It was designed to take the government
off the backs of people."

If Dr. Paul Had More Time ?

In watching the debate I was just amazed again that Dr. Paul answered the questions right to the point, while the other's knowing they are in Iowa were trying to sound like Dr. Paul.
If Dr. Paul had more time he would blow the other's away he is to the point on all his answers and showing all that he is not scripted with his answers.

As for Fox questioning Ron Pauls association with Alex Jones, is like Ron Paul questioning the Bush family alliance with Osama Bin Laden what a stupid question other than that I agree a very good interview.

GO RON PAUL YOU WILL WIN !!!!!!

"Freedom is a right that can never be won in war, only by each individual "

Alex Jones

Actually, I think the interview was very well handled in this matter. It basically gave Ron a chance to explain it, and you know it would have come up later, if not now. To me, it seemed like it was presented more like "here's a chance to comment on this" rather than "we are accusing you of such and such". I do however wish the would have brought up the freedom of speech, but I liked that he basically said he doesn't think he has to agree with the interviewers or company's views to present his own.

Seemed like one of the better interviews so far. For all the people wanting to flood Fox News with emails complaining about their conspiracy, now is the time to send them a note to tell them how much you appreciated them interviewing Ron Paul. One positive letter will outweigh 100 negative ones.

MSM is like training dogs - positive behavioral modification. "Good Fox News, good boy!"

More time?

But that would be like letting the only MD on stage answer the health care question! We can't have THAT!

Clearly, Alex Jones exists, and says strange things (disclaimer: I've never listened to Mr. Jones AFAIK) and Dr. Paul has had the temerity to go on Alex's radio show and speak, instead of exclusively being interviewed by Fox News. Obviously, smearing a Presidential campaign by association with others' wild beliefs is way-more-important than, say, asking the only Doctor in the debate anything about health care! Can't you see?? What would a successful-for-decades Doctor know about health care??? And of course the news media aren't biased against Dr. Paul, that's nonsense! ;)

BTW, My sincere and non-sarcastic thanks to whoever it was who told me to go watch the Napolitano video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8QwTKKSvR8 all 4 parts rock as a remedial constitutional law lesson for all political types.

Stay in the safe haven of the Constitution

I thought her interview of Ron Paul was well done, and yes, she was well mannered. Not a jerk like Cavuto and Sean Hannity. Her questions exposed to me a possible emerging strategy of the MSM:

If they can't ignore him, try to hang him with left-field issues: 9/11 conspiracy, marijuana, etc. Notice that no one ever debates or questions him on Fed issues? They would lose that one. Ron handled the questions brilliantly.

My strategy: ALWAYS defer to what the Constitution states. It is a safe haven for Ron Paul on the national front, and it is a safe haven for each Ron Paul supporter when you are discussing Ron Paul with others. The Constituion has been debated for well over 200 years.

I wish, wish that we could have a debate where each candidate would have to match the Amendment number with the Amendment, write out their answers and then have the papers graded on national TV. No question who would win.

Bang for the buck

Don't just watch the video here. Go to Fox and search for it there. If you can't find it, ask for it.

I work in "Hollywood" and you can bet that some executive over there at Fox checks web traffic daily to see what people want to see. Enlightened self-interest is a powerful force on the media just as it is in the rest of the free market!

If their ratings go up every time they cover Dr. Paul, they'll cover him some more.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Battle lines are being drawn.......

After watching the Iowa debates on ABC with George Stephanopolis, it's pretty easy to see that the media is doing all they can to promote Mitt Romney. Ole George is just falling all over himself trying to lick this guys shoes! I hope the Iowan's can see through this controlled media stunt and vote for real change. I thought Ron did very well, and why shouldn't he, he speaks the truth. All the candidates are starting to mimic his messege, though. Trying to steal his thunder, so as to make him insignificant, but it's a ploy. Ron ought to drag them into the big arena by hammering away on issues they won't dare follow: abolish the personal income tax and federal reserve!

alan laney

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

To imitate someone is to pay the person a genuine compliment—often an unintended compliment.

