What's your opinion on the flu shots?

So I wasn't really planning on getting a flu shot(s), mostly because I never get one... some years I get the flu, and it sucks and basically knocks me out of work/school for a week, but not every year.
My parents think I should get the vaccine, and from the stories of people I know who have gotten swine flu so far, I'm tempted to take the risk... I just don't want to end up losing two weeks of school/work, sitting in bed in pain....
So, does anyone think there really is a risk in getting the vaccine?

There are better ways to maintain health.
There is always a danger with a vaccine that you will suffer more harm from the vaccine than the disease that it is designed to prevent. But even if you survive the vaccine without harm as most people seem to do, there are more effective ways to maintain one's health.
Here is a short video explaining the benefits of high doses of vitamin D3 in preventing colds and flu as one example of a better approach:

Diet and exercise have a lot to do with health and avoiding disease, but that topic is so broad that you need to do your own research to figure out what is best for you. The standard US diet is best described as disease producing.

You go ahead and
read about all vaccines then decide.

What is the bigger risk?
Having a reaction from the mercury, formaldehyde, squalene, etc. that can result in guillene berre (paralyasis), oldtimers (sp. wrong), diabetes,
etc., etc. ? Or a case of the flu that will in all liklihood result in a few days of being sick?
Nope
Not for me. I have never had a flue shot. Don't know if I've had the flu or not. There are so many viruses out there that are similar to the flu and the flu is a different strain every year. As far as the swine flu shot I don't trust it. look what happenned in the 70s. This vaccine has been too rushed and there are too many different kinds. Take the vitamin D3; Well no You decide. I'm just telling you what I'm doing. I admit I am a little worried. I'm getting older and have some health problems. They are nuerological though so I think the shot would be even more risky for me, Good luck.
I would just take precautions like hand washing, avoiding sick people, eating healthy, getting your rest, and the vitamin D if I were you.
Worth the risk ...?
Hmm....Lets See. I have this constant dull pain from a known medical condition, that started about the time I received multiple vaccinations some 12 years ago.
I'll take 2 weeks of the the swine flu over vaccine triggered chronic illness that's lasted over a decade.
Speaking from experience......NO It's not worth the risk.

I had it. I feel better. Not 100% yet but, I'm still alive and able to speak. Bad-Karma had it, he's ok.

Its a scam
I believe it is a scam and a hoax. If it doesn't give you the flu, I have not seen any proof that it actually prevents it. I have tried to find any evidence of double blind studies that vaccines work and have been unable to locate any research on that. The current round of vaccines have not been properly tested even short term for negative effects and obviously no one knows the long term effects yet. My two kids got autism from shots yet never once were we asked to report adverse reactions to the CDC or vaers, nor did their doctor or medical people report it. Most adverse reactions are not reported at all so the medical industry and CDC have no real statistics and info on adverse reactions to any type of vaccinations. I will not allow anyone in my family to get any further shots. Everyone that I know who got flu shots got the flu anyway, so why bother?
Take vitamin D3
instead of the flu shot. D3 builds up your immune system, but vaccinations harm it.
never had one.
Just asked the wife how many times she can remember me having the flu, she said never. I believe I had it a few years back, wiped me out for a couple of days.
I've got a friend that never misses the opportunity to get a flu shot. He gets the flu a lot. Don't know how scientific that little bit of info is, but it's my experience.
My opinion is if I want to avoid getting sick with something it's probably a good idea to avoid being jabbed with a needle that has the something in it.

Just roll the dice...
If you happen to get sick this "flu season", you may feel very lousy for 4 to 7 days and then get over it. After that you will have natural immunity to whatever it was that got you sick in the first place. Then again you may not get sick at all.
Flu shot?...what flu shot?
well that's been my attitude
well that's been my attitude towards it every year.... but the people i know who have gotten swine flu had it for 2 full weeks and had to be in bed the entire time... they said it was extremely painful- like the regular flu times 100.
