Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Bob Corker (R-TN) introduced "The Federal Reserve Accountability Act," an attempt to kill HR 1207/S 604 by passing a bill that prevents a full audit and full transparency from America's secretive central bank.
This is typical political games, offering up another bill to prevent a good bill from being voted on.
HR 1207, the Audit the Fed bill in the House, has broad bi-partisan support. (303 co-sponsors!) The companion Senate bill S 604, The Federal Reserve Sunshine Act, has 30 co-sponsors at this point. Both of these bills would provide full transparency and are easy to read and understand.
Please call your Senators today and tell them Senators Merkley and Corker’s bill is NOT an acceptable alternative to a real audit.
Then ask them to sign on as co-sponsors to S 604, and let the Sunshine into the FED.