It seemed as though more than one of the responses given by the other candidates were verbatim quotes of Ron Paul stances. Did anyone else notice this?

"If the message is Liberty, promote it shamelessly!"
---------------------------------------------------

I noticed.........

Yes, I noticed that all of the candidates are starting to sound more like Ron Paul. They are watching his support grow, and they're starting to "sound" like him. All the talk about reducing the size of the Fed - balony! Only Ron has the record of consistency. Going forward, Ron needs to lead these wannabe conservatives into the deep end of the pool by confirming his stance on: Termination of Personal Income Tax and the Federal Reserve. No one can swim in that arena except Ron Paul. But, he has to articulate that it CAN be done............and HOW it can be done. Even if he has to produce his own infomercial and/or editorial. Most people ( of course with the persuasion of the major media candidates) believe this to be a "pie in the sky" proposition. If it can be done, and Ron Paul clearly outlines the process, I think folks will come onboard in droves. Ask yourself, who wouldn't be for this? This will clearly put him on a different level, because no other candidate will follow him there.

alan laney

Who wouldn't be for this?

On the elimination of the income tax. Many people think it's necessary and don't have the attention span to watch freedom to fascism. And then if they do, it's not on mainstream TV or a Michael Moore film, so there is a high probability they will dismiss it.

Ditto, imitation

I noticed that too. Ron Paul is the "Hope for America" but now Tancredo wants to bring hope to the presidency and I think Giuliani was the other one that answered hope when asked what they would bring to the presidency.
Now Romney is a student of history by mentioning Teddy Roosevelt as a key influence on him. The extent of his knowledge is probably 'speak softly but carry a big stick' while Dr Paul has an in-depth knowlede of history.
Also Huckabee I believe it was went on about free markets.
I'm with you. I wasn't taking notes but it seemed there was a stealth stealing of Dr Paul's platform which they could pull off since Dr Paul had so little time to speak.
ps I don't remember when, maybe the NH debate, when Giuliani spoke of trading with VietNam now. Maybe he did do his reading assignment.

Ron Paul 9-11

I wonder if Ron Paul actually took time to analyze the evidence regarding 9-11. Three skyscrapers fall at the rate of gravity? Before 9-11 there was no steel building that ever collapsed due to fire, but 3 came down that day? Steel beams cut at perfect 45 degree angles? The military running exercises on the day of 9-11? I don't know how one can come away believing the government's conspiracy theory on what happened that day. It defies the laws of physics..

911

I AM pretty sure Ron Paul has his opinion on what happened during 911.
the news lady tried to set him up not only with 911 conspiracy question but also with alex jones.. they are now so scared of him they are trying to make him look like an extremist so he will not look very good to the public... his campaghn so far has many democrats, and very many young people from the ages of 20 and up joining him.. they are trying to get him associated with the conspiracy theories to make him look like a dork so people won't vote him.. I voted for Ron Paul when he ran as a libertarian in 1988. He loves this country and would give his life to protect it and see it go back to the people and take it away from the big business goons and the big banksters! RON PAUL IN 08

Enough on 9/11

You know it was taken down, I know it was taken down and likely so does Dr Paul. But we really have to remember that stating that on national TV, or ANY source for that matter would effectively end his run for the presidency.

The average American simply cannot hear that, even tho it is the truth. To accept it would rock their beliefs to the core so they will simply reject both the message and the messenger.

Instead, lets stick to the main issues, limited government, personal freedom, no foreign entanglements, secure borders, and bringing our troops home. Oh yeah, and ending the IRS. Those are issues Joe Sixpack can identify with and rally behind Dr Paul. Others will just make Paul appear (to the masses) as a "nut"

Knock it off

I wish everyone who believed 911 was some massive conspiracy would be quiet about it on these Ron Paul websites. Ron Paul does not believe it. He has stated so numerous times, and we all know he says what he believes. The only thing you're really doing is making sure that anyone who has just heard about him and wanders onto this website sees this nonsense and doesn't vote for him. You really are hurting the campaign, because instead of being asked about the issues, Ron is asked to explain why you guys support him. Don't be a part of marginalizing Dr. Paul.

Correct...

He can't show all his cards right now.

You know, he DOES support a new investigation.......ISN'T THAT ENOUGH !?!?!

If he were to come out publicly saying 9/11 was an inside job, we'd have a media circus on our hands. HIS job is to - instead - educate the public about the Constitution and hopefully acquire the Presidency so he CAN help to chain the feds back down to the Constitution so there will not be anymore 9/11s.

Ron Paul is BRILLIANT with how he handles the media. His answer about Alex Jones to the Fox interviewer was absolutely genius. Some may take it as a slight diss to Alex, but all Ron is doing is shoving the media's filthly logic back in their own face

.
.

www.vaclib.org

IMO the "diss" was to Fox

IMO the "diss" was to Fox and the other networks for universally cheerleading the Iraq war. Notice Bandaras shut up once Dr. Paul said that and, went on to a new subject. Apparently, one try to link us with extreme folks is required as "payment" per Fox News interview.

I'm just wondering how infuriated they'll get when they discover my conspiracy of hot strippers & Hooters-Girls who are going to suddenly start supporting Ron Paul if we, er...play those cards right! :)
JMR

Yes! This was good.

Ron Paul makes a great impression. I didn't see the whole debate, but the main thing is that he was different on the war issue. It seems as if he was! And the interview clips afterwards were just great too.

I've read comments earlier today where people thought that he didn't make a good impression. I think it was quite good. I'm releaved!

gotta remember... as this

gotta remember... as this thing gets closer to the primary.. all the dorks will be out in force to discredit Dr. Paul. I read 2 articles from some rag (newspaper) in Iowa.. 2 articles about how all the Ron Paul supporters were hammering the internet polls to boost Ron Paul.. this is a lie.. first all the other candidates have equall access to the net, so do there supporters.. the problem is nobody supports the 3 dingbats that the establishment wants so no one votes for them!!!! lol.. Its not like only Ron Paul supporters are on the net !!!! Ron did make a good impression... he always does.. he comes across this way because he only speakes the truth! he has his voting record which shows his views and beleifs have never wavered 1 time! NO MORON ON THAT STAGE CAN SAY THAT..
I voted for Dr. Paul in 1988 when he ran as a libertarian.. I have sent him donations when he ran for congress in TEXAS .my wife and I will be sending the max amount of 4600.00 to his campaighn in about 3 to 4 weeks! GOD BLESS RON PAUL!!!! RON PAUL IN 08!!!!!!!

I Am Shocked

All I can say is what a wonderful interview from Fox. It's about time! She was respectful, allowed Ron Paul to speak to every question she asked, and even said "very great to hear from you" at the end of the interview. Perhaps Fox wants to make sure they clean up their opinion about Dr. Paul before he wins the Iowa straw poll. I am shocked, but very happy!

EDIT: spelling error

Paul, Paul, Paul, Huckabee, Paul, Paul....

What's with the one Huckabee video thrown in there?

Huck

(....still trying to figure out if comments are threaded so a reply to a comment makes sense)
If not for Ron, I would probably go huck or kasinich

Mikey.

Probably because Huckabee is the least insane excluding Ron.

No sound on last video

I listed to all the videos. I'm not sure why there is one of Mike Hucakbee here. The last video clip of the second half of the Fox Interview is missing the audio. Sure hope it gets fixed as Fox doesn't have it at their web site.

Sound problem

I had the same problem first. I just reloaded (updated) the webpage, and then it worked fine.

UPDATE

All problems fixed... new video up.

Sound?

Hmmm, worked for me.
